Hi! Great explanation. I'm a WSET Lvl 3 and working towards Diploma. Been working restaurants and retail most of my career, some vineyard too. I'm really happy with the base that WSET gives and it allows one to develop into the field from a solid confidence in one's knowledge.

Yeah this don't exist in Pennsylvania. You want wine, you gotta come to Sheetz or a Fine Wine and Good Spirits store.

Have you tried a magnum size (1.5L) bottle by any chance? A lot these coolers are advertised for 750ml bottles. I am curious if it’s internal depth is big enough to fit magnum size bottles

Consider opening the cap to let air in when you wanna take it out of the bottle. Would be nice if you reviewed it as is instead of trying to compare with what you remembered. Fun to watch though … thanks.

Prince Edward County has an excellent Bordeaux blend but pricey at Karlo Estates. Good Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at Exultet. I like the 2020 Cab Franc from the Grange. I find Niagara is a little more mass-produced at least by Canadian standards.

I'm about to finally buy a Coravin as well. I've been stocking up on some nice bottles of Chenin from the Loire Valley from the smaller growers there and don't like the idea of having to finish a bottle in 24-48 hours. I don't think I'll let my bottles get past 2-3 months after their first pour, but nice to see how much extra time you can get by using a Coravin.

Heck, what I wanted to see how how you got it off that bottom cushion! I'm alone and I don't know what to do about this.

I have the same model of Coravin but have never kept a wine as long as you. For me maybe 3 months has been the max. If I notice a difference, like you it seems to be more with the aroma than with the taste. I don't think there is a way to know for sure as I am only going from memory and there are other factors that effect how a wine tastes.

Riesling has become by far the favorite white wine for me and my dining companion because it is beautifully aromatic and powerfully acidic, while unbeatably versatile in food pairing to our culinary style (Korean-Italian base with influences from other cuisines, moderate-high spiciness). Recently exploring the village-level wines of Kamptal, Austria and Nahe, Germany, we have been totally impressed by their minerality, concentration, and particular ability to pair with strong-flavored fish (yay, Omega-3 fish!). However, our house wines have been a Finger Lakes (2022) and Washington State Riesling (in 2021) that over-delievered on a QPR level--pretty comparable to the aforementioned two in broad categories of flavors, except for a shorter finish and lower fruit concentration at ~half the price. Plus, Riesling serves as our wine "Yin" to the "Yang" of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines for steaks!

The cracking is because it is defrosting! Obviously when you first got it there was minimal ice buildup however as more time goes by the buildup will increase, especially if you are opening the door more often! This is normal, so eventually the new one will do the same! People like you are the reason Costco discontinued this product because they were losing their marginal profit margin exchanging non defective product!

Why are you taking so long to release the next video

I have the Bodega 176 bottle fridge and I love it. I got it off of Amazon for around $1500 and while it does vary about 4 degrees from what it is set, I am happy with it. Mine also does that cracking sound at times so I have to ask if you ever found out what causes the noise. I am currently looking at the Arctic King Premium 34-Bottle Wine Cooler, Glass Door, AWCA034ADB which is available at Walmart for $159 (yeah).

Im preparing my home for sale and want to replace the wetbar dink area with a wine cooler. The part I don't understand is which ones can go in a cabinet (built-in or freestanding). If the ventilation is at the bottom on the front, would it matter which one?
