Stihl MS 261 C-M This Tree DELIVERED!

This tree delivered and the Stihl ms 261 c-m chewed away at cutting this Cherry. This dead cherry log that had been downed for a few years has been looked over for the last few years of firewood season since it wasn't blocking any trails but it turned out to make quite a bit of good firewood. I was worried when I got this out in the open that it was going to be rotted and not much usable wood but this log DELIVERED some solid firewood.

I wanted to get it a few years ago but it’s all I can do to keep trails open most of the time! It will make some nice firewood and wood for the smoker! Thanks for stopping by, come back anytime!

What mix ratio are you using for the sthil chainsaw? I’m currently using a 5 to 1 ratio for my saws and it works great 👍
I run amsoil saber at 50:1 mix ratio

Do yourself a favor and get a saw that is capable of handling a longer bar. Even just a couple of inches longer will keep you from bending over all the time. Definitely saves the back. I went from a 40 cc saw to a 60 cc saw and an 18" bar to a 24" bar. I appreciate every inch of that longer bar.
I have a longer bar, I just prefer the 16” bar on the 261. I plan on getting a 462 with a 24” bar in a few months to have a saw for larger logs for that reason. Thanks for the input, I appreciate you stopping by 👍🏼

Thanks, I have the 261 and 462 also. A great saw combo to have in my opinion. I use full chisel 90% of the time, semi chisel cutting muddy wood or cutting stumps off. I run amsoil saber 50:1 for premix oil.
Great saw! And each saw/bar has a purpose and a reason……otherwise everyone would use the same saw all the time and for all situations. Folk’s forget, sometimes it’s not all about how big and how long. I find, that a nice smaller pro saw like the 261c and a medium saw like the 362/400 match up with a larger saw/bar like the 500/661 will cover most situations……IMHO 🪵⛓🪚👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
One of the best saws you can own in my opinion, very versatile saw. Yeah, you are right I prefer to have 2 saws, 261 with a 16”, and 462 with a 24” takes care of most of my situations. Thanks for watching Rick, take care my friend.
