Thank you so much. Wasn't able to access the settings until I followed your first directions.
Glad we were able to help! Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day!
I came across your video by mistake, but what a blessing it was! We've had our dishwasher for over 3 years with no issues, but a couple of months ago it randomly stopped popping open. Your very first suggestion, to check the settings, worked! I have no idea how it was turned off, but it was (kids messing with it???) I changed the setting and it worked last night! Thank you!!!
Yay! We are so very happy to hear that you were able to resolve the issue quickly and easily!! Those buttons are so easy to mistakenly press, so it may have accidentally been disabled. Thank you for watching and have a fantastic day!!
Very helpful. Thank you. I read instructions several times and did not get it. it was better once I figured out the lock had to be off for settings to work.
Wonderful! Glad we were able to help! Thank you for watching. Have a wonderful weekend.
It worked !!! A bit of dielectric grease on the latch, exercising the solenoid paddles and the dishwasher door opened just like it used to !!! Thanks for the tip and for saving me the misery of a service call since the tech service folks on the phone didn't have a clue what was preventing the door from opening. The dishwasher is only a month old. Much appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Bill!
That's wonderful news! Thank you for letting us know; hearing about your success has helped make our day. 😀

Thank you, hope it helped.
Have a wonderful day.
Watched your video. I have an F4 setting after the A1. What does that mean? Thanks
Hey Jay,
I believe that is your rinse aid level setting menu. F4 is the default. You can select from F1 (minimum) to F5 (maximum).
Thank you for watching and supporting the channel.
Have a wonderful day!
Thank
@@thelarewsdo Thanks. Haven't ran the dishwasher since looking at your video. Hope your solutions work🤞
How do you like the dishwasher in general? Thinking about buying but after reading reviews have some concerns…
How does it clean?
Is it drying OK when the door works properly?
Have you had issues with the bottom bar detaching or not working properly?
Would you recommend another brand over this one? any thoughts on GE’s?
Hey Deana,
We like it. Occasionally, you'll get a dirty dish here and there and the drying is good. Last night we ran a load on express 60 (the fast cycle works as good, if not better, than the normal 2hr 28min cycle) and this morning everything is clean and dry (except a small shaker cup that got flipped over, and the rims of the pyrex lids). It all depends on the shape of the dish that you're putting in there. If there's a surface that the water can lay on, it will be wet. It is very quiet and we don't feel like any of its issues are enough to ever think about changing it out.
After almost 2 yrs. of running it once every day or 2 days, we've had no mechanical issues other than needing to lubricate the door latch.
We don't really have any additional recommendations because we don't have a level of experience with any other washer like we do with this one. In our circle of friends, I know that the electrolux was very problematic and whirlpool required a new pump, but my mother in law is also a black cloud when it comes to appliances. 🤔
We hope we were able to help. Please let us know what direction you end up going and how it works out.
Thank you for watching and have a wonderful day!
Hello , What would you say about general performance of dishwasher when it comes to cleaning and drying? i have heard lot of negative reviews that it doesnt dry enough and dishes arent clean!
Hey!
It cleans really well. We add powder to the dispenser and then a teaspoon thrown in for the pre-wash. The drying is fair. We set ours to run over night to give the dishes time to air dry also and that helps.
We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions and thank you for watching!
@@thelarewsdo Thank you for the information , helps me do the purchase!
Is the latch spring loaded or does the latch have an electronic mechanism inside that unlatches it I just got this delivered haven’t installed it yet I took the packing stuff off the front to get the manuals out and now the door won’t close I’m hoping it’s an electric mechanism in the door if not I have a factory dud
Ours is just a spring loaded latch. Are the "door opener" solenoids sticking out and preventing it from closing? Hope this helps. Let us know. Thanks for watching
@@thelarewsdo I’m assuming the door openers and latch work together off a sensor but yes the latch is electronic and appears to be in closed position I put the plug on to try and see if a few buttons would do it I followed your video and a few others I guess I can take it apart or have it repaired under warranty just frustrating
Hello, I purchased the same dishwasher 2 days ago and I used it twice now. The 3rd rack is not cleaning. I loaded spatulas and knives. They come out with food on them. Any issues with your 3rd rack cleaning? Any suggestions for loading?
Hey Michele,
We use to have some issues and still do occasionally depending on the food and how loaded the dishwasher is. A few things that we do to help are:
1. Run the hot water at the faucet that the dishwasher is attached to. This makes sure that the dishwasher prewashes with warm water vs cold water until the line is flushed. We also use the water we are purging from the hot water to hand wash the real messy stuff so we're not just wasting water.
2. We uses liquid detergent and will fill the detergent reservoir to the appropriate level and then also squeeze a thin line across the base of the door below the reservoir. This seems to make the prewash cycle more effective.
We hope this helps!
Thank you for watching and have a wonderful day!
Seems like you are still answering comments. My dishwasher opens but it opens about 70 degrees. Not sure what to do.
Hey!
When the wash cycle is complete normally the door will pop open about 3"-4" inches. Is this what you're referencing?
@thelarewsdo yes. It's opening about 2 or 3 feet. Happy Easter!
There are door springs that support the door and add resistance when lowering the door. I'd bet one or bothe of them has broken and that's why when the wash cycle completes it kicks all the way open. I'll check ours once we get home from Easter dinner. The springs are inexpensive and shouldn't be too bad to replace.
