Something a bit different, our first "Music Monday". As well as nicking bent coppers, I also like to compose and produce music. I've got a few projects on the go at the moment, but I thought I'd start by remastering some of my very first tracks that I made back in 2015-16 and let you have them for free. A bit of a video game, electronic vibe. Hope you all enjoy, and if it's not your thing, don'...

    After rewatching this show I’ve noticed a couple of things that gave us a clue that there were three other people that Dot was working with before the reveal of the 4th H at the end of Season 5. When Lynsey Denton was unequited of all charges in court at the end of episode 2 of season 3, three different phones rang at the same time all of the phones belonging to Dot. My therory is that the three phones were for each of the other members of H (Derek Hilton, Gil Biggeloe, Ian Buckles and of course Mathew ‘Dot’ Cotton.

    What’s not to like about Lindsay Denton? She plays the piano, has a gorgeous cat and is handy with a bottle. 😏 I wholeheartedly agree with you that she’s the best character ever and we can’t discount Keeley’s ability to play tough yet incredibly vulnerable and complex women, being the reason that’s possible. She should’ve won ALL the awards and it’s a damn slap in the face that she didn’t! The only negative part about her tour de force performance is that subsequent featured characters pale in comparison. Poor, misunderstood Lindsay. You can tell Jed went out of his way to pile on the sad parts of Lindsay’s life and the incredibly awful things that happen to her. So much so that I’m surprised at the end of S3 where we see her grave, that we didn’t see a bird flying over and sh*tting on her headstone, which of course, is made out of the sh*ttest piece of wood. She solved the whole case! Steve, at least, should’ve showed up. The wee gobshite 🤌🏼 Also, I’ll never forget that Bella, the cat, was treated by Kate as a piece of evidence needing to be bagged. Even in jest it doesn’t sit well with me. She’s a floofy queen and should’ve been returned to her rightful owner 🤨🤌🏼 Good video overall. Could’ve done without the two minutes plus of Clint the Dint Eastwood footage, although I do get your point, and the fact that you forgot to list her cat being taken from her and adopted out to whoever tf, as one of the bad things she had to endure, but otherwise pretty solid. Going to watch S2&3 again and smile when Lindsay exacts her revenge. 💪🏼🙌🏼🙇🏻‍♀️

    Amazed no one seems to have commented on Tommy’s golfing partner seen extremely briefly at the climax of series 1, he’s there for a reason and the brief frame or 2 answers this question. Hindsight is a wonderful thing! However it was noticed at the time because I saw series 4 then five and looked out for series 1-3 afterwards, then watched 4&5 again. Also in my opinion LOD peaked in series 2, Keeley Hawes nailed that character and I was so glad she returned for S3.

    Have to say I completely disagree with you on how she responded to Manish Prassad -he deserved what he got! Maybe that's why I enjoy this character so much, she is pure revenge at time and it's so beautiful to watch! 😍

    Denton and Akers conspired in what they thought would be a bloodless kidnapping of Tommy Hunter. They didn't expect bullets to fly and the car to be set alight - after all, Akers did die as a result. As for the money, it can't have been planted by Arnott. Where would he get such a sum, and in the pollen-marked notes? But would Denton be so careless as to leave it in a handbag around the house, especially as Arnott had become a regular visitor - or (even more unlikely) in the bag when it was at the nursing home, as suggested by AC12? It's just possible the OCG planted the notes - or simply left them there as payment for her to find. This would explain why she thought Arnott had framed her. Akers mentioned a payment to Denton but not how much, and we don't know she agreed to take it - although she did certaily need money. All this would help explain why Denton was seemingly convinced she had done nothing wrong - given that she would have justified conspiring to kidnapp Hunter on moral grounds.

  • @davidrussellhulme2045
    @davidrussellhulme2045 Рік тому

    Interesting character study. But Denton and Arnott DID have a sexual encounter. She played the phone recording and Steve had to admit it. He played down how far it went; even so, it was still inapropriate. Denton said something to the effect she didn't offer the recording as evidence in the trial because it was personal. As her whole case for aquital required the jury to believe her about the inapproproate behaviour, it is difficult to belive she would have done this.

    She was a total reversal of the femme fatale archetype - a deceptively ordinary and mundane woman whose cunning is achieved through that dull persona. Honestly, it's a very unique change from the sexy and charming women being the brilliant but dangerous masterminds - predictable as it is demeaning...

    I've watched all of this recently for the first time, I genuinely enjoyed 4, kept me guessing the whole time. I'm a bit obsessed with 6 although the end was not what I'd imagined, I didn’t love 1, but I'd love to watch it again and spot everything I missed the first time. 3 was the best, Denton returning was brilliant and it wasn't til the end you realised her goals. Amazing TV, not to mention the chase.

      The finale was sadly quite disappointing. I think they could have done a much better reveal if they'd added a bit of backstory, and shown that Buckells wasn't as stupid as he seemed. His interview was way too short.

    Nailed it! And Buckley being the "fourth man" fits as well. But Hilton was the most important of the four and definitely had connections with the "top man" or the highest levels of corruption- hence why his "suicide" forced AC12 to wrap things up. Contrast this with Dot or Biggaloe- those two opened up whole new territories for AC12.

    Cool vid, definitely didnt just finish binging season 2 and 3 untiI 5am. Anyway, Lindsay was great in season 3 but I absolutely loathed her in season 2. I felt her character was actually really inconsistent. If you actually consider how genius she is for most of her time on the show, I find her actions in the early part of season 2 ridiculous. Firstly, the entire plan with Tommy’s ambush is a joke. It is absolute nonsense that all of the officers were unarmed whilst escorting Tommy to the safehouse. There is also no explanation provided for the change in route. Whilst I realise the change of route was unplanned, she didn’t defend herself adequately at all. She has taken 50k sure but even if you assume she is considered innocent, she would deservedly be considered grossly incompetent and I would guess she would lose her job/be demoted in real life. It is equally ridiculous that she seriously assaults her neighbour and also assaults Kate whilst under such heavy scrutiny. I just felt that there was no way late season 2/season 3 Lindsay would have been this shit. As for whether she’s a good person. No way lol. Yes, Tommy is pure evil and you can absolutely make a case that he deserves to die, but conspiracy to murder, whilst taking a bribe to keep quiet from another obviously bent copper? That’s not a good person.

    One thing I've noticed is everyone who turns out to be bent in this series is an insufferable arse. I didn't find Gates particularly likable and this sod irritated me from his first appearance. I was glad to see him go. And Gill. From the onset I knew she was trouble. This is why I'm positive Hastings isn't bent. You can't help but like him. I have yet to watch series 6. I just downloaded it. It doesn't air in Canada.
