You think it will work good for a sleeping bag for compressing it

I was given a Rothco N-3B in a medium for this Christmas by a friend. I typically buy xl's in jackets so upon first seeing the size I was thinking there was no way it would fit. Her husband, while shorter than I by a foot-ish in height, is A LOT bigger around than I am. It fit him no issue. And it surprised me how well it fit me and still gave me enough room to move in without feeling like I might tear it. The zipper sits about waist level, which I am used to in "propper fitting" field jackets but because of the tail it sits like I am wearing a large or extra large in a normal jacket. And for the insulation of the thing, it is actually quite light weight. I have a Carhartt like jacket that feels like I am wearing a 20 lbs ruck and isn't nearly as warm to wear.

Lessons learned: Never send Emails on Sunday, Always use a bayonet to articulate your point. What I would like to see in the future: An all canteen pouch belt kit/web gear set made from the ACU/ABU H-Gear Rifleman Harness Vest. Henceforth known as the Poor's Water Boy.

These are prone to dry rot and cracking when frozen. For securing items to backpacks it's better to use 550 paracord and a cord lock. Realize you will need to replace the bungee cord eventually and you won't be disappointed.

Thats exactly what I did to mine, with Lc1 straps. I put some small molle watee bottle pouches on the sides too. Its perfect for a day out with the grandboys.

My Dad was, he lost his battle with lung cancer ( turns out being sprinkled with agent orange caused some minor health hiccups later on in life ) a combat wounded ( lost a leg ) Vietnam Vet and I have the binki (that’s what my Dad and his Vietnam buddies I was raised around always called it they said they had never heard it called a woobie until soldiers started coming home from desert storm.) my Dad used in Vietnam. I sleep with it every night .

You probably won't see this, but have you ever tried putting a plate in the middle GP pouch on a TAPS chest rig? It looks big enough.

This vest looks like a literal carbon copy of the Crye Precision JPC which everybody raves to no end about being the best out there. If this vest has the same quality, you're saving good money going with Rothco.

Daily carry pocket knive and Smith & Wesson tactical pen. Sometimes a palm sise light.

I tried scrubbing out the residue with limited success. I recently turned the items inside out, and sprayed it with spray paint and it seems to have stopped the stickiness. We'll see how it holds up.

Try finding a combat shirt 3x large....😮 6'3 240lb then for jackets XL long is even a pain. Even pants are a pain L tighter in the waist but better in the legs XL ok in the waist way baggy in the legs. 😅 Just can't win !

Theres a handful of main antres. Each menu # has roughly 3 combinations of 2 antres that is based on the manufacturer. So its still a crap shoot as to what exactly is inside, but you can have a rough idea, and honestly all the options are basically the same bean/barley slop stew.
