Great video. Looking forward to see the beginning of Series 6 tomorrow and see what is going to happen. Keep up the incredible work and look forward to see what you do next.
@@draganglumac Jed has said that season 7 is yet to be confirmed but that he wants to do one and that the BBC seems supportive. He did confirm that he didn't feel any pressure to wrap up the overarching story in season 6 but that Covid made the process of filming another season more complicated
As much as I love the show, I hope that series 6 or 7 is the last. This is an amazing show but is quickly running the risk of going on too long and undoing it's hard work. The morse code plot line felt like it was thought up and quickly written a few days before filming. I feel like 2 series would be the best as it gives enough time to flesh things out and draw the show to a natural conclusion
Surprised that season 5 has come under the most scrutiny. Always been my favourite series possibly behind series 2. Personally really didn't like season 4. Roz just didn't appeal to me and found the series weaker than the others
I liked some of the mystery building in S4. But Roz's motivations, just generally trying to restart her career, were a bit plain compared to Danny and Lindsay. Hilton wasn't all that great in the main villain role for the season either. S5 was still a solid one despite all the criticism. There was more suspension of disbelief in the some of the plot points, but Adrian reached a whole new level playing Ted in S5, and Stephen Graham nailed his part too.
@@ClemsContent I liked season 5 because it genuinely made us question Hastings, it completely made sense why the police were investigating him. Roz's storyline just seemed plain and a bit dull compared to the other seasons
@@willcroot5528 rozs storyline was dull in your opinion , fair enough. But season 4 as a whole wasn’t dull if you actually think about it. Try remember what actually happened
@@natalie.s7226 I've literally just rewatched all 5 seasons this past week in preparation for season 6. Was still good but just found myself not particularly caring for Roz. The finale was good and the twist with Steve's injury was good but just found Roz and Nick plain boring
Hey can you do a spotlight on DCI Huntley (Thandie Newton's character). After Keeyley Hawes character I think hers is right up there as one of the best.
I just don't buy that Mercurio would do something as bad as the Morse code thing without good reason. The first video we saw (the one Hilton got from Maneet) is markedly different from the one we saw at the end of season 5. In the latter, Kate asks for two letters; in the former she only asks for one. So it's pretty feasible that the reason Steve had never noticed the hand gesture before was that he'd never seen it. He'd only seen the doctored version Hilton had used to frame Ted, not the original containing the hand gesture and Kate asking for two letters (Dot not blinking for A as the second letter could have helped to rule out Hastings). AFO Briggs, the officer whose bodycam the footage came from is on the cast list for this season, so I think we are probably looking at a doctored video, That raises questions about Kate and how the original came to appear in the final interview. Either Kate had just completely forgotten that she asked for two letters instead of one because of the stress she was under at the time and therefore never clocked that the video had been doctored... I can just about buy that. Or she did remember and has known all along that the video was doctored, in which case she is heavily involved in a cover up. But how did the original find its way into the Hastings interview? One theory I have is that Kate has been working with AC-3 since she sought permission from them to investigate Dot & Hastings in S3. She was aware of the video being doctored, told AC-3 about it, and they decided that framing Hastings was no bad thing because they knew he was guilty of the things they were investigating but couldn't pin anything on him and/or have designs on a power grab from AC-12. When Brandyce was sacked, she replaced the doctored version with the original out of revenge. But I'm not totally happy with Kate being happy to pin something as serious as 'H' on Hastings, unless they've been investigating him for very serious things that happened in NI? I can't really think of another explanation for how the original video made it into the Hastings interview. Who else could know it'd been doctored and have reason to put it into the Hastings interview?
I have always felt the assertion of one other (H) and latterly up to 4 key crims in or associated with the police is misguided. It has all come about from Steve deducing the meaning of Dot tapping his fingers whilst busy dying. Look closely and you will see a slight pause between tap 2 and 3. If he was tapping out morse code, it wasn’t 4 dots (H), it was 2 dashes followed by 2 dots , spelling M I. However I am not sold on the morse code thing at all. How many baddies? At the end of S3E3 dot has loads of phons going off. Whilst he could be a big fan of takeaway, assuming the callers were connected with his naughty ways, there were 4 callers (5 in the intro to E4. if we take Gill, Hilton and Dot to be part of the gang, there is at least another 2 out there. Looking forward to Sunday!
Have you seen two secret clips, they are on Reddit, the first is Steve asking his former girlfriend from series 2 (not Sam) to join her team, and he says "I should be calling you ma'am" indicating she has been promoted to a DI, although Steve does decline being in a relationship saying "what with us working together?, now Steve hasn't been the most professional when it comes to relationship so I think that's an excuse and he is really pretending to leave ac 12 to either investigate her or her team. The second clip shows DCI Davidson, DI Fleming and two other detectives in a car on their way to arrest a suspect connected to Gail Vella, but she orders two armed vehicle's to stop a robbery at a buckies instead, and one of the officers shoot a man with a pump shotgun.
@@samarabingbong5679 I saw the one with Steve's ex-girlfriend, Nicola Rogerson, where they talked about him leaving AC-12. Looks like Steve could be going undercover!
I want a MW2 vibe where both Fleming is expelled from the police for being H and arnott is also expelled for joining her because he knows she is not H. now they are off the grid, Hastings is H after convincing us he’s not in season 5 as he makes calculated decisions at certain times to keep face. He uses beckelles as a scrap goat and wanted to take down Tony gates in season 1 because gates was getting close to his identity so he put arnott on him. Finally, after piecing all the evidence and realising that they will be sent to prison, they plan to kill Beckelles but Hastings is there and kills both and after giving us a sly smirk before the end credits. That will be my dream but alas I don’t think it’s meant to be.
I don't really get the hate for Season 5. The Morse Code twist actually makes sense for Dot (he's spent 15 years working secretly for a crime gang while running police intel ops, ofc codes like that would be natural to him). Was it kind of a convenient twist? Yes, but I don't think it's "bad". At the same time Corbett was in my opinion just as much of an interesting character as Lindsay, and he gets an even more tragic ending. I don't think Kate will be an OCG operative, it would make no sense with her apprehension of Dot and how angry she was with him over covering for the Sands View abusers.
All I want is to see Steve get promoted ffs! & I wish ds sam doesnt get romantically sucessful with steve, that bitch left steve when he needed her most.
