Sailing Post Time
United States
Приєднався 10 лип 2021
We are Seth & Natalia and this is SAILING POST TIME!
Post Time: The time at which a race is scheduled to start and entrants must be at their starting positions.
We originally started sailing on a 1977 38’ sailboat in Hawaii until upgrading to a 1993 42’ Catalina sailboat named Post Time.
Instead of pursuing traditional living, we decided to live minimally while sailing and enjoying the view. We did not want to postpone our dreams and wait until retirement. Instead we wanted to show up for our life for the "race" of a lifetime. We have a Post Time of the present and are clocking miles towards our goal to circumnavigate this beautiful world.
We want you to see what each ocean horizon has to offer, so we would love to invite you to subscribe. For behind-the-scenes, weekly exclusive debriefs, early access to videos, and more bonus content. ▸ patreon.com/sailingposttime

I am a ‘89 ‘42 owner putting around with my family in the Chesapeake bay. Love your videos! You do a great job taking care of the essentials and not worrying about getting it “right”. Just keep smiling
Hey great tour. Thank you. I might have missed it but which model of the Catalina is it?
Your fridge seems to consume 340W if your figures are correct which is immense. Either it is broken or the conversion losses are very high... or have I miscalculated?
Ty, amazing videos tyvm
Tyvm great video subscribed n catching up. Just bought a 42 n heading for Columbia from my home Vancouver Island BC. Cheers n safe sailing
Thanks!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Ty great tour. Cheers subscribed from Vancouver Island BC Canada 🇨🇦
How are you finding the Catalina 42 so far for sailing in blue waters? Greetings from Argentina!
That’s too cute that’s cuter than my dogs, but I think they’re the same amount of cute
Hi Guys. The Most Successful Fishing Tackle and Bait I have ever used are - packs of Cigarettes, Cans of Beer, bottles of Spirits, and Such, that I Barter for Fresh Fish Caught by local Fishermen. Other than that, the Best Value Boat Fishing Rods I have used, are the Shakespeare Ugly Stick Range of Rods, though so far I haven’t managed to Catch a Wild Boat with one.Plenty of Fish, no Boats. Best Wishes.Bob in Wales.🙂🌟🌟🌟👍⛵️🏴🇬🇧
Hi Guys. Not my kind of Sailboat any longer- I just can’t do Classic style Sailboats any longer, as a Classic age guy who has sailed them since they were current production, and your Catalina 42 is a terrific example of the best imho, and so much so, that there is a chance that one of the New Catalina Sailboat may just fit what I now need for my next Sailboat 👍 Only mentioning this as it may help others - when I heard the very low hours for the age of the engine, I picked my years, and first thought - Big Chance of Diesel Bug, and or lots of water in the Fuel Tank from who knows how much Condensation. My immediate approach - Call in a Fuel Cleaner Polisher, followed by a Full Engine and Gearbox Service, plus new packing and grease for the packing box. Diesels just love being used and worked regularly oh and after the engine and gearbox have been Run in ? Switch to using high quality Synthetic Lubricants. If you start using Synthetics immediately, they can be so good, that things never Run in / or Break in, as it is sometimes called. My last Sailboat - a long Keeled Shallow Draft 1978 Endeavour 32, which had a pretty major refit before I bought it, included a not yet fully run in New Yanmar Diesel. So After everything had been fully checked over, and fully serviced prior to antifouling and Relaunch. I treated it like a fresh out of the box engine and went through Running it in from the start again. When I needed it in earnest, that engine really delivered what I needed as well.❤ Diesels. Bob. 👍🌟🌟🌟⛵️
Did you use discard or active starter. Also you spoke so fast what were the measurements of each please
Hi. Good to watch...but did I miss something? How did you slip without an engine ? Were you pushing the big boat with the little one?
18 feet is small....38 is big.
Hope you guys and the new baby are doing well! Miss your videos!
Thank you Lucy! We are cherishing this time together as a family of three. We have decided to step back from posting videos for the foreseeable future, so we can focus on being a family. ❤️
Aww i’m so glad! This is such a precious time that you don’t get back! Enjoy your new sweet baby! And especially a baby on the boat! So wonderful. We wish you the best!! ❤
The techno soundtrack is really crappy if you could keep away from it please! Most sailors love classical guitar instead thanks!
