Great layout inspiring .
Many thanks Colin, it was a fun build
Makes me smile... what a lucky grandaughter! 😊 Love the laid back version of 'Feelin Groovy'! ❤️
Thank you so much, the tune just seemed to fit nicely, going to start on the baseboard next, see what we can come up with, all the best Carl
You amaze me with your imagination and modeling skills. Thanks for the chuckle.
Haha very kind of you to say Brian, I see your a Roberts we must be related somehow down the line, starting a base for this next, got a few ideas, but any help as it progresses would be much welcomed, all the best Carl
Wonderful Carl, we love it, more pleased... Cheers James 🙂👍
Groovy... I still think In Another Land is the perfect signature tune for your modeling!!!
Haha, Ok Jeff thats the background tune for the next one, all the best Carl
Nice, there seems to be a lot going on in Mitchell and Sons. 🇦🇺👍🍺
Steampunk
The birds are a great addition, brilliant. It really is rather kind of modelling we like, a little bit like the nonsense we create in Dylington... Cheers James 🙂👍
I love all of the moving elements! Brings back memories of an Emett machine (or Emett inspired?) which I saw in an exhibition in the old Waverley Market in Edinburgh, in the late 1950s.
I was lucky enough to see the Emett water clock in a Nottingham shopping centre before they demolished the place, I stood there for a good half an hour, there was so much happening , and of course on the hour it drew a crowd , lovely to see, when I started my Emett layout the main thing to me was movement , all the best to you Carl
Brilliant! He should have a fish dangling from a rod...😂
Then a fish he shall have Jeff
This is mint! The birds are groundbreaking!
Thank you very much Jeff, you are soooo good at encouraging me to do more, all the best Carl
The idea with the birds is great! Now perhaps stiil a beehive for the second car? It looks a little bit empty yet.
Funny you should mention beehives michael, three on the work bench at the moment , pleased you like the birds, i wasn't sure for a start but now im really happy with them
Brilliant, that looks great. It certainly brought a smile to our faces 😀... Cheers James 🙂👍
It feels great to have fellow modellers approval, if you both have any ideas how I could improve or alter anything , please shout up, all the best to you both and Happy Modelling
@carlroberts2539 we just enjoy having fun with our modelling, as for ideas. If we were doing it, we'd have to include something to do with Dylington Custard. We are looking forward to seeing future updates 😁👍
Thanks for response Carl. Very early stages with us but your enthusiasm and modelling has wetted our whistles, so to speak.
I just love that you shared the train and ideas you're putting together for your daughter! Totally Amazing and Creative! Well done. Thanks for sharing. If you're keeping a tally, put me down for absolutely want to see the updates. Shalom
Many thanks for your kind words, its really encouraging and much appreciated , Ive started a tally, well you did really, so thats one 😂 im calling that an audience, your my favourite member , all the best to you and your family , Carl
Absolutely Brilliant Carl. Very glad to see your back running the layout again. We are building our own Emmitt style layout but our imagination is not a patch on yours. Happy modelling ... Malcolm
Hello Malcolm, many thanks for liking the video's, that sounds very interesting, building your Emett layout, I looked at your UA-cam channel to see if three was any videos, I do hope you show your modelling on here, I for one would love to see it, all the best Carl
We love this kind of thing, and my grandson and I would really like to see some more of the layout as it progresses. It's something we might have a go at, some point in the future. But firstly, there's a 009 layout for my grandson to build ... Cheers James 🙂👍
Hi James, i hope you both do get around to building a Emett style layout, you can just let your imagination run wild, Im just starting an 009 layout for someone, I forgot how small the scale is, you can get so much in a small space, all the best to you both Carl
@carlroberts2539 Hi Carl, Dylan has got most of his track down now and will be back onto building kits to go on it. It's slow going as he can only do it when hes with us, on the occasional weekend. Hopefully, he'll get more done over the school holidays. I've also got a 009 layout that I will be starting in the near future, I don't know if Dylan will film any of that for his channel. But it certainly looks like building a Emmet style layout could be real fun ... Cheers James 🙂👍
