Thank you everyone for taking time to write in response to my videos. I’m working right now on For You once it’s completed I’ll have some time to respond to you all.
This is nothing short of magic, John, the way you've made the guitars and rhythm section come alive and added a whole new dimension of...chug. The first time I heard this remix, I stood up to headbang along to it (and I'm in a wheelchair, so that should say something..)
What a wonderful way to start a Sunday morning. A cup of coffee and John Eden putting everything he’s got into a real favourite track of mine. Goosebumps. Rick 🙏🏽 Alan 🙏🏽
Many a musician/writer/artist, like myself, is long on creativiety, short on technology. How you meld the right & left brained wizardry is staggering. The mastery & magic of your practical artistry is like another language from another planet. You have every right to be emotional & proud. Thnaks for your talents. May your tribe ever increase...
My favourite song Rockers Rollin, I know Ricky would of loved to of heard this re-worked, and your passion on his song. I was talking to our dear friend Jackie Lynton yesterday who told me (as always with Jack) some very funny stories with their writing sessions. The emotion is what makes the best songs..Thank you John Xx With Love Patty Parfittx
Great to hear from you Patty. Whenever Jackie turned up at the studio it would be all over. He alway had us in stitches. Rockers Rollin’ is a brilliant tribute to them both. « Old Grey Bucket » Jacks famous racehorse. Please say hi from me it’s been a very long time. I’m working on « For You « now should have it completed this week. Be great to see you if you’re ever on the shores of California. Until then love and hugs John xxx
@@johneden-producer4614 Ha ha I can just imagine ..Old Grey Bucket yes remember that, Jack and Rick together was just a comic sketch forget trying to work. I'll be going to Butlins Convention in a few weeks I'll show Jackie the video and give him your regards.. Thanks again John means so much to me and hearing Rick's voice with no instruments on was spine tingling. Big hugs back Xxx
Jackie had been in good form when I had seen him and his band at the New Day festival back in August. His band played that song in which they do a few bars of some Quo favourites, from memory Again And again, Caroline and Down Down? Afterwards Jackie stood in the crowd to watch the band Focus. He had been just a few yards from us and I thought about having a quick chat but decided to leave him alone to enjoy Focus!
John, the love and passion you put into this whole project in general is totally amazing. But for all of us to be witness of the emotion that comes across during this video.... beautiful. I needed to get my tissues out and weep along with you. It's just overwhelming.Thank you sooo much for this. It must have been quite a trip for you to revisit these tapes and totally relive the recording sessions and process. Oh man, the power of those in your face guitarparts of Rockers Rollin' at original speed.Pfew, mo' tissues please!!
Its been emotional for sure going back over the video footage. I've just completed For You, but its great everyone's feeling the energy together in this UA-cam way.
3 years later John and its still fabulous. Bought the remix CD after watching all your video's as I had no idea it existed. Very poor promotion from the record company. Wish you could produce the next Quo album, if there ever is a new one. Cheers again 👍
I admire and appreciate your talent and passion John. Capturing and then being able to replay and relive that emotion is the essence of what we do. I cannot imagine producers of heavily processed and edited tracks being able to listen back years later and be almost in the room with the band let alone cry with such deep and meaningful nostalgia. MUCH LOVE AMD RESPECT x
Alan's bass-playing is superb. Simple but on point. After he left they never have such a good bass-guitar sound and playing. When you watch and listen to the Frantic Four concert you realize "yes, that's the right Status Quo sound"!
I'm the bass player in a FF tribute Dog of Two Head. These vids you're doing are so interesting. I am very passion about getting the Quo sound. We all are. Listening to Alan's Individual bass lines helps me get the correct bass sound (or as near as I can) Awesome John. The passion of Quo and their sound will live on forever. 👍🏻🎸🎤🥁
John, I'm not surprised you got emotional. I sat watching the last minute or so with tears in my eyes too. When those four were good, they were unsurpassable at what they did. The fact that those of us too young to see the FF first time around got to witness the honest and raw brilliance of them in full flight during the two reunion tours was something that will never leave those who witnessed it; something none of us thought would ever happen. Thanks very miuch for taking the time to have shot, edited and published all these clips - they're truly fantastic and the remix is such an improvement on the original vinyl sound.
