UK based motorcycle vlogger, riding a Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn. The audio is unedited, so expect wind noise. What I hear in my helmet, you will hear on the video. My motorcycle is Clementine, a lovely little bike, well suited to the narrow country lanes which I lose myself on. As we have a Ford Van and Gobur folding caravan, we take Clementine on holidays with us, so expect ride videos from all around the UK. Some of the later videos have narration, most of the older one’s don’t. If you scroll through the older videos, you will find rides from when I had an Interceptor 650 too. You will also find some motorcycle ride reviews thrown in. Thanks for watching.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 | Return from Arnside | Near Miss !
Hello all,
Here we take a leisurely ride from Arnside on Clementine, my Royal Enfield Classic 350, calling in at Cinderbarrow Miniature Railway. It was turning into here, that a car coming out, just wasn't looking in our direction. Far too close for comfort !
I hope you enjoy this video, and consider subscribing if you haven't already done so.
Thanks for Watching.

Hello, At long last, Clementine, my Royal Enfield Classic 350, gets a run out. Sadly, it's the last run out of the year for her, as she will be put into winter hibernation very soon, leaving Scorpio {my Guerrilla 450} , to suffer the winter rides. There is also a return ride coming out, but then that's it until the spring. I hope you enjoy this ride, it was extremely cold, so expect some sniffl...

Hello all, Today we are trying out the "Round Trip" feature on my new Garmin Zumo XT, whilst thoroughly enjoying having the extra 2k revs to use on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. The latter showing the true potential of this great bike. We do get a wriggle on (from around 17:23 in) especially in the twisties !!! We also have a catch up, and mention a new brand from Royal Enfield. I ho...

* Please Note* This was recorded a few weeks ago, so some of the narratives are out of date. Scorpio has now had his first service, so we have an extra 2k revs to play with. The Beeline has now been sold ! We haven’t had chance to go out recently, due to sorting things out after my dad unexpectedly passed away. I hope you enjoy this video anyway, and hopefully we can get out soon to create rele...

Part two of two. Hello, Here we continue on our ride, from the previous video. This time, after a couple of miles, we join the A6, heading for Kendal, where we finish this video. Although the A6 does have some pretty stunning views in places, by enlarge, it isn't the most interesting ride, but we need to get the miles on my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, so that I can get him serviced asap. I hop...

*Please Note* This was recorded prior to releasing the previous run of videos. Hello, Part one of two. Here we ride from Kendal to Orton on Scorpio, my Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, only to find the road is closed. We do continue, to see if we can get to where the M6 motorway splits, and we ride in the middle. We finish this video here, so please see Part two, which will be released at the same ...

I also try and sort out problems I had been having with the Beeline/phone, you will have to watch to find the answer !!! I hope you have enjoyed these 4 video's, it was a great day. Hello, Here we continue on the ride from Bampton, to Chipping Norton. We would like to say a massive thank you, to the chap in Lynwood & Co tea room, for going above and beyond to make room for us all. Hello, This video is kind of a continuation of the ride to Bourton on the Water. After having a good catch up, over a few brews in "The Willow", we go off on a ride. Sadly, I didn't really take much notice of where we were, as I was just following the others, but we did end up in Bampton, where we had more chit chat's in a lovely café. Hello, Today, we are riding along some lanes and roads in Cheshire, whilst I talk about my dad, who recently passed away. It is a very long video, but it is as much for myself and the family, as it is for you, so please consider this, before leaving any negative comments. Also, the video quality is not up to my usual standard, as I am having to work with my rubbish, old laptop which won't work ...