How awesome! I am sure Mr Emmet would had loved those! This is certanly something Your granddaughter can look back to with many good memories later if they survive her early childhood... ha ha
Haha, your right they might not last long if little hands get to them, it will be in a plastic case, but im sure it won't survive long, hope all good with you, and your still getting some modelling time
@@carlroberts2539 Ha ha! I still hawe most parts of the Märklin trainset Grandfather gave me, despite all the crashes and "modifications" it has been trou ower the years, i gave it away to my brothers little sons a few years ago. Oh, Yes, i did dug up the box from Michael again a few weeks ago whan i found Mrs Hamilton among my dollhouse dolls... I probably forgot her there after i painted her and put her aside to dry, she seem to fit well on the playmobild portable toilet according to my siblings kids... Not my buissness, but I assume she is done there "washing her hands" by now and she want to go back on the train... ha ha
Wonderful! Love your models and all the humour. I have enjoyed experimenting with a couple of small dioramas, using scrap materials, to create imaginary locos and carriages, but not quite progressed to a working layout! 😊❤️
Many thanks Marlyn, I hope you do build a layout and show it on here, I love to see what folk build, all the best
Truly inspiring, as I love your whimsical layouts as they show so much imagination. This one is amazing as well. Please do not stop posting videos, they are not only encouraging, but heart warming as well. I live in the US and hope to start bring more British train operations to show the diversity of 19th Century steam in Great Britain.
Many thanks for your lovely words, they are very much appreciated, I have many FB railway friends in the US, they build some fantastic layouts, I will definitely start showing more of my normal ( if thats the correct term 😂) layouts on UA-cam as well, all the best Carl
First attempt -Wow! Looks great! I watched the whole video and that tippling brakeman never once put down that bottle. That’s what I call Focus! Nerves of Steel, obviously!
😂many thanks Phil , he has got a bit of a problem , but seems to be happy just going round and around , thanks for the like, all the best
cute model railroad thanks for sharing
Many thanks General
I like the expansion so far, even though it's not finished yet, but I will miss Witches Hollow.
Many thanks Michael, the Witch has not traveled far, just a stop down the line
Ich bin gespannt.
Amazing, my grandson loves it ....cheers James 🙂👍
Hi praise indeed from such a talented modeller, please pass on my thanks to your Grandson, I very much enjoy watching his videos
@carlroberts2539 Hi Carl, I've just come back from my grandson's, and I have passed on your regards. Hopefully, he'll get a little bit more done to his layout over the next couple of weeks, and then he'll be able to post an update....cheers James 🙂👍
cool beans!!
Aha, new home, new opportunity for expansion. But how did the witch manage to turn herself into a pair of cows? We need to know more.
Haha, the witch has also got a new home, or will have soon, just a bit down the line, im never happy and always changing things about
Excellent, more ideas to copy and adapt. Greetings from the USA
Hi Anthony, good to hear from you, hope all good, we are finally getting a summer here in the UK,all the best
Hello from a sweltering NYC. Railex is at Harborough on October 5/6. I’ll be there, I’ve even brought some figures to paint up whilst in the USA. My American granddaughters asked why have you brought those, does granny know? 😂
@@anthonyCHERRINGTON-ws3wg Ha your secret is safe with me Sir, and it will be good to catch up with you in Oct, there's a new shop-stall opened on MH Market, the chap is called Sam, its mostly second hand, but good quality , I hope he does well, all the best
magnifico
How awesome!! I so badly whish i lived closer to you guys so i could just walk ower to Micael... The little cows are deffinitely on my next list! Ha ha
VERY nice first attempt 👏👏👍👍👍
Beautiful little layout. The scenery is fantastic. Well done.
Thank you for your kind words, it means alot to me, all the best Carl
"where's the Kaboom"?? Awesome!!!
