CIDOO does not provide source code as required by the GPL license for the QMK firmware. Please do not purchase their products unless they come into compliance with copyright laws. The WPTO makes these applicable world wide.
Thank you. Which is better: CIDOO C75 or M1W V3 HE-SP or M1 V5 VIA?
Its absolutely crazy how I had to do hours of research and tinkering on why the software didn't work on my keyboard and how to add the JSON file to the software because there wasn't a clear instruction on how to add the JSON files. Not even in the manual or software helper. ALL BECAUSE OF THAT ONE LITTLE DETAIL NOT MENTIONED ANYWHERE (7:07) "Just activate the Design tab" Apparently, I'm just dumb like that but I really didn't associated Design tab with DEV mode. I thought it was a customize how the software looks/colors thank you Caloy
Is this more or less the same board as a GMK87 on AliExpress? I think Zuoya make them.
Do you know what pcb can work with the v65 if you want to replace it. On the finalkey version it comes with screw ins and a fr4 plate but that is too expensive in my country.
How many layers of tape did you use?
man those asa pbt doubleshots sound amazingggg
I listened to the haters and lubed my browns so much that the scratch disappeared. They lost their character completely. No scratch, muted sound. The scratch is delicious and I want some accustic feedback too. I ordered new ones yesterday and I will only swap the springs and film them. No lube, because it makes the browns feel like a rubberdome.
How the heck do I map keys on this thing? shoot!
Hey, can you tell the name of that cable you are using with keyboard?
Awesome review! I recently ordered that same set you ordered because I absolutely love the design of them. Bit of a weird question but did you notice an easier time pressing the cerakey keycaps over the ABS ones? They're probably significantly heavier than regular keycaps so I wanted to know if you could feel their own weight making keys easier to press. It's only a concern I have because I currently use 87g springs in my switches and if it makes a notable difference due to the weight, I'll probably have to get 100g springs to offset that sensation maybe.
IMO 87g should be fine. Cerakeys recommends switches 55g
May i know whats the keycaps at 17.27? Thank you
I have a pretty silent keyboard and I like the sounds with this even better. I really don't want the loud keys. I have a split Kinesis keyboard so already am used to the 6 key being on the right hand and now reach for it with my right even when on a standard inline keyboard. I have that same problem of the pipe key being mistaken by my pinky for the backspace on another of my split keyboards and with the ABM it looks like the distance is that similar distance. I love your idea of reassigning the pipe as a backspace. Programming pipe and backslash could be mapped to that second "b" or maybe the actually backspace. I was interested if you tested the NKRO which they advertise it as. My Kenesis is only 6KRO and I need more Keypresses to do steno. I think this would work well as a steno mod board if it truly has full NKRO.
Bro where can I buy those all might keycaps? 🚀🚀
for the price and me personally liking the silent switches, that for 100$, its a steal.
Steal is very apropos. CIDOO steals their firmware as they do not provide source code for their QMK firmware as required by the GPL. Please avoid their products until they come into compliance with legal requirements.
i see the community gif, good to see :)
Anyone who is irritated at using browns have never used a typewriter. Browns are actually very pleasant to use. This new generation is really too weak to even argue about keyboard switches.
This board really makes the Chalky sound
Hi, do you know how to change clock, date & time on the screen? I can't figure out! Thank you
I think it syncs automatically when you open the image tool.
@@CaloysKeyboards thank you so much!! I’ll try it
8:59 if you are wondering about the manual switch on the back
Thanks so much for the disassembly. One of my switches wasn’t working and I had to repair the pad 😢
I love when the mechanical switches are kinda noisy.
I think the plastic film also provides protection to the PCB from shorting due to the PE foam sheet
how u can order crazed blue with legend? 1 month ago? holyshit, im waiting it.
Zerosky keycaps is another great artisan shop in the Philippines. They have some of the best I've seen, especially for gundam.
Have you ever had the knob screen just go black? Mine doesn't seem to work :(
Which switch brands don't leak lube and last the longest?
Cherry, Gateron and Kailh. Their switches in my opinion, have the highest leaf quality that can last very long. For the lube, it's advice that you re-lube the switch, as the pre-lubed was never a good choice for long-term using.
Hi... What would you recommend between Epomaker Shadow S vs Epomaker th80 Pro?
Name keycaps in the thumbnail please😭
NP Crayon from KBDFans. Pretty old set not sure if you'll still be able to find it, unfortunately.
Please help- How do I set left ALT key to Windows key? I'm in VIA and having trouble locate Windows key from left side menu but other keys I can find.