So glad you are okay. These things happen quickly.
Thank you…..I saw it coming, but we still have to be on a guard all the time. 👍
Nice, can’t wait to try one in the states. It will probably be another year before we get it here.
I hope not for your sake, it would be tight to keep you waiting that long. It's a belter 👍 cheers
@ Hi Ian, No one here in the states has them yet, the 452 Himalayan is here though.
@rickbrown7067 hopefully won’t be long then.
No need for speed bumps with holes like that!
Absolutely 😢
Wonder if blind people get a discount on their driving licence 😮
Windows 11 probably won't install because of only having TPM 1.2 instead of 2.0. Some of the tools that allow you to boot the installation ISO from a USB stick have an option to bypass the TPM check. I think "Rufus" is one that can do that.
Thank you.
I have just had a look at the TPM thingy you speak of. Definitely worth seeing if my PC has it, though it is getting on a bit. There was a really good explanatory video on UA-cam, so will investigate when I get the chance. Thank you.
Nice ride out Ian thankyou, Albeit that low sunshine can be blinding and off putting, I still like the sound of Clemantine . Sorry to hear you have twisted your back whilst hoping it gets better soon. Perhaps riding Scorpio may have aggravated it ? Throttle on right side and fully open? Ah just a thought. Ride safe and be aware of those clowns on the road, Bfn Mike Sunny Wales
Thanks Mike. Yes, little Clementine still has a place in my heart. I don’t think Scorpio is responsible for the back, more likely mauling something at home.
Low winter sun is so dangerous, straight in his eyes. if you ever feel that sun your back, you know you're in danger!
Indeed, but instead of assuming nothing was coming, he should have taken a second look. Fortunately, I could see that he hadn’t seen me 😄 Cheers
@@ianhughesroyalenfield You were super sharp there, he was aiming right at you!
@GlynOC I bet he was embarrassed afterwards.
@@ianhughesroyalenfield I bet he was!
@GlynOC 😂
Mmmm, heated socks🤔 They could be a good addition to my slippers 🤣 Fed up with cold feet🥶
Unfortunately these heated bike socks need power from the bike, but I bought some heated insoles off Aliexpress (first time ever bought from them), they actually work. Just have to remember about the trailing wires when moving off the sofa 😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield With my record of falling over, trailing wires sound like an 'elf an safety' nightmare🤣 I would have to be cordoned off with that yellow and black hazard tape⚠
@paulholmes1682 😂😂😂 heated socks with batteries it is then 😊
Hi Ian, that looked like a nice ride, apart from the car driver nearby getting you 😮
It was a lovely ride Malcolm. Didn’t let the muppet spoil it for me 😉😂 Cheers
Sadly, Ian, there's brain-dead drivers everywhere, oblivious to what's around them and feeling entitled to do whatever they like. It's far more prevalent these days, but it's by no means a new phenomena. Read John Betjeman's 'Meditation on the A30', written in 1966.
I’ll try and find that, thanks Chris.
Oh yeah 😂
Bet that tosser in the SUV reckons he is a safe driver. Even with his view partially obstructed by his cage; should he have been observing his surroundings carefully before he moved into a road he should have seen you well before you were forced to use your horn by his incompetence. It seems that every time I use the road I get confronted by at least one stupid cage driver, the rapidly declining standard of peoples driving is becoming a worry. These prats seem to be oblivious to the fact that it is in fact a privilege to be able to drive on the road, not a god given right. Rant over. Very enjoyable video Ian; luv the ride out of Arnside; its like I've I actually ridden it, nice one bud. Regards to Ann and you ride safe fella.
Obviously you are 100% right Neil. On this ride (both vids), I encountered at least 3 notable instances of poor driving, hence my comment after this Muppet 😔. Love to you both.
@ 👍🏍🙏
It’s what I found today, first sunny day after a grim week of weather but low in sky and dazzling
Yes, low winter sun is a pain in the ……..eyes 😂 Cheers
Hi Ian, i think you are using Dji action cameras. If so can you let me know what microphone set up you have. Cheers
I am indeed using DJI’s. I have the OA4 on my helmet, fitted with DJI’s own mic adapter, and a now unavailable (bugger) Hama VSOP Notebook microphone. I have seen these mics pop up on eBay occasionally, so if you see them buy them. They have low sensitivity, which is ideal for our situation. I set the in camera recording volume to -8 then increase in editing. This avoids most of the clipping we get from wind noise, but still suffer occasionally when following other vehicles, or if a large vehicle (lorry/bus) passes in the opposite direction. On the whole it’s pretty good. I do have the DJI lav mic, which I did try with the OA3 (when it was fitted to my helmet), but still found it too “hot”, unless I maxed out the negative volume at -12. I found when doing that, we lost a lot of the ambient sounds. Maybe, with the OA4 going to -20, it might be better. I will have to try it in case the Hama fails. Hope this helps.
Another great video Ian great scenery, what a plonker poor observation, looking forward to the next t ride out on Scorpio.