😂I will have to work on that one
very creative...neat!!!
Well done looks good
Just a reminder on Father’s Day how much of a terrible person you are , I hope your money was worth it , no kids carl 😂
Micro layouts are the way to go...I have a whole channel, website and EVERYTHING! Enjoyed watching your video, thank you. Jules
Many thanks Jules,I totally agree Small is best, I have joined your channel
@@carlroberts2539 Thanks very much, hope others feel free to as well. Best wishes.
Excellent! Help us recover our childhood joy in trains.
Thank you Quincy for all the support you send my way, its very much appreciated
Woo hoo.. Nice to see it back! Did A***** choose that pink wall colour?
Hi John, long time no see, hope all good with you both, we our only next door if you get me (coffee)No nothing to do with Annette, it was left by the previous owners young daughter , how she slept is beyond me, hopefully see you soon, all the best
Wow ,Very Nice !
Excellent to see the layout running again, an inspiration for me to build a layout for my grandchildren.
That Anthony is lovely news, my Grandchildren can be harsh critics sometimes , but when I get a smile from a build .....well its magic, I hope you build that layout and I for one would love to see it, Happy modelling, Carl
@@carlroberts2539 The layout is well on the way, it has to be as I have been asked to exhibit at Railex 2024 in Market Harborough in October. It was your layout that my grandchildren said I had to copy and remodel my ‘boring’ buffer to buffer!
@@anthonyCHERRINGTON-ws3wg Well I had better put that date in on the calendar , I take it thats the exhibition held in the Market Hall, I was asked by the previous organiser to show the Emett layout but sadly our house move got in the way, if not before I will see you in October
Oh but this is fabulous, thank you so much for resurrecting it and sharing it with us!
Hi, Carl. Nice to see ‘em on the rails!
Looks like it did before! I’m sure it was fragile to move. Glad you saved it.
Hi Chiparooo, good to hear from you and I'm pleased you cannot see all the repairs. I'm glad that it turned out ok and I'm looking forward to expanding the layout. All the best, Carl
Cool Carl.
Many thanks Hunter
Love that it's back in action Carl!!!
It's nice that the milk train can do its rounds again and that the layout has been rebuilt. Was it a lot of work? Was a lot broken during the move? I'm not sure I like the pink room walls? They must have been like that when you moved in, right? I'm sure it will be a long time before the stables are finished. Take it slow, nobody needs a second heart attack. Best wishes from northern Germany.
Hi Michael, it was water damage from apparently being left outside by our removal company, track buckled mainly but funny thing is the section around the light house that should have been the most delicate was fine, yep the Pink walls are from the little Girl that had the room before, unfortunately your right the last job will be the stables, so for a while pink is the new me, Slow seems to be the new normal for me but hey its all good, best wishes to you and thank you for your encouragement
Nice to hear ... and in a way, pink also suits Emett. Your videos have made me a "fan" of him and his railroads, so much so that I've already ordered two books by/about him. Thank you for that.@@carlroberts2539
I saw your comment about this on the Facebook Gn15 group. I adore this layout, am thrilled to hear it has survived, and enjoy seeing it in action again. This is such a wonderful thing.
Many thanks for your lovely words, funny thing, I left the Gn15 group for a while, my normal layouts go down ok but the Emett style....well lets say its not to some folks liking, for me it gives a break from the more serious side of our hobby , and the Grandchildren approve , Happy modelling, Carl
Brilliant, we love the layout maybe one day we'll have a go at one. In the meantime my grandson has made a start on his 009 layout, and has uploaded part one of a series of videos documenting his journey to his channel ...cheers James 🙂👍
Hi James, I watched your grandson's video, a talented lad and excellent modeller , I look forward to following his build, all the best to you both, Carl
@carlroberts2539 Hi Carl, I'm really impressed with his progress so far. There will be more updates over the months as he progresses with it. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment on his video... Cheers James 🙂👍
Like your new costal backdrop ...
