Given the tradition of the old horns now relegated to history, so too should the needless use of them. It's unnecessary, and is disturbing for those that live near train lines. Cry wolf, anyone? The door handles are torture. I have arthritis so I have to use two hands to try and open the doors. It's unnecessary, and it's ableist. I’m pretty sure the Ev100 maintenance train still has the rvb horn. Strange how a literal maintenance train still has it but not the comeng.

as someone who lives near the Hurstbridge line i sadly never got to experience these beautiful tin cans happily roll along the rails, now its just the dang xtrapolis sets.

I just can’t get over Comeng sounding like an X’trap.. it sounds rather scary to me and makes me feel a little sick (specially hearing it with the doors). The RVB 3 Chime was just too iconic to replace. I wish they replaced them with a synthetic electronic horn which is modelled to sound like the RVB’s just a bit louder to comply. But there is only so much that can happen, that idea is all but a fantasy.. they’d sound a little flat but better if anything. So much has gone on that I never realised, was rather pleasant seeing this.

Do you think the xtrap trains will also get a new upgrade for the internal PIDS to show a map like the new Siemens PIDS in the train? Also if this happens, this will be the first time we see the color red and dark blue actually shown on a train interior PID. Btw I’ve heard some people talk about something called ‘Metro tunnel 2’, do you know anything abt it?

On Monday 12th August between 12pm and 4pm, the line was suspended with Buses replacing trains between Oakleigh and Westall due to an overhead issues. Once it resumes again, trains run back to normal services with delays then they sent a Comeng to run a few services during the afternoon peak on the Cranbourne line. Thanks for the update 🎉❤ : ) Cheers

Why did the rare Comeng ran revenue services on the Cranbourne line instead of HCMTs throughout August 2024?

Talking of interesting/unexpected train movements around this time, by sheer luck I somehow managed to catch a Siemens on a Northern group service between Parliament and Flinders St this morning (I think it was going to Craigieburn). I was so confused but also kinda happy to be able to get one, as I'm pretty sure it's just Comengs usually on that group now. But this is of course even cooler and more unexpected. Thanks as always. Really hope we get one out to East Pakenham someday.
