Chipping with the NEW Woodland Mills TF 810 PRO PTO chipper

Got the new Woodland Mills TF810 Pro PTO Chipper out and put it through its paces today. Very impressed with the build quality and it was definitely heavier than I had imagined when paired with the Ford 2810! To my surprise the chipper did even better than I though on the Ford 2810 since it is only 32pto hp, that old school tractor torque definitely saves the day being only 32 hp though! If you...

    So is the Light 04 better than the Rollomatic E bar in long term? The light uses 1,3mm chain rather than the 1,6mm on the Rollomatic so it cuts faster but wouldn't it make it last less?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres 3 місяці тому

      I’m not all that impressed with it, I just got a 16” sugihara light to replace it. Metal seems a lot softer than the sugihara, the sugi has a lot more spring also. I thought for sure I bent my 24” sugi, a log rolled over the bar and bent it 30 degrees and it sprung back perfectly straight. That sold me on their bars.

    I recently purchased this stump grinder and used it with my Yanmar SA 325 tractor on a very large oak stump. The grinder performed well. I copied the backup camera idea from Timber Visions channel. It is a game changer in my opinion. I was able to precisely place my cutting disk on every pass. Leaf blower is a tremendous asset also.

      @@foggyvalleyacres how big can you go, chunk log size?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres 5 місяців тому

      Length wise I think 36” is the max length they sell, diameter I have done a few 35-40” logs. They are a lot of work doing big diameter logs but they make the wood stack add up quick.

    If youre going to clean this much of your saw, you really need to go ahead and replace your air filter and spark plug. No reason to service it this far without doing so.

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres 5 місяців тому

      That is a good point, it is probably due for a plug, filter is only a few months old though.

    First view! Thanks for the overview. Is the Light 04 an actual light bar or is it just marketing from Stihl?

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres 5 місяців тому

      Mostly marketing, however it is lighter because it is a thinner version of the rollomatic bar. I have a sugihara on my 462, I would go that route if I were to get another one.

    • @JMOP2020
      @JMOP2020 5 місяців тому

      The "light" bars are the new bars coming standard from STIHL all in .325 pitch. It is an attempt from them to somewhat standardize their bars and chains. They will all be .50g in the future.

    Did you run the mtronic reset before testing the saw after the muffler mod?

      Did it wake up even more over time? I’m just asking in regards to you saying that you had noticed a slight difference but not as much as some people made it out to be. I was jw if doing the reset would’ve made it a more noticeable difference

    Can anyone help, please? The Ms261-c ( "18 Light 04 bar) states a 4.8mm file... But, when sharpening, I'm finding that the aforementioned file barely fits in the gullet? Seems too tight and awkward to sharpen, but it states it's the correct file? Any advice, please? From "England'istan".

    • @foggyvalleyacres
      @foggyvalleyacres 6 місяців тому

      if you are running a .325 pitch chain it should take 4.8mm or 3/16 file. If it is a new chain (first time sharpening) I have had them not be a perfect fit but that is normal. They are usually close and dont't take much filing to shape to the file.
