I enjoyed your podcast! I love knitting socks magic loop too. I think your size adjustments sound good. I like having some socks with negative ease for every day wear, and some bigger one for being extra comfy in a home. You can always try on your sock to make sure the length is right before starting the toe.
I love that you use big brand yarns and acrylic yarns as well as other beautiful fibres. It's great to see indie designs being made in accessible fibres and turning out beautifully
I don't have any issues with using big brand yarns or acrylic yarns, but I don't want to mislead... I actually knit mostly with hand dyed yarns... The Alchemy Pullover is knit in Dusty Yarn Co, Classic DK, 100% Superwash Merino
@@knitcalifornia omg I was writing on someone else's video and I guess her video ended and the comment went on your video when it started 🫣🫠🫢 I still love your yarn choices! And the Alchemy looks fab
Hi Knit California! I'm a newer sock knitter (been knitting for years though) - anyways, I try my socks on and when the foot length hits my little toe I start decreasing. Just what works for me! ❤
Welcome back 🎉 I’m overstimulated by all the vibrant colors and patterns and future pattern ideas ❤🧶💫 I bet you and Rachel miss each other ! Looks like you had a blast !!
the alchemy sweater looks AMAZING!! I love the little details. Sadly won't be able to test knit for you but def will be purchasing and knitting in the future!!!
OBSESSED with all those Ireland colorways!!!!! I am patiently waiting for my yarn from Golden Hour for my California sweater to cast on my FIRST sweater!!!!! Also LOVE the Alchemy sweater but not a Swiftie 🤣
Ahhh can’t wait for your Golden Hour yarn to arrive! All those colors were so good!! And the Alchemy Pullover may be inspired by TS but it’s a classic perfect for everyone 💖💖💖
Your socks look great! Congrats! Keep in mind that when you make a narrower foot (fewer sts), you might need to make a longer (or same length) foot as the sock might need to stretch wider & therefore might shorten. I like tight socks (negative ease) & when I did that, I added a few more rows to the foot. Just something to consider. :)
Ok, but if you decide to do the double date sweater, knomad's undyed grey yasmin yak blend could be chef's kiss for the main and it's a beautiful yarn to work with 👀
Your Book Club cardigan is beautiful. That dusty lilac color was my bridesmaids color in my wedding. Love it. I like the idea of the rainbow California sweater for the same reason you mentioned
I haven't knit any socks since the summer, but hearing you get excited about sock knitting has made me want to knit socks again! My vote is for the superglo 🍭
Re your socks as you fine tune them. Go down to 64 stitches but don’t shorten them. If you do both you might not be able to tell which one of those changes affects your fit. It sometimes takes a few times knitting them to get to a perfect fit. Good luck.
Welcome back!!! I can’t wait to see videos and photos from your Ireland trip! 🤩 I would suggest using the Super Glow yarn so it’s much different than your Book Club Cardigan and a nice change to switch to. Also, it might be too bright for me so I need to live on the wild side through you 🤣
I personally would prefer the lavender for the sweater but you really wanted that Glo so why not go for it, what else are you going to do with it? Wish I could join the KAL but am a pretty new knitter still working my way through my first sweater and it is slow going, I really don't want to try to have two going, especially since I have two socks and a hat in the works too. Hopefully next time! The red looks great on you, btw!
@@knitcalifornia I also found that I have to pull the sock a little on the sock ruler. Don’t just let it hand loose. When we put socks on our feet, they are stretched. I hope you like knitting socks. I like the portability of them.
Your Alchemy Sweater turned out incredible. The detail on the back shoulder and top of sleeves and down the sides looks amazing. Great job!!
Thank you so much!

@@chelseaw5011 haha omg no worries! I was just a bit confused 😅
Super glow for the California sweater. I think the name of the sweater goes with a one of a kind California yarn!
Agree!
as both a 49ers fan and a Swiftie, I am so conflicted about wanting to knit the alchemy in chief's red, but it looks amazing!
Knit it in 49er's red! 😆😉
@@knitcalifornia I was actually thinking DYC's "say it" is more 9ers (and also a better red for my complexion 😅)
I actually considered using Say It instead of HRH HGH for my design, so I get it!! It's a gorgeous red!

Beautiful sweater! I’m looking forward to the pattern release.
Thank you!
Also, love the Alchemy Sweater!

Ok good tip Jennifer!!! Thank you!!!
Wool and Co is my LYS, which is tooooo dangerous!!! You’re using a great combo for the Bookclub Cardi❤
Omggg yeah that would be super dangerous if it was my LYS! 🤣
Wow love the red on you, and cute make up :)
Thank you!

That sounds lovely! Yak blends are so soft! I picked out a MC from Knit Picks and I’m waiting (im)patiently for it to arrive haha!
That red is great on you!
Thank you!
Your pups are so cute!!!
Thanks! 🥰

Aw I love that! The dusty purples are some of my favorite purples ♥️

Yay!
I laughed out loud at the "Nicholas Mosse potty-o" lol!
🤣🤣🤣

I ended up going with the Superglo! Can’t wait to share on the next podcast! 💖
Loving everything! I think you should cast on with the Super Glo!! Obsessed.
I picked the Superglo!
Please for the love of God use the Super Glo yarn!!!! 😍😍😍

Do you have a sock ruler? It really helps in determining length.
I do! I used it on these ones, but I think I may prefer a slightly tighter foot? Not sure, but excited to figure it out