It should be under BASIC, near the end of the list. It's Left Win, Right Win, Left Alt, Right Alt, and so on.
@@CaloysKeyboards hey thanks so much! My eyes was looking for “Win” but I found it like you said, “Left Win” and “Right Win”. 💕💕💕
How do you sync its time and date screen with the computer's correct time and date?
I believe it'll sync when you open the image tool.
I dont hate browns but I prefer newer silent tactiles like the Blueish whites
Guys who´s having an issue to open the JSON fiile, I found out how to solve. (pls fix this comment) First, check if you are not plugging 2.4Ghz and USB (just use ONE USB). Then, click in authorize device. If it doesn´t solve, go to settings and show design tab and then you upload the JSON file.
Hey i need help ;c when i want to load the json file, this message appears: "object should not have additional properties"
First, check if you are not plugging 2.4Ghz and USB (just use ONE USB). Then, click in authorize device. If it doesn´t solve, go to settings and show design tab and then you upload the JSON file.
Great content! I'm wondering if you've had the chance to try out Awekeys metal keycaps. Any insights on how they stack up?
they feel really inconsistent :( tested sets from my friends and some of them have gaps so wide and height difference that I cant ignore. I guess its just up to whether if you won the cerakey jackpot 😩
I believe that is just the nature of the material. Ceramics have been historically hard to get consistent 100% of the time. Just take a look at your average coffee cups. They may all look the same but they are each very different when closely inspected. In this instance we closely inspect each key and if there are imperfections on one row say R3, the bottom or top row will get affected by it.
Oh, ive just bough 2 sets of them, ty for review!
UPDATE: The replacement spacebar arrived literally a day before my scheduled upload date lol. Unfortunately, it still seems to have the same issues. If you ever have spacebar problems, it seems like the best thing to do is just to use the included Kailh Box Dark Yellow switch or some other heavy switch. The snagging still occurs but only when you press really slowly and only right at the top of the key press so you’ll never really notice it during normal use.
I personally prefer clicky switches, and my favorite so far is the Razer Purple Switch. However, I can't use clicky ones at work, so I use MX Browns there. They are the best non-clicky switches I have tested so far. I don't like MX Reds (and all the light linears) at all; they are too easy to trigger and cause many unintentional keystrokes. MX Blacks are a little too tiring for my taste, but I wouldn't consider them bad. I have never tested any other non-clicky tactile switches apart from MX Browns (excluding cheap Chinese ones that I don't count). I also haven't tested any linear switches that fall in the MX Brown ballpark (between MX Red and MX Black).
maraming thank you for this!! you gained a subscriber in me. :)
This or Galaxy80?
Nice vid mate
Whats bad about scratchy?
Pretty much all of this is down to personal preference. It seems like a lot of people dislike how scratchy switches sound and feel.
About adaptability: With enough practice, you will learn to switch layouts on the fly with no issues. There is at least one typist on UA-cam (NoThisisJohn) that I've seen who can switch between Colemak, Dvorak and Qwerty on the fly without his wpm suffering at all. And those layouts require significantly more adaptation than an Alice layout.
I ran the custom tool download to virustotal and it detects malware on it. Are you aware of this?
Gateron Oil King or Box Ink V2? Which one? Why?
I've had the Cherry MX Brown for about a year in my Odin R3 and they have been great, after lubing - they really REQUIRE LUBING! Stock hyperglides are bleh, but the improvement of lubing is massive and I believe their improvement to be much greater than many other switches... ...anyways, now that I'm running prelubed Gateron Oil Kings, I don't bother with it anymore. But the browns will be my dependable backup switches.
Alice is such a relief on the wrists. Helped me get rid of tennis/golf elbow issues too.
This looks like an interesting entry point to Alice keyboard layouts, but the lack of a windows key is a complete dealbreaker for me. I navigate multiple virtual workspaces on my PC hundreds of times in a day. Not having that key would completely destroy my workflow.
You can map it to a different key using VIA but then you'd have to get used to the new location 😊
Late to this 'hobby' but not sure what the fuss is about key sound. I'd been under impression it was all about the switch activation for typists. And I was just looking for a smaller 'ergo' style keyboard. But I start to understand why they ship mushy silent switches as first choice. They know someone coming from a non-mechanical keyboard would understand how they feel and not freak out. I ended up with an Ajazz and glad I didn't end up with one of these because that mode key would have bothered me. But it does make finding key cap packages with two 2.75U spacebars hard. Switch making seems like a good gig these days with hobby builders wanting to try bunches of flavors.
