Status Quo - John Eden the Remix of Baby Boy
As much as I am emotionally connected with the original version I found on the LP I bought some one hundred years ago I do agree with this remix mainly because of John Eden's emotional reaction on this track.
Many a musician/writer/artist, like myself, is long on creativiety, short on technology. How you meld the right & left brained wizardry is staggering. The mastery & magic of your practical artistry is like another language from another planet. You have every right to be emotional & proud. Thnaks for your talents. May your tribe ever increase...
Nice work . Yep, the engineer is the final editor of the epic.
He pisses all over pip Williams productions
Is there any chance he left songs you could yet produce?

Great stuff, love this
this album never had enough bass, always sounded tinny
I always come back to these. So interesting.
TG. John,u bring this album back to what it shudda been.great tnks
I tried putting my cd of rocking all over the world in the oven on gas mark 5 175 degrees overnight...but in the morning I just had a blob of plastic... temperature too high?
John, I'm a foreigner and it's sometimes hard for me to hear the correct lyrics when the music plays, even when I'm on headphones. I'd be very grateful, could you tell me what are the correct lines of the lyrics in this song Alan sings? Cause there are many mistakes in those lyrics on Internet comparing to booklet lines on the remastered CD album from 2005. In verse 1, Alan sings: ''Although you pinned me down, I never tried to fight it. You had me on the rails'' (like I saw on Internet) or ''Although you're ten feet down, I never tried to fight it. You're happy on the rails''. (like it was in a booklet of CD album)? Also, later he sings: You're trying to hide your poison disguise'' or ''You're trying to hide your voice in disguise''? On VERSE 2: ''And take a rainfall way to the sun'' or ''And take a rainbow way to the sun''? And after that: ''You tore the heart right out of your life'' or ''You tore the hole right out of your life''? I'd be grateful for help. Thank you. :)
I would love to buy you lunch next time I'm in Nashville.
One of Quo's hammer tracks from the 70s...and John's mix makes it even better. I can't stop listen to this. Magnificant piece of work...! 😊
John, I’d pay good money to have these videos on DVD. Hearing the stems in isolation is just incredible. I now own the remixed version on all available formats. Your work is incredible. More please!!! ❤
This song sounds a little bit like Uriah Heep on Lady in Black
I love this song and a great version..!
Interesting stuff...
Please do a video of just Francis' rhythm track!
K stands for kanal i.e. channel. Also, new mixes are welcome on this LP. interesting.
i saw the man himself playing this live like 5 meters from me. I will never ever ever forget that
I am Mexican from this mexico city suburb called Neza where we love Quo. I love this album, I do. I really like the songs. I used to listen to it on vinyl with an amplifier that would move air on the speakers, but I think the sound of the album was kind of blue, not bright and happy, thats how I put it, even when listening on the real deal turntable. The new mix sounds so fresh but i have only listened to them digitally. Is there a way to listen to them analog? A note, here in Mexico the thinking of seeing the band played live was just a dream. Later in life i could fight my way out of poverty to see Quo in Frankfurt and see my hero Richard Parfitt play that glourious intro of Hold You back!! That I will be greatful for until I go.
I don’t know. It was always my favourite track from the album . But I always felt the entire album mix lacked the depth and boldness of other albums. blue for you is a great example. There was something almost plastic about its sound of Rockin all over the world . Don’t know really how to best describe it ? More bass ? More something with power and thump. Love the song. Sounds better live 🙏👍🏻🔥
Does anyone know the actual release date of the FFL record? I can't find it anywhere online, only shows the year 1984.
Its a pretty technical track when you hear it taken apart like this...that sound, this isnt quo, its not were the band were about. For me it was the worse track on the album, dirty water came a close second
From the 60s Quo has always changed their sound, but you got stuck in one mood (the frantic) and didn´t evolve like they did and still does today... your loss.
@@leiper72 so you like every single track the band released then?
No of course I also have my moments (mid 90s), but keep them for myself...@@Lloyd1885
Those guitars sound very Thin Lizzy like at a few points,👍
Much better. 👍 Love the ending, not too keen on the pause at 12:54, it seems to be what a limp would sound like if it could make a noise, on the whole though its far easier litening.
Hmm ....the drums, to me, sound like they were recorded in another room at a a different time.
Awesome. Many people forget what an amazing blues band Quo were
How Rockers Rollin was always meant to sound. Brilliant work.
John Eden is a genius. Nuff said.
3 years later John and its still fabulous. Bought the remix CD after watching all your video's as I had no idea it existed. Very poor promotion from the record company. Wish you could produce the next Quo album, if there ever is a new one. Cheers again 👍
Not for me I would still have the original
But that´s the original he is working with.. just the same, only a little different..
Great to hear the tracks like this, these songs were a great part of my youth.
Fantastic work John!👍👍👍
At least umpteen chords man they could play my fave live track ! Parfitt and Rossi in perfect harmony !👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
wonder why francis doesnt go to the conventions
What a load of rubbish, not as good as the original .
Only just seen this on my UA-cam likes I will try and look this up love listening to stories from those great days especially the ones with the mighty Quo !
That computer to your left looks suspiciously like an Amiga with a midi interface I would assume ?
The best I've heard this track played was "Live At Wacken"
Rubbish song. Continued the slide for Alan's songwriting. After his best in QUO and ON THE LEVEL. Never wrote a decent song after. Too much "small man", bitter divorce ballix! However, kudos John for making this remotely listenable and showing the work involved.
In your opinion. For me, this is some really sophisticated writing on Alan’s part and shows a clear progression.
"When you weren't trying to be a rock star" speaks volumes, Thank you John
favourite 😍