I second all the comments re this project, the magic, the memories, the love of what you do....and sharing that all with us lot. You have put tears in my eyes and happiness in my house today. I can't fathom the work you have put into all this!! Truly, you are a legend.....x

It has only been a week or so since I discovered your channel John, and I am so glad that I have. I have been watching each video on your re-working of the Rocking All Over The World album with immersive interest. I have been a Quo addict sine 1971, so have really enjoyed this. I completely understand how emotional you got whilst listening to the interplay of the guys' guitar work. I have experienced this many times myself. Certain bits of certain tracks do it every time for me and, when I was in the crowd at their Frantic Four reunion concert at Wembley, I was completely sobbing during Francis' lead break in Railroad. Thank you so much for making these videos John. I will watch them many times over!
Absolutely wonderful, John! The fact that you left in the part where you get so choked up made it all the more special. As you say, the interplay between the band members is something really quite special. I'm itching to see your videos on those three oft-overlooked Alan-penned tracks!
Wow, John! One of my all time fave Quo tracks ....you talking it through is just magical. The ‘morse code’ track is great! Your emotions at the end is just such a special share. Moving to watch in itself! Thanks John - so fascinated to see you do this.
Cheers Peter, Richard and Jackie behind this song an hilarious pair to be in the company with. This mix was a favorite of Francis it touched us all. I'm so glad to now share this with you.
Thanks John for getting these videos out there. Hopefully getting the recognition you deserve for all the work and passion that went into the re-mixes. Real from the heart stuff.
As everyone else has said John - what an incredible difference you made to the album. I'm a guitarist who does some covers and reworkings, and I record them myself. Totally enlightening to listen to your work and your explanations, thank you for your continued passion for Quo. And don't worry about the emotional bit, it happens to me every day!!
I'm enjoying these videos John. I'm not technically minded, but that doesn't mean I'm not fascinated, by the work you put in to this project. Well done.
Mate.. I love you. I LOVE your work. Just wow.. My all time fav track. And that last outro section, i teared to mate and you explain why so accurately. Cheers mate!
You know I was just 11 years older than you when I recorded it ! Aging now and still very much in the present I love nostalgia and how music locks us into a timeline of memories good or bad, its part of life. Happy you enjoyed the remix. Cheers John
Love this John. I saw Quo only once on a triple bill with Slade and Lindisfarne (?) at the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds in Melbourne, Australia, circa '73 (I was 16) and they were so, so tight. And loud! I also had an Electroharmonix 'Electric Tart' pedal around then which I only got rid of about 10 years ago. Stupid move, actually, they are really collectable these days.
John, absolutely fantastic watching these in depth breakdowns of the tracks. You mentioned the interplay between the band near the end of the track. After Alan left the band they lost that feel and the new material didn't have that intertwining if you know what I mean. RAOTW was my first SQ gig at the Glasgow Apollo. Will watch all of these with great interest and thank you for posting. I never knew there Morse code on a Quo track.
John, those clips are very interesting....I have never thougt that i would hear a proper version of this album. What a job you have done on this and to hear isolated guitartrax, and your working prosess on this is amazing. When i see your clips i`m thinking: "Listen to John Eden`s latest album.... Rockin All Over The World" Keep Up!
Brilliant video once again John! How many BPM did you take Rocker Rollin' up by? Going off of this video, it originally ran at around 156bpm. I love hearing each track individually, especially Andy's synth parts and the Morse code. Very fascinating. Thank you John for what you did with the Rockin' Remix! Truly brought life back to the album. Take care, Luke
As much as I am emotionally connected with the original version I found on the LP I bought some one hundred years ago I do agree with this remix mainly because of John Eden's emotional reaction on this track.
John, if you ever find the time to post that isolated piano track, I'd be extremely grateful! I keep on coming back to this video just to listen to those few seconds. Amazing stuff.
the macintosh 11 series. Harrison made special cards for it that ran the automation. This board had every function automated like every modern day DAW but it was revolutionary at the time.
