    My Frigidaire trips the breaker soon as I press start. Do you think it’s the same issue?

    • @thelarewsdo
      @thelarewsdo 2 дні тому

      Sounds plausible that the switches are the culprit. That would be a good place to start. They can be tested individually with a multimeter to rule them out.

      @thelarewsdo 2 дні тому

      Hey, Check back through previous comments, this is kind of a common issue also. I'd say one of your other switches is welded together and is stuck in the "on" position. The switches can be carefully split apart and unwelded, assuming they're not too damaged, or they can be replaced by purchasing them on Amazon or digi key. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. Have a wonderful day!

    I wonder what attic stairs they decided to get?

    • @thelarewsdo
      @thelarewsdo 2 дні тому

      Hey, It is a Centry Elite Aluminum Attic Ladder from Lowes. The only complaint we have is that the length of the fold out legs aren't equal, which makes our situation difficult. For instance, if our attic ladder is 9 ft, it tri-folds out 3ft, 5ft, & 1ft instead of something better like 3ft, 3ft, & 3ft. Hope that makes sense and helps! Have a wonderful day!

    • @thelarewsdo
      @thelarewsdo 5 днів тому

      Yep, I'd say one of your other switches is welded in the closed position and can't "shut off" like it's supposed to. They can carefully be taken apart and unstuck assuming they aren't too damaged. Or snag the part # off the side and order you replacements from Amazon or digikey. Let me know how it goes. Great video showing the dust test of these products. Most if not all autodetailing products have some form of silicone polymers (some have carnauba wax) that will cause dust, dirt, other contaminants to stick to your car. The best way to avoid all of that is to use products that does not leave SLICKNESS after application. A simple car wash such as the blue ONR, dry with a plush microfiber towel, if you're concerned of marring dilute a spray bottle with ONR 64:1 for a drying aid (16:1 will cause streaking and hazying), and you're good to go. Of course, having a base layer such as Griot's Garage 3-in-1 ceramic wax will make life a whole lot easier to do maintenance washes. I have a spray bottle diluted with ONR 64:1 as my quick detailer/drying aid in my car trunk when I need to get rid of that stupid bird bomb.

    How does the latch contact 3 switches with 2 hooks?

    • @thelarewsdo
      @thelarewsdo 8 днів тому

      Hey, The two " points" of the hooks actuate one switch each and the round part of the bottom hook (I think it was the bottom) also press in on the third. That's the one that has the issues. Once there is alittle play in the door latch the monitor switch can change state before the other two. Hope that makes sense. Watch the video again and you should be abile to see it, now that you know what to look for. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Have a wonderful day.

      @@thelarewsdo Got it ! I have no problem with the switched ( I dont think) as the latch spring holder broke off, Of course they dont make them anymore, but I found one that has the same dimension and am waiting for it to arrive. While I have it apart I held the latch with door open and pressed down on the top and bottom switch and fuse blew. I knew that it had to do something with the middle switch mounted near the bottom but I did not pull out plastic piece that holds switches and could not see how the middle switch was activated. I had a latch spring holder break on a previous microwave and I drilled a new hole to hold the spring. There is much less room to drill to hook a spring on with this latch. the GE latch I found was placed on a one inch square graph paper to show dimensions and I made same grid paper and everything matched up. With my luck it will be slightly off.. worth a try for $9.00. Luckily I keep a spare microwave in attic for times like these. I paid a fortune for this and it is 3 months past warranty. If it comes down to it I can print a 3d copy or make a mold. Im the typr of person who will try and make things work by making my own parts. I remember using rubber bands for my VCR when they no longer made belts for it.

    Great video, much appreciated. Question. Your saying that your circuit breaker gets popped when this issue happens. Wouldn't the fuse blow first? I have went through 5 fuses in last 8 months and I finally (duh) decided to dig into the root cause. I saw your video and just replaced all three door switches. Fingers crossed. If it happens again, I will disconnect the monitor switch as you suggested. If that doesn't do.......I'm done! LOL. Thanks again for your video help.

      Hey, You're welcome and thank you! The fuse is protecting the control circuit, but the monitor issue is on the power side; That's why it blows the breaker. Let me know how it goes. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel Have a wonderful day!

      @@thelarewsdo Hi again. Well dangit!! After 10 days the fuse blew again. Do you think by unpluging the monitor switch (which was popping your circuit breaker) this might finally solve my fuse blowing issue? Many thanks again!

      Hey, At this point, you wouldn't be out of anything to give it a try. What style and amperage of fuse are you using? (slow blow or fast blow style fuse)

      Hey, Pressing the stop button doesn't stop it? This is a response I sent to another individual, it may help. "It sounds like the tips of the switches talked about in the video are melted together. Test the three switches by pressing the little white buttons that stick out of the sides of them. ( make sure your microwave is unplugged ofcourse) If the button doesn't click that's your culprit. You can remove the problem switches one by one and open/split the sides to see the internals. Next, use a small screwdriver and carefully pop the tips back apart then reinstall them. Hope this helps." Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Have a wonderful day!

    OK, so basically everything that’s wrong with it besides, the steps that can be easily fixed by applying adhesive tape is because you bought the wrong size. Got it, thanks.

    • @thelarewsdo
      @thelarewsdo 3 місяці тому

      Hey CaptainMcFarthead, We bought the appropriate size for the opening, but the inefficient design of the hinges overly decreased the size of the opening. This rendered the space unusable for anything other than occasional attic access, and only as long as you are of small stature. That is the point we are trying to get across. If one has intentions of using this to access the attic to store stuff they will not be able to even get a normal sized tote through the hole after the ladder is installed. Thank you for watching and the sunshine you bring to the world. Have a wonderful day!

    • @thelarewsdo

      There are door springs that support the door and add resistance when lowering the door. I'd bet one or bothe of them has broken and that's why when the wash cycle completes it kicks all the way open. I'll check ours once we get home from Easter dinner. The springs are inexpensive and shouldn't be too bad to replace. Happy Easter to you as well! 😀 Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. Have a wonderful day!

    This happened to me this morning, and as a result, the breaker trips every time I attempt to use the microwave now. When I hit start, it automatically shuts down and the breaker flips. Will this fix that too? I can stop opening the door while it's in use, but mine isn't even letting me use it ever since this happened.