Happy Easter to you as well! 😀

Do you know what that little snowflake next to the time mean?
MACTEP,
That symbol indicates your dishwasher is low on rinse aid and needs a refill!! If you have any other questions, please let us know! Thanks for watching!
Hey!
Yes, that is an just indicator that your rinse aid reservoir is low. Most of the dishwasher detergents have rinse aid built in ,but if yours doesn't you can add some to the reservoir and it should go out.
Thank you for watching!
Haha, Sorry for the double answer. We both answered you seperately without knowing.
Have a wonderful day!
Does it work now?
Yes, it does!
My door kicks open but the fan no longer kicks on to dry the dishes. Any idea why the fan stopped kicking on? We have only had the dishwasher a few months and was working fine. But now the fan doesn't kick on so the dishes are always soaking wet.
Hey David,
Sorry we missed seeing your comment. Were you able to find a solution for your problem? Just in case it's a glitch with the control settings, my initial thought would be to go into the settings and cycle through the commands turning on and off each one. Ultimately, arrive back at the default settings you would like and see if that changes things. If that doesn't work it sounds like it's deeper into the system, maybe the fan motor gave up the ghost or the connector for it came loose.
Thank you for watching.
Thank you, just bought a Samsung dishwasher DW80R5061US, it's only a couple of weeks old but I notice a rotten eggs smell from the dishes and cups after it's done cleaning. We do pre-rinse everything before putting them in the dishwasher. The dishwasher is Not connect to the garbage disposal. Any ideas or thoughts?
Hey Rony,
My first instinct would be to ask you to fill a 5 gallon bucket 3/4 full with straight hot water from your tap. Then see if you smell the egg smell in the bucket and do the same with cold water. If you smell it in both then it could be caused by a contaminant in your water supply. If it's only the hot water, it's likely an issue with your hot water heater.
We hope this helps. Let us know if we can help you further. 😀
@@thelarewsdo thanks but the water is fine. We had a whirlpool dishwasher there for 12 years but it went bad never smelled anything bad from it. It's something within the Samsung. I contacted them, they sent a tech, he didn't do much.
Ok, water is off the list. I'm still leaning towards a heating element possibly being the culprit, so next question: Does it do it on all cycle types? For instance, If you just press "Normal" with no other options ( Hi -Temp or Sanitize) selected and run the wash does it still smell?
@@thelarewsdo yes i tried every single cycle. Auto, normal, heavy... Same issue. Not even our super old one (before the Whirlpool) did that.
Hmm, ok. Well, everything sounds positive. By that I mean we've eliminated the water and dishwasher operation processes as the issue.
Last one: Have you checked for food in the filter?(Remove the bottom rack and follow the manual cleaning steps), cleaned around the door gasket? Is there any chance that there is a kink in the dishwasher drain hose that wouldn't allow for the food particles to completely flush free of the line?
If you've eliminated those variables, try putting one cup of white vinegar in a bowl on the top rack and run the dishwasher through the hottest cycle. We use vinegar to clean our front-load Samsung washing machine a few times a year and it works like a charm.
Let me know...I'll keep brainstorming.
Hi my dishwaher door is not locking ...what should i do? Thank you
Hello,
Have you tried adding the mission automotive silicone to the post that sticks out of the dishwasher? This should help lubricate the locking mechanism, assuming it is a mechanical issue. Otherwise, I'm sure there's an electrical solenoid that triggers the lock that could be the culprit. But first let's try adding a little lubricant to the mechanism.
We hope this helps!
Thank you for watching!
What do you do when the door release plungers will not go back in and you cannot close your dishwasher?
Good morning Danita,
The plungers are pushed out by an electrical signal from the dishwasher and pulled back in by a spring. That being said, make sure the dishwasher is powered off and gingerly "wiggle" the plunger to see if it is just a little bit hung up or slightly out of alignment and binding up so that the spring can't pull it back in. (We also put a touch of the mission automotive lubricant on the plunger when manually exercising it.)
Have you ever tried to close the door within 2 min after the auto release activated? If so you could have possible damage the auto release solenoids.
Thank you for watching, let us know if this helps.
@@thelarewsdo thank you for your reply, this is awesome! Everything seems to be aligned. the two mechanisms that push the dishwasher open for auto dry will not go back in. They are the reason the dishwasher will not close. We can see them sticking out. I have tried turning the auto open button off and I still get nothing 🤷♀️ my 1-year warranty expires this month 😳
Our plungers in the off position stick out approximately 3/8 of an inch. What do yours measure? Is there a possibility your issue is from where the metal latch goes into the door?
Mine was set correctly but dishes are still wet! Now what?
Hey,
Is your door kicking open?
YES - IT DOES OPEN BUT STUFF IS STILL WET. I ADDED THE JETDRY AND CHECKED THE SETTING FOR IT TO POP OPEN. ANY IDEA WHY? THANK YOU!
Hey,
Do you notice a fan running after the door pops open ? Also, which settings are you washing with? We use 'normal' and have noticed that the quick setting leaves the dishes more wet.
I don’t think I noticed a fan running! Maybe that’s why? I’ve run the washer according to the troubleshooting which says to set it to Sanitize, and I checked the setting for the door opening.
That could be it. Shortly after our door kicks open, a fan runs to evacuate the steam then 3-5 min later the "finished" music plays.
This was a great help thanks
Shawn, so glad this helped! Thank you for watching!