At 32:55 that soundtrack is really annoying! A lot of times its interesting to see you film the arrival as well where you check out the marina, lounge, town and all..
Great vid! 🎉
Why would you say you were completely alone in the pacific if your mom was with you? Then we see a boat at 12:56 so you were not really, were you? Kind of annoying that you would advertise that in your headline!
hi. i have a range rover diesel engine and i want to switch the engine to the electric one. do you think that would be possible?
Out of curiosity, why would an electric light care if it's gimbal'd or not?
Cool electric how much wheight is your boat😊
I was wondering whether a small PODS container is enough for my move. Thanks for the clip, it is very helpful
Hello no news good news! But when will we be informed of that baby? Is every thing okay?
Hi Dianne! We have a healthy and happy baby boy! We are currently spending time away from our online platform to love on and bond with our son. ❤️
Your music choices are always so spot on! I’m a cat girl I’m terrified in monohulls. The movements are so different.
What time of year did you do this crossing?
Left on Halloween! October/November
Built right
Equipage wise, you should, I believe, look at a dedicated generator. It will use less fuel than your main engine, have similar generating capacity with a smaller driver (since is not doing double duty as prop driver, and provide some power redundancy. Water maker would go with that, if you don’t already have one., so that water tankage isn’t a limitation. You chose one of the more challenging crossings for even an experienced sailor.
Rough seas lol I’ve seen 12ft swells in the bay.
Never ever let water sit for even a second in plastic in the sun. It’s super toxic and one of the biggest causes of cancer. Stores will store it in the sun outside the store. SO CRAZY to think of all the people that drink and can’t taste the plastic in the really bad sun soaked bottles.
Suggestion: it would be helpful for viewers to see "where" you are on a Map to reach your ultimate destination.
I'm very relieved you're not alone out in the great Pacific Ocean. I think the loneliness factor plays a crucial role in very long sea trips. Apparently, your Mom is an experienced yachter, and the cute bird hitched a ride. Brave warriors, happy sailing...
Can I just use my cell phone as the booster hot spot instead of buying the T-Mobile box? If so, how do I make that connection?
this is insanity! just bonkers
What's its name?? What gender?? You should name it copper 😊
I hope you guys are doing OK! You probably had a baby! Hope to see a new video soon!
Hi Lucy! We are waiting for him to arrive! He should be here any week now. 😊 We are taking a bit of a step back from UA-cam as we start this next journey as a family of 3. That way we can soak it all in and don’t have the pressure to film it. We want to be very present. ❤️
Probably one of the best boat tours I have seen. She is a natural at this. I have been binge watching these videos. Great sailing content..
Your title is BS ,why does it say “Alone” when there’s two of you…..
I'm looking at one right now. Any tips or things I should consider when buying a 1989 catalina 42 shoal draft. I love your adventures.
Thanks so much! Always check for a Catalina smile and to just ensure she was well maintained!
@sailingposttime Thank you. I did watch the video of you guys making the purchase and having the boat surveyed. I'm always trying to get ahead of the game. The more I know, the better. I'm very excited to start my sailing journey.
Is this guy Napoleon Dynamite's brother?
Hello how did u get your live aboard license
who’s we ?
I generally like your content but 20 minutes and I don't get to see the finished product of the bed made up with actual human beings on it to see if it will hold. Come on were you just that lazy not to take the cushions out so that it would drop all the way down?
The song at 2:30 is the same one The Why Files uses in his videos. Lol It is actually a really cool song.
Did I calculate right? You got about 10kwh in your battery pack. Add a generator for a series hybrid system, and you got unlimited power with max silence and clean sailing / motoring : ) Can t wait for more shows about the e-drive.
Agree with everything people are recommending, wear shoes, get a wind vane self steering system, learn how to change fuel filters. You guys have big cahones for trying it without the proper gear and experience
Completely Alone in the Pacific....two people 🤦♂
Nice to see how well you work together. I made this trip several years ago from San Francisco with a buddy. Three weeks to Hilo, seven weeks in the islands, and four weeks back from Lihue. Before heading out again you should seriously consider windvane self-steering. Don’t head out without it. It will make a huge difference. This time it will be the trip you will always remember, and for the right reasons. You will be very proud of yourselves. Bon voyage!
*I can watch these sailing videos whole day.*
It’s not a kitchen, it’s a galley!
