Yeah, episode 5 drops one of the biggest bombshells of the series. They do such a good job of leaving breadcrumbs for you to pick up on and piece together. One of my all time favorite shows.

This wouldn’t be strange to see in any other military, but these are teenagers with no adult supervision that enforces this discipline. Nor does Shin seem the type of person to enforce it himself. So for the squad to assemble in a disciplined manner rather than group around him, Shin must have earned quite a lot of respect from his comrades.

Have you heard of the Visa anime news? Visa (credit card) has been responsible for forcing Japanese companies to censor their products if they want to continue to use their payment services. This is terrible for freedom of expression and should be immediately investigated and fixed. Western credit companies should not be controlling what foreigners (Japanese) do with their money. They should not act as a government, enforcing made-up laws that negatively impact the will of the people. Its not just Visa. All these huge companies (including Twitch/Amazon) have been acting as a collective to force others to self-censor themselves. Anime has always had 18+ stuff and lewd merch. Its their culture. Tourists need to stay out of Japan's business.

If I remember correctly, this was this directors debut as a full director, which is wild to me given how well they did with it.

This show has a lot of good points. The OST, the animation, even the CGI is pretty good for what we are used to get... I don't know how you feel the pace so far, IMO it's one of the best adaptations based on a LN, they take their fair times to expose well the plot and the world building. Plus it has a nice direction (I love the two POVs) that catches your attention, although it's funny that you already drug it once LOL but only because you didn't reach to the spicy part.

If you go back to the first episode, some guy talking on the radio said there were 3 students at risk from the truck and 2 of them were missing. One must be nanahoshi, the other one wasn't involved and third must be one of two names on the list. (the other name, not involved) I can speculate that all three were SUPPOSED to be summoned but Rudy changed things. Hopefully it'll be explained at some point. One giant clue that Nanahoshi was isekaied... she's the only person on the X-XXXXX world that has black hair. (X-XXXXX isn't a spoiler since it was mentioned before. You, like almost everybody else, missed it. So it'll be a surprise when it comes up again)