Thanks Glynn. I might just get another ride on Clementine first, as we are down in Nantwich again, and the weather isn’t looking too bad at times this week. 🤞
NO Excuse, Driving Without Due Care and Attention, in the event of a collision, he would have a day in court. Cheers, DINO, PANDA, and Mongies.
Hi gang, good job for him I went backwards 😂
Grate 😂
Thanks Phillip.
Jeez Ian I reckon he would have driven through you if you hadn't blasted your horn "crazy" .Gotta say I am suffering at the moment with back issues all this cold weather doesn't help that's for sure muscles pull for a passtime when it's cold not nice at all 🥴👍
You are 100% right, bloody idiot. I really do feel for you Mal, the cold and damp really does get in there, then causes pain when you don’t know how or what you have done. This getting on a bit is sh*te 🙄🫣 Wishing you well.
Never looked, bloody plonker!!! 😣
If you didn't laugh, you'd cry 🫣
Indeed 😂
You'll do for me Ian 😂
😂
Looks like a good place to visit Ian keep a look out for the 2 tone van 😂
Will do Keith, can’t miss it 😉😎 regards to Lynne
Hi Ian, I’m so glad I got fuel at Lancaster on my way to Arnside, I was gonna leave it and fuel up at that Texaco garage, but on passing it and it being closed for refurbishment work I was kinda glad I fueled up when I did. The guy in the car eh, it’s happening all to often and they look at ya like it’s your fault
I was surprised to see the refurb there, it’s not that long since it was last done 🤔. I am guessing that chap might have needed fresh undies 😂
I agree, he certainly didn't look as though he was bothered he had nearly knocked Ian off his bike. Typical of many of today's drivers sadly.
I was waiting for some big event, thank goodness it wasn't even a tickle😅
Good job I paddled backwards though 😂
@@ianhughesroyalenfield like the flinstones
@paulsilson2148 😂 yabba dabba dooo 😂
It was a good job you had your wits about you then Ian, he clearly had the sun directly in his face and because of the angle you would have been partly obscured by his A pillar. Why do people take chances when they can't see properly and not wait until they are sure it's clear? The look of shock on his face when he realised you were there was priceless.
Indeed. Cutting the corner off didn’t help either 🙄😂
@ianhughesroyalenfield very true and I have to say that sign is in a terrible place for visability.
Agreed.
What a plonker! You've got his number if you feel like sending the clip to the police, they should act on it, if only to remind him about going to Specsavers!! Great video, meant to say sorry to hear about your Dad. Take care, look forward to your next video. 👍
Thanks Peter. Hopefully the shock will remind him to be more careful in the future. 🤞
Sad it’s Clementines last ride this year, at least she has a good horn though, or you might not have had to clean her for the winter lay up. He didn’t even have the decency to raise his hand to apologise 🤬 it makes you wonder how some people passed there test.
I think he was one of those who didn't have to do much to pass his test 😳🤣 Maybe a refresher course would be good. We have just brought Clementine down to Nantwich, but if I get the chance, I will take her for another spin before laying her up, so 🤞 for some dry weather. Cheers
Thick a pillars are a problem but the main property is poor driver education. If something restricts your vision you are supposed to move your bloody head and check properly. The car test if far to easy and needs to be toughened up a bit .
Totally agree Kev 👍
😮 good job your observation & prediction reflexes were sharp Ian. Plus well done for staying calm & not shouting & waving your arms about! 😂👍. Regards, Mo 😊👍.
Thanks Mo. It was that kind of day, so kind of expecting it 🙄🤣
Totally didn't look ! Shouldn't be on the bloody road! 🙄
Hi Ian, well that looked a bit of a chilly ride, with plenty of frosts on the verges along the way, I'm lucky as so far we've escaped the frost, just the usual rain 😂, oh, and how dare you block that poor car driver as he left the parking area, he was only on the wrong side of the road, whats wrong with that??, id almost forgotten how buys the UK motorways are, nice view from that bridge.........colin 😀
Thanks Colin, I quite often end my rides on that bridge. We have just travelled down the M6 in the van, so busy. Too busy really. Cheers
That area of North Lancashire is certainly great riding country with spectacular views. I thought you were quite restrained over thar car incident, not sure i would have been quite so philosophical about it.
I have learnt that being careful with my comments, reduces editing time 🤣
Far out... What a turkey.
Just a bit.
Jeezus mate, what a complete wonker! Totally complacent and didn't even acknowledge his wrongdoing! 😬🙄🙆🤷♂️
It was a close one, I think he would have hit me, had I not paddled back a bit. I am just pleased I wasn't travelling at speed.
Definitely wasn’t looking
He only looked left 🤣
It's the A-pillars on modern cars. Great for their NCAP rating but you can lose a van in a right hand turn never mind a motor bike. No excuse for him not looking round it though.
Definitely no excuse for pausing before pulling out 🫣😂
That was close 😯 makes me laugh, the way they always look so indignant when you have to blow your horn at them 😂 how dare you be in the way 😂😂 all the best buddy 👍
