Most things have already been said but what I can add is that skateboarding has taught me is to see the environment, the surroundings with other eyes. The eyes of a skateboarder. I've never lost that. Even during my 23 year hiatus. Now at age 47 and 4 years back on the board it's like medicine that I have to take on a regular basis to feel good and comfortable. Skateboarding makes me really feel alive and free. Being in tune with your body, the board and the infrastructure you are skating in. ❤ I cherish it now more than I ever did back in the days.
I’m normally pretty chill and a “take things as they come” kind of guy. However, since getting back on, I’m always eyeing spots to skate even though I’ll prob never skate them. Too busy. I’ll build stuff at home to skate I’m chompin’ at the bit though. I rolled my ankle on Monday and all I can think about is skating. Skating has consumed me. Any free time I have, I want to skate. Screw doing adult things like laundry or the dishes. I want to practice my heelflips… the very trick that injured my ankle and I want revenge. I WANT to land a proper heelflip. I’m so close! Luckily, I left skating with only having ollies, so once I relearned that, I’ve been progressing well
Great edit! Patience... skating has taught me Patience... some tricks i want to learn im just not ready yet... the tricks will be there, when i am ready
Hey Steve, did you ever take long breaks from skating? Like years? I did. But it mostly wasn't by choice. Its hard relearning everything. At the same time. I am eliminating old bad habbits.

Very nice! That's a good one. We definitely look at our environment differently than the average person
Skateboarding has taught me to just do my thing. I don’t fit the mold of what a 46 year old is “supposed” to be doing and that’s ok.
That's more than ok! Who decides what we're "supposed" to be doing anyways 🍻
Persistence. Definitely. Nothing comes on the cheap and if you don’t keep up you’ll go backwards.
Definitely easier to lose tricks than to learn em
@@stickersteve007 sadly yes.
I do fakie varial flips. There I said it!
i do fakie varial flips all the time! they feel good!
There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing varial flips other than the slight discomfort of coming out to your parents.
@@mikeschmidt4800lol now that's fuckin funny!
To keep moving.
i've found tictacking switch has really helped skating switch in general

That board catch was sick as fuck. Unintentionally smooth.

@@stickersteve007 oh idk, i would never. just thought the imaginary scenario was funny. it's not something i've ever seen or heard of anyone doing.

@mikethomson6546 I did. Took about a 12 year break lol. It's definitely hard gettin some old tricks back.
That ending with garage door uncovering your name was super clean
Thanks dude. Tryin to play around with editing shenanigans