This is really cool getting to see and hear what went into making the album. Looking forward to watching the rest of these videos. It's always cool to hear about how these records were made and how things can be made to sound even better, that's extremely useful for anyone working on recording and mixing their own stuff.
I too am always fascinated watching the process of other producers, engineers and artists. That's why I felt the need to video this process, glad you enjoyed it.
Thankyou for replying John. Definitely some of Quo's best work and seeing the tracks broken down like this just highlights just how good they are as players! I really cant wait for who am i, that track is utterly transformed. I love what you've done with the Guitar intro! Again thankyou for taking the time out to sort all your footage and post these clips...... It's very much appreciated! Take care John....
Thank you so much for sharing this, John. I didn't always agree with some of the decisions regarding the remixed album (notably the drastic tempo increase on 'Dirty Water') but overall the new mixes have been most enjoyable. These videos are absolutely fascinating and your obvious passion for the music is apparent throughout. Cap doffed, sir.
Well Charlie thank you, in addition to tempo increase on Dirty Water that I've already discussed there where in addition some wow and flutter issues to deal with. A little tempo notch helps make these a little less obvious. The fact I got to even recover these 34 year old tapes was a miracle in itself and going into it was unknown if any of this would even be possible.
Best video yet. Loved hearing the individual parts isolated. Is an amazing performance by Rossi on the outro. I was surprised how much I enjoyed hearing it at the original tempo there, I thought it wouldn't have the energy of the version that got released, but if anything I think the slower pace gives the track a bit more power.
Love the commentary approach, it is fascinating to hear all the insights into the process and your workflow, and of course the tantalising glimpses of some of the soloed tracks. Would be really great to hear some tracks isolated in their entirety for some of us saddos who love to study this sort of stuff :-)
Thanks for your note. I had to find a balance as to how far to go with these videos. I had no idea as to how it would all end up. Its really all just a great bonus for the fans
Absolutely fantastic John, I love your passion for this and totally feel all the emotion you put across here, the FF affect me the same - I play Rossi in a tribute band and also record using protools and you inspire me no end watching your vids! I 100% share your love of the noise only these four dudes could make, take any one member out of the equation and the groove and swagger is gone! I’d love it if you were to also give us some vids on JS and NTL, these two albums were where I started back when I was 10 😊 I hope any of the above makes some sense! 🤣👍
John Eden - Producer Thanks for the reply John, I understand and know that I’m pushing my luck asking for info on those two albums too! I just love hearing all the ins and outs of how the recordings happened and what was used etc, the same as when Pip was posting on the old message board, thanks again 👍
Absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately Andy`s piano disappears. But as you said, the interplay then was just amazing and surely brings back good memories, especially with Rick...
What more can I say, that Raymond hasn't said. Absolutely love what you have achieved!!! Now, what about doing it for the IYCSTH album and let the world hear the 8+ minute Accident Prone? Or is that just a rumour? I've read that you are willing to do it, but on who's initiative is it to start it and are the tapes in the same conditions as the ROATW ones? Sorry for asking that many questions, but hey.... Exitement is running down my veins watching what magic you can do with this project and the love and emotion you, as a huge fan, are putting in this brings out the Quo fever up to the max again. Thank you soooo much!!!
@@johneden-producer4614 Would love to hear the fabled longer version of Accident Prone, but I'd really like to hear a similar treatment done with the Whatever You Want album.
Weirdly I prefer the original on this song, the groove seems more natural. It works better for me if it's a little messier for this song, also missing some parts on the remix version. But it is a great sound :) Also thank you for deciding to share the ending. Very moving to see the emotion and passion behind it. I'm getting choked up myself hehe..
Nice to see John making a silk purse from a sow's ear (the production). Incredibly interesting from a historical and audio point of view. Pity he can't save some of the rank songs on the album! You've found yourself a subscriber mate. Excellent!
incredible videos...obviously the most important tool in these videos are the engineers hearing..i often wonder how the guys in recording studios know their hearing is spot on !.i know the light indicators give you levels but.do they get thier ears checked to make sure one ear is as clear as the other and also how do you determine if these mixes are also suitable through headphones and not just bare speakers ?
