Loved your video. How about the coping reveal? Too much or just right?
@@nostrabox thank you! And I'd say just right
Any kind of fluid lubricant is going to add some resistance in the form of viscosity, oils have less viscosity than greases but still much more than air of course so dry bearings do operate faster and with less resistance without lubricant; however similar to an engine without oil they will wear faster and heat faster. If you prefer it, maybe try adding a dry lubricant like PTFE or a light spray of silicone, this would not attract dirt. There is truth to the abrasive paste theory presented in the video but this is addressed through cleaning and relubricating which is not needed often thanks to shields. These things exist for a reason, but so does the preference to go without them; personally I love the smooth solid feel of a well greased bearing over the rattling lightweight speed of shieldless or even a traditional oiled bearing; but it’s just a preference, people take it so seriously and it’s silly to be honest. Trust your feet, you know what’s right for you.
Foy is a class act, humble Florida dude. Loves his fishing. Shout out to Foy, the man's man, skater's skater and SOTY.
Do you remember which one it was?
Hey Steve which Jamie Foy DW board did you try that was symmetrical?
It was yellow and had a skeleton scarecrow or something on it. It was quite a long time ago now
Stoked on the Heroin deck, I do like the Eggs but only when they're bigger, 9.125 and up. Smaller eggs feel dinky and are too pointy..
100% agree. I tried the small eggs, and they were way too pointy for me
Dammit, missed this one.. Video is looking crisp now! So how's the concave on that deck, mellow? Have you tried bigger than 8.5? I would prefer a symmetrical 8.75 with 14" WB, haven't found one yet though.. I did buy a Heroin symmetrical popsicle 9 with 14,25 WB and razor edge. Should be fun. I currently ride a 8.75 Antihero Clown deck (non symmetrical) with 14.25" WB.
Little more concave than The girl twins, but not crazy different. Got to skate it today. It feels good so far
Foy definitely deserved it but Emile Laurent wins SOTY for me, absolutely insane NBDs in Portland, have to have lived and skated there to fully appreciate how gnarly the nbds are in the polar vid.
Late ganggg!!!!
@bigdeckenergy8119 better late than never! We should collab a live one dat dude. Talk about wheels n stuff
@ let me give live a try first and then we can get something going! I can’t do live on my computer because I don’t have an office and there’s a good chance one of my kids would walk by in their undies 😂
@bigdeckenergy8119 I totally understand haha. My boy didn't wear a shirt all day today and came into the live lol. I'd have to look into how to do a dual live anyways
@ I know I can do it off the GoPro. I’ll give it a try soon and then we can go from there!
NOOO i missed another one!
@@jasonwarbird catch you on the next one!
Missed this one. Was tidying up and preparing seasoned slow cooker beans with smoked ham hock in beef broth.
@@999thenewman sounds good!
@@stickersteve007 Come back tomorrow and get you a bowl.
Sorry dude, just missed it.
@mikethomson6546 no worries dude. I'm gonna be doing them on a more regular basis I think.
Right on, I always enjoy it.
I’m 5’5 200 and a girl, I hate skating with people bc of those things..but this video meant a lot to me thank you
@wyattmarch2399 we have just as much fun as everyone else. That's what it's all about at the end of the day! Don't let it get you down or keep you from skating with other people. We all have something to offer to skateboarding! If you're out there putting in the effort it won't go unnoticed. Thank you for checkin the video out!
100% true brother ❤
I skate an 8.5 with ace 55 classics. I like ace because it’s a good mix btw Indy and thunders. Height of thunders but skate more like an Indy. Also prefer having a 9 inch truck with an 8.5 to have max amount of stability and truck space for grinds. I try to find boards that have a “full shape” to them like quasi or hockey decks
Real talk.
I've had it for years.....fn sux.😢
@24-7flounderproblem definitely does dude. Just gotta keep on truckin.
Definitely looking into buying a pair of these Slappy trucks. Thanks great vids
@deez__sneaks1 appreciate it brother 🙏
Alveer grip best grip.
