My theory is that Terry Boyle lived in 4F Beechwood. Dot was trying to say 4H. H isn't a person or 4 people in Morse code. It's a flat. Davidson possibly tipped off the OCG and created the diversion for them to move the fridges out of Terrys 4F flat and in to the neighbouring 4H flat. The OCG may have the woman in Davidson's photographs held hostage so that Davidson will carry out work for them. The mastermind will be in flat 4H and this will come full circle for Steve after the wrongful death of the man in S1 Ep1.
I love the Buckels theory and I do think the golf clubs in the office are a subtle nod but it's also very possible it's a misdirection from Jed. I think Buckells has probably been advanced beyond his means but I'm not sure that's because he is H. Maybe the real H knows Buckells is harmless / incompetent and is using that to their advantage by placing him where it can be to their advantage. I also think it risks making AC12 look a little incompetent having been around him several times over the last 10 years although to be fair they've had Dot and Jill under their noses without realising before. You missed where DCI Davidson let the suspect go under supervision. That's quite a different tact from the other bent coppers who are targets of AC12 - ignoring reasonable and justifiable lines of enquiry in favor of less reasoned lines has brought detectives into their gaze in the past. As it stands at the moment, letting the suspect go would almost certainly say, not working for the OCG. And MacDonald was fantastic - she always is.

Personally for me, I wouldn't like to see a relationship between Steve and Kate, I think it was slightly teased early on but by end of Series 3, they just felt like good colleagues and I think they have their respective narrative arcs to contend with - Steve's addiction and Kate's marriage completely breaking down and not seeing her son as much. I also think Steve's demeanour may simply be his frustration that they have gone back to low level corruption and that he has stayed loyal to Hastings even in the face of Kate moving on elsewhere. I don't know if anyone else has picked up on it but Davidson was looking towards that road even before the convoy went past, it's only a split second but she definitely looks toward it as they approach - I think that's because she was probably told to divert the convoy there and where this will fall down for her is by the time the convoy went past, the robbers were already in the shop so someone got their timings off - either the OCG were early or Davidson's team were late. I never noticed the golf clubs behind Buckells, that's probably just an easter egg to point us towards him more but I do feel it's looking more likely he is the 'fourth dot'. What I am starting to wonder is whether there is an even more senior officer even above him because Hilton was the most senior officer revealed as part of this cabal but even he seemed to be taking orders and given Dot and Buckells never outranked him, it leads me to think the twist we might get is that Buckells is the fourth dot but he then says there is still someone else in the police pulling all the strings and that leads us into Series 7. I agree the episode was slow but I have rewatched twice and honestly I think it works, it maps out the season ahead quite well and there is an inbuilt narrative for it slowing down in AC-12 being almost stripped back due to their actions in Series 5. Final note, I definitely think there is credence to Chloe being Gates's daughter - I don't think random characters would be introduced for no reason at this point so I suspect we will get that reveal and her narrative will be that she wants to bring down whoever is ultimately responsible for her father having to take his life.
I dont believe Buckles is the H. Why would BBC make it look so obvious from the first episode. Yes he might be part of the OCG but, its too predictable for a show like Line of Duty
The idea that special needs person could be considered as complicit in criminal activity is just bad script writing. The idea simply hasn't got any legs. i In order for a plot to work it has to have a shred of credibility.
I think it's maybe a case of the police being seen to do something. Even if there's no way they could hope to pass the evidence threshold with Terry, it makes it look like the case hasn't gone cold. It could just be DCI Davidson buying herself some time.
I was disappointed in the episode to tell the truth. Beginning to seem a little parodical and silly for me. As for Kelly Macdonald, I thought her performance was nothing short of abject. Wooden, monotone delivery, not remotely believable as a Police Officer. Even if you didn't care for their characters, you couldn't argue with the performance of Keeley Hawes and Thandie Newton and the other guest leads. I thought Macdonald was a huge dud and can only hope this was a one off. I'm not loving the fact that almost EVERY character has to be under suspicion also. It was the first episode where I thought the show seemed tired. I still have enough faith in Mercurio but I'm not holding my breath after that episode.
I've never understood how Kelly MacDonald has had such a successful career. She delivers each line in the same monotone. Every- word-has-the-same-emphasis. Still, she's done well so fair play to her.
I just dont get why Davidson or her corrupt colleagues would have set up an armed robbery to give them time to swap the person in the flat they were on their way to raid with the guy with Downs syndrome. If they had time to set up the armed robbery then they had time to contact the guy and get him out of there. In any case, the surveillance team were back watching the flat when the police team were on their way to the flat because we are shown them communicating with each other so that would indicate that the swap had already occurred so therefore there was no need to stall the raid with a staged armed robbery. I dont care what plays out in future episodes they will have a hard time explaining this in a logical way.
I had a lot of difficulty understanding the lead lady's Scottish accent. I'll have to wait to watch it again on Acorn Media where they have captions I can read what they're saying.
She's got quite a posh Glasgow accent so you'd struggle to understand any working class glaswegian. It's no stronger than Adrian Dunbar's Northern Ireland accent or Vicky McClure's Nottingham accent
Ditto. I turned on captions in English on Britbox via Prime Video for precisely that reason. That said, the more I listened the more comfortable I became with her accent.
The person on Chloe’s computer wasn’t the Chis. They had the same sort of hair but the face was completely different and looked very much like a woman.
Martin Compston is the most convincing character in this. Kate is so annoying she would be redeemed if she did turn out to be bent. Dunbar is just too funny but then there is no actual comedy on the telly anymore so take it where you find it. Kelly is fascinating in that she seems to do very well despite in my opinion barely being able to act her way out of a paper bag. I would take a game of Cleudo more seriously than this show.

The detour before the raid was stupid. Wouldn't happen.
I really like a theory that dot is still alive, maybe chis?
He’s definitely not alive though we say him die. And if he was, than the show was jumped a massive shark
I don’t think that would be a good idea, although I do wish dot stayed till at least series 5
A new Forest shirt! The nerve.
The information of the Chis was on Chloe’s computer before his body was found . Have a look
The person on Chloe’s computer wasn’t the Chis. They had the same sort of hair but the face was completely different and looked very much like a woman.
@@MarcBurrows looked like the Chi’s tome when I enlarged it
Are we all just ignoring "Terry" has had a head transplant?
It's a different actor from the actor in S1, but it's been the same actor since Terry's return in S5.
@@ClemsContent ah ok It somehow went over my head
Martin Compston is the most convincing character in this. Kate is so annoying she would be redeemed if she did turn out to be bent. Dunbar is just too funny but then there is no actual comedy on the telly anymore so take it where you find it. Kelly is fascinating in that she seems to do very well despite in my opinion barely being able to act her way out of a paper bag.
I would take a game of Cleudo more seriously than this show.
I really think Buckles is H, he is atleast bent. Love the Video Tho!
Four flashes from Steve! STEVE IS 'H'! /s
Apparently the AFO who shot one of the robbers was in the S3 finale when Kate chased after Dot.
Yeah that's Sergeant Briggs. He was in the squad, but not sure if he was the one who fired the shot or not.
@@TheSilentRoar Oh right, thanks, maybe he didn’t fire the shot. I wonder who did🤔😮.
@@YCFCfollower I tried to get a better look at the AFO who took the shot. Couldn't get the best view but the shooter looked younger than Briggs imo.
@@TheSilentRoar Interesting!
of course it wouldn't be a bbc production without a token lesbian
Gotten proper woke, this show
It's gone Woke as hell, typical BBC now