Pardon what did you say? sorry I was reading with the wrong ear! Seriously though Angela a couple of great questions you raise. I can't speak for others but in my earlier years I was guilty of high level monitoring in the studio. I did regular checks with a Harley Street audiologist Dr. Valentine Hammond and remarkably no loss developed. As years went on I found my monitoring levels reduced and I worked on smaller systems with less SPL (sound pressure level). Last year was my last check up and I have no loss in either ear. In England there is a group of physicians that specialize in working with musicians and deal with regular checks and in ear monitoring (www.musicianshearingservices.co.uk). I think the in ear monitoring is the biggest concern now for performers but also the public as we have become so connected to ear buds that potentially can deliver very high level SPL direct to the ear. But you know Angela hearing is just one component of mixing. For me its an art form like painting a picture sonically, you need passion and understanding of layering the colors of sound, its an emotional process creating a mix. Your 2nd question asks about the different listening platforms mixes are checked on. How I work is that I also will listen across 3 other systems in addition to my main control room monitoring. My car, a domestic home system and headphones are my final checks and this happens pre and post the mastering stage. I hope this helps answer your questions Cheers, John
Wow, brilliant John!! To quote yourself - "Thank you, thank you, thank you" for this time & effort you're putting into this project. And I love how much it means to you, it means the same to us to. Keep it up! :-) One little question though, was there any musical point to the morse code or was it just to insert a 'secret message'? Seems quite an extravagant use of a track!
When I first heard this, I loved it, but I thought you'd overdone it a bit with the "rawness"; the guitars seemed to be panned so hard, so high in the mix (especially Francis towards the fade end), and yeah, so raw! Totally awesome, but it didn't seem to fit with the other remixes on the album as a whole. But watching this video, it all makes sense. You remix really IS Rocker's Rollin; this song needed this mix, you nailed it!
Ayeesea you made the connection to the emotion I was feeling in the rawness this song needed. It was the mix above all others that Francis had the most connection with. Actually it surprised me because its not his song but there is something in this that shows a total connection that is the true essence of what was Status Quo
Im a Quo fan from the beginning, bought every LP and then CD's. This is all too technical and way over my head. What i do remember is absolutely hating the "limp" production of "Rockin All Over the World". Great songs, hot playing by the band, but the sound was like listening through a window. I wanted to kill the producer responsible for stuffing up my music idols album. What i hear here is redemption! After what... 30yrs? Is there a new CD? Can i buy it? Quo owned that Fogarty song. Thank you.... finally.... before i die.
Fake video. The subtitle says "Status Quo - Rockin 'All Over The World" but there is no Rockin' All Over The World song. You have fooled all fans of Fogerty & SQ music. You talk for half an hour without saying anything. What is this video for anyway? You are only promoting yourself but in a bad way by deceiving people with the title of the video.
Pero there is nothing Fake or deceptive about my video as you publicly claim here. The album title is Rockin’ All Over The World. The next line describes its my Remix and the 3rd Line which you may have missed is the song title Rockers Rollin’ to which the content of this video relates. I’m sure fans of the band on here will add comment to the inaccuracies of your statements.
Everything you wrote is completely wrong. You are not a Quo fan, otherwise you would know the song Rockers Rollin'. As a Quo fan you would also know that John Eden (whose videos are truly excellent) played a highly important role in Quo history. You are not even able to read the title of the video correctly. It would be better to delete your insulting and silly comment.
Oh dear Pero, sometimes it's better to remain silent and be thought a fool rather than to speak and remove all doubt. Keep up the great vids John, it's a pleasure watching a master at work.

Would love to hear that complete piano track seperately
John, if you ever find the time to post that isolated piano track, I'd be extremely grateful!
I keep on coming back to this video just to listen to those few seconds. Amazing stuff.
looooved the old Mac..... :)
the macintosh 11 series.
Thank you John, once again a great video. Please keep uploading them!
Yes next one will be Who Am I
A simple thankyou John. Absolutely loving your work!
Thank you for your kind words
I love these videos John, it's really fascinating.
Thank you Lee
Best video yet. Loved hearing the individual parts isolated. Is an amazing performance by Rossi on the outro. I was surprised how much I enjoyed hearing it at the original tempo there, I thought it wouldn't have the energy of the version that got released, but if anything I think the slower pace gives the track a bit more power.