@friedux2065 ive heard it's pretty good. I like the sparkles haha
@@stickersteve007 pepper and jessup ultra are my runners up but definitely try alveer if you haven't.
Dude you try those snot wide boy wheels? I'm curious if they would be sweet for slappages
i have not. im not a wide wheel kinda guy
I swear I thought of Stifler saying S Break!?! Great you got a sesh in for Thanksgiving. That spot sure was loud.
@TheReal_DeanD I want to go back and get some more tricks! Been looking for a good street bank spot
i’m not sure exactly what these people are talking about. My bearings have a shield on one side. That’s the side you mount to the outside of the wheels to keep the dirt out. The inside of the bearings has no shield. You clean them once every six months and love them and they last a long time. Without lubricant you have metal on metal wearing down. they will spin freely without any load on them. (The weight of you on the board skating.) Without lubricant, They will wear down and spin freely, but in a laboratory test, under LOAD, they will not perform as well as they properly maintained cleaned and lubricated bearing. This is why we have science and engineering
Skaters are smarter than mechanical engineers. It’s common sense.
Hi! Great video, I wonder if you use those bearings with spacers or not. My Bronson Raws came to me without them and apparently you can ride without them too. I'm very curious 🎉🎉I'm curious how it looks for you, really respect mate, one of my favorite videos on UA-cam😅
@AdamYspyder appreciate ya dude 🙏. To answer your question...No I don't use the spacers. Never have actually
Dude, I don't care what anyone thinks. I loved the bank kickflip. It was clean, it popped. My favorite one to do apart from 360 flip. When you land tricks, security gives you a break. Keep going. Have you ever tried a snow skate? I am in Canada. Snow is inevitable around this time. Good old Zumiez has them in sale for about $90 Canadian. Otherwise known as $20 USD.
@mikethomson6546 I have not tried to snow skate. Where I'm at, we rarely get snow. Have always wanted to try it
I like it Bud......😅 Looks Nice af👍
Thanks, I still haven't skated it yet haha
Hell Yeah Man. Slappy's are the Shit... Just watched a Vid from the 9 Club w Mike Sinclair and another homie they was arguing for the last 20 years😅 Thats Dope you got some Flow Homie🤙🔥
Appreciate it dude. Super stoked on it! Yeah Mike and Billy Mark's are hilarious
I just got these in the v6 nano for a second setup I’m trying. I was a little thrown off by them not covering the axle like my other set. I have a 54x39mm set that I’m pretty sure is the same wheel but 5mm wider. Powell doesn’t go into much specs on wheels like Spitfire does. But the lock in side feels about the same running my finger over it. So idk if it’s a width thing because the bearings are centered and not offset like the nano cubics? But damn I wish I had that curb near me. NJ is like cursed with shitty curbs or something. All the good curbs are in either high traffic areas or spots you get kicked out of
Yeah I think it's mainly the offset that pushes the wheel out over the axle nut. Nano rats are basically standard wheels with different profiles on each side. And I agree, they could do a better job at showing the specs
Ive had my Slappy's for 6 Months...im never going back. They started making Slappy bushings now. They didn't have them when these first came out. These trucks are legit
@@MichaelCunningham-c6b I agree. I don't think I'll ever skate another truck again either
The answer to madness is thunder trucks 148 they the best
I've recently discovered that slappys ultimately cured the madness for trucks for me. Wasn't a fan of thunders myself
The answer to madness is thunder trucks 148 they the best
The front nose, Nollie Shuv to fakie was rad. You know I’m going to be trying that one. If you like front nose, I recently learned front nose, 270 pivot out. You land on the back truck and spin 270 to regular. It’s goofy but fun. 👊👍
Thanks dude! I've dorked around with the 270 out a little bit, but never seem to get a fluid motion out
Slappy trucks are legit just so fucking good.
Straight facts 💯
Are those clearweather shoes?
Nah. Quite the opposite almost.....Dunks haha
