Parts of an unsuccessful peal attempt, yours truly on the tenor. Just so you can hear the bells following the overhaul, taken through the sound control floor just above the bells. 12 bells, the largest weighing 32cwt or 1.625 tonnes.

George Garrett, passed away recently at the age of 78, well know as 'Grantham's Gentle Giant'. Ringing the bell up ready for tolling, half muffled (muffle was turned after ringing up) to mark his passing, as the people of Grantham gathered in the streets to pay their respects.

Just a quick video of the tenor being rung up ready for a peal attempt at St Wulframs. UA-cam suggested I'd not posted for a while. You can also see progress on the frame painting, only the first coat! Ringing out the old and Ringing in the New Years. A bit of a rush to get the camera up, ringing increasing and diminishing rounds on the back 6 bells. Midnight struck on the tenor alone 5:05 and some round and called changes to ring in 2024! A little delayed, but this is part of the successful quarter peal rung fully muffled to mark the 1st Anniversary of the Invasion of Ukraine, 24th February 2022/3. Lincoln Cathedral Bell Ringing

A short clip of Little Bob Royal being run at Lincoln Cathedral. I hadn't realised how big the sound chamber was and that the bells are hung quite a way below the tower louvres. Tenor weight 23-3-13 cwt or 1212kg. A complete John Taylor peal, the back eight were cast in 1913, four trebles were added in 1927 and flat 6th in 1946 ( to make a middle eight with 9th as tenor)

On a recent tour with the Fods in Suffolk, the recently overhauled bells of St Gregory, Sudbury, Thomas Mears II 1821 1-7 bells, Pack and Chapman 1774 tenor 14cwt 2qtrs 6lbs. Also in the church the skull (and some skin) of Simon of Sudbury (Archbishop of Canterbury), hacked to death by the mob 14th June 1381, for introduction of a poll tax.

Thanks very much, yep the old tenor stay was cracked, so whilst Taylors were with us, we ordered a new one!

@@PlainBobMinor14325 it still went to up right, before the overhaul, but impossible to get it right one handed, whilst also swinging the tenor. Cant honestly remember why the muffle is opposite side to the tenor.

Beautiful ringing, I love Stedman be it Doubles, Triples, Caters, Cinques, it has such a joyful compared to Bob Doubles for example. I've rung Stedman a few times Doubles and Triples but only covered on the tenor so far. We don't ring many methods in our Tower simply because there's not enough experienced ringers to do this and we have a few learners who are progressing to call changes now. Maybe in the future we may get enough experienced ringers to do some serious method ringing who knows.

It is indeed, the tenor has a nylon shafted clapper; the rest are wrought iron clappers, apart from the 2# which is SG (spherical graphite).

On the occasion and at the time (being organised at very short notice) we had a team of mixed capability, so some bells are ringing 'wrong', but they were being rung in support at the time