Thanks Mike, tickled me how he just looked left, then pulled out right, good job I wasn’t a lorry 😂
Clementine is looking good Ian.
Thanks RR. She does need a good spruce up, when you look closely.
Faaarrk what a close one, what a idiot in that car.
That idiot, wouldn't you think that he would have stopped and apologised what a bloody nutter
Hi Ian, thanks for the video! Regarding Win 11, if you run the Microsoft pc health check it will tell you what the upgrade issue is. It seems the most common problem is TPM 2.0 is not enabled or not present. It may be that your motherboard has it but you need to go into the Bios or UEFI to enable it. I have a pc that’s 6 years old now and running win 10 but I have the facility to switch on the Trust Module but I’m not in any hurry to move to 11!
Wow Simon, thanks so much for this. I will do exactly what you have just said (next week, as we are away again from today). As I am trying to get my head around Win 11 on the laptop, I agree Win 10 is better. Can’t understand why they decided to add more clicks to do the basics 🫣, bonkers. Even simple tasks like importing video from an sd card, isn’t as simple. Attach sd card reader, then open photos app, and click import. Previously, the minute you attached the card reader, it opened photo app, and the vids were there to import. I admit, when I went from 7 to 10, it took a long time to get used to it 😂. Thanks again.
@@ianhughesroyalenfield When MS do a firmware update nothing works properly in my experience. Last week UA-cam was running at 144p with a solid signal, and dropping any channel after 30 seconds. Four days and a succession of firmware downloads later, everything came back. We're beta testers.
😢
@@ianhughesroyalenfieldI keep thinking about getting a new windows 11 laptop but everytime a watch a beginners video,I end up thinking sod that and go back to my old laptop. I wouldn't worry too much about them withdrawing support for 10,as they said this about Windows 7 year's ago and I'm still getting regular security updates every 3/4 weeks which still keeps it up-to-date. 🙂
@bally632 windows 11 definitely takes some getting your head around. More clicks needed to the same jobs, seems backward. There are some things which seem better, but have to get your head around working in a different way. My main reason for buying a new laptop, was to be able to use Davinci Resolve 19….my old laptop (apart from being slow), wasn’t compatible with the requirements. I do have to keep using the new laptop, so I don’t forget how it works 😂
Nice video Ian, sorry for your loss. My late father was the Possession Manager for Rail Safe during the reconstruction of Arnside Viaduct in 2011. I've yet to visit, I'll have to sort a ride out on one of my MC's in 2025. 👍
Sounds like a plan Stephen, pleased you enjoyed it. 👍
Hello Ian. I enjoyed your trip to Arnside, one of my favorite bike destinations. At 14 minutes you ask what the oncoming driver is doing. From your shadow it's clear he/she is driving up an incline and looking directly into the sun, likely reducing their view. So perhaps they added a bit of biker-friendly leeway. Nice driving.
Hi, thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Upon reflection, as I went past, I think she was looking for a particular house, but obviously with the sun it was hard to see. Most normal people, would have pulled up to the curb, and walk up and down the street, rather than just stop in the middle of the road 😂 The next video will take us to Sandside (one of our favourite places to eat fish n chips from Arnside Chippy 😎), then calling at the home of Cinderbarrow Miniature railway close to the end. Cheers
Lovely ride Ian! Looked chilly!
Thanks Sean, it was a bit, but I was toasty thanks to my heated clothing 😊 Just need a heated nose warmer now 😉😂
Beautiful Autumn's day for a run.
Indeed, thanks RR
Evening Ian 😊 not a lot to do ? Good pubs, great fish, and chip shop and fabulous views with a train travelling over a viaduct what more could anyone want 😊 An Osmo Action 4 to film it on. That's what 👍
Thanks James, but all those things don’t usually interest the younger generation, just us old fuddy duddies 🤪😂
Nice one 😂
Thanks Phillip.
Good to hear that all was as good as it could be with your dad Ian that you and hopefully your mum came out of it feeling ok with how it all went , I am sure there are gonna be times when things just flood back and overwhelm out of the blue as things trigger thoughts and memories .Sedate as Clementine is the sound of the engine just trundling along is quite a relaxing thing strange as it may sound 😊 a nice looking day and as per the only fly in the ointment is what else is on the road 😉👍
Thanks Mal, it’s a shame I have to share the road with others occasionally 🙄😂
Lovely ride Ian, to a beautiful destination, we are sure we saw a brass monkey looking for something at the promenade, Cheers from us ALL in the Med.

Sounds lovely, I did see a sign for cake aswell 😋, got out on Harriet on Sunday, had to stop for tea and cake 😅.

Nice video Ian, clementine does sound nice, I followed your progress on the map, with your commentary 👍. Arnside looks well worth a visit.
It’s a lovely little Victorian village Malcolm. A cracking pie shop, the Albion is nice for pub grub, cafe’s. It is also a good place to watch the tidal bore, though I have never seen it, and great sunsets. Oh, and Arnside chippy 😂