Well now you have both tempos ! Probably the most powerful emotionally this was for me.
Brillant
Thank you
Thanks Master
Thank you check out RAOTW next
Love the commentary approach, it is fascinating to hear all the insights into the process and your workflow, and of course the tantalising glimpses of some of the soloed tracks. Would be really great to hear some tracks isolated in their entirety for some of us saddos who love to study this sort of stuff :-)
Thanks for your note. I had to find a balance as to how far to go with these videos. I had no idea as to how it would all end up. Its really all just a great bonus for the fans
Great stuff!
3 to go thanks Ivan
Absolutely fantastic John, I love your passion for this and totally feel all the emotion you put across here, the FF affect me the same - I play Rossi in a tribute band and also record using protools and you inspire me no end watching your vids!
I 100% share your love of the noise only these four dudes could make, take any one member out of the equation and the groove and swagger is gone!
I’d love it if you were to also give us some vids on JS and NTL, these two albums were where I started back when I was 10 😊
I hope any of the above makes some sense! 🤣👍
Thanks John, I just don't have any footage of JS or NTL
John Eden - Producer Thanks for the reply John, I understand and know that I’m pushing my luck asking for info on those two albums too! I just love hearing all the ins and outs of how the recordings happened and what was used etc, the same as when Pip was posting on the old message board, thanks again 👍
Absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately Andy`s piano disappears. But as you said, the interplay then was just amazing and surely brings back good memories, especially with Rick...
Thank you Wolfgang
Hear hear!
I'm certainly up for doing IYCSTH if asked by Management or Universal. I think its unlikely though.
@@johneden-producer4614 Would love to hear the fabled longer version of Accident Prone, but I'd really like to hear a similar treatment done with the Whatever You Want album.
Waow! The real Quo turn up just after the original fades out
Early training … Always be ready with tape on the machine to hit RECORD and make sure there's enough of it. Magic sometimes comes when its all over.
@@johneden-producer4614 Very true in this instance!
Weirdly I prefer the original on this song, the groove seems more natural. It works better for me if it's a little messier for this song, also missing some parts on the remix version.
But it is a great sound :)
Also thank you for deciding to share the ending. Very moving to see the emotion and passion behind it. I'm getting choked up myself hehe..
Give it time and play on a good system and I think you'll be converted !
Nice to see John making a silk purse from a sow's ear (the production). Incredibly interesting from a historical and audio point of view. Pity he can't save some of the rank songs on the album! You've found yourself a subscriber mate. Excellent!
Thanks for subscribing Martin a few more to come.
Shit hot !!!! Wonderful John !!
Thank you Brian
Got me going now! 😪
A few more still to do
K stands for kanal i.e. channel. Also, new mixes are welcome on this LP. interesting.
incredible videos...obviously the most important tool in these videos are the engineers hearing..i often wonder how the guys in recording studios know their hearing is spot on !.i know the light indicators give you levels but.do they get thier ears checked to make sure one ear is as clear as the other and also how do you determine if these mixes are also suitable through headphones and not just bare speakers ?
@@johneden-producer4614 which headphones do you use?
Wow, brilliant John!! To quote yourself - "Thank you, thank you, thank you" for this time & effort you're putting into this project. And I love how much it means to you, it means the same to us to. Keep it up! :-)
One little question though, was there any musical point to the morse code or was it just to insert a 'secret message'? Seems quite an extravagant use of a track!
I was thinking that editing the other day it was pretty extravagant.
I have always wondered what the guitar sounded like after it was faded out ie what we didnt hear. Is there any chance we might get to hear that?
There is nothing else left on my version the fade is right until the track breaks down
Verry good video! Can you tell me why Francis voice sound so (good) diffrent in the 70s. Was it more dubble tracking or has it change so much?
Were all getting older Rickard, range changes. Certainly in my period we did double track which he always did extremely well.
Nice one John, but for me best album was quo 74.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes its released as a double vinyl LP and CD
Pero Razović music channel you are an idiot 👏🏼
Pero, the album is Rocking All Over the World and John is taking about a song on that album, Rockers Rollin. It couldn’t be clearer
