Can you please make a longer tutorial on this? Just start imaging the RIng Nebula with a Dwarf 2 and would like to see how you processed it since you got such a great result. Thanks!
Have a Vespera Pro on order, think I'll cancel.
Good decision👍🏼👍🏼
I only just bought my Dwarf II about a month ago but honestly, Im still pretty stocked about the 3rd gen version, I just might keep the 2 and start saving for the 3 as well. I never thought I would like the Dwarf 2 so much but it is a truly remarkable little machine, even if its a little finicky at times. I'm excited for the future and I enjoy spending my time taking cool photos and images of space (and wildlife). I just hope the Dwarf 3 is still somewhat budget friendly. Well, we shalle see what the future holds, but for now, Im still enjoying the Dwarf 2 and i hope to see that Sky Atlas update soon because thats a pretty useful feature to have. I look forward to longer exposures as well as the better optics and sensor in the next gen Dwarf telescope.
The colour will be a sort of lightish gray (1:20) not black and I think a 256 GB or even 512 GB would have been the better storage option. Overall it will be a great upgrade.
More storage would've been better, yes, but 128 is certainly better than 64
Wow, I'm really excited for the D3, I don't see this being worse, I think it's only better to be honest!
It's 300% better
@@ScottCastrophotography yeah, I see people saying it's bad in the comments, but I think it's better.
Same! Glad we see eye to eye
More cons than pros. Not worth the upgrade to me. No Thanks
More stuff for landfill. What a con.
I hope Seestar does an upgrade version soon.
The combination of aperture, focal length, EQ mode, longer exposures and use of both lenses for imaging makes this really compelling for me! Just crossing my fingers about the price! Thanks for the excellent commentary, as always! 😁🔭
I chose the ZWO SeeStar as my tiny do-all astro scope. I'd hope that ZWO would upgrade their sensor and find a way for EQ tracking in a future version. Thanks for your video. Clear skies, Michael
用个楔形底座就可以实现无场旋跟踪了
Not sure I will jump in this time.. personally never been happy with the app function..got the seestar as well which for me is much better.but price point is crucial as well.
Sounds expensive. Oi
Their first model was quite cheap, so i doubt this one will be expensive!
Thanks, Scott!
You're welcome!
Interesting.
Exciting
But u can youes your tabulate or your right
Yes
Your video is really good, after that we will develop TW3, it's a more powerful telescope, if you are interested, I can send you one for evaluation after production🥰
Of course!
Why no TW2?
Is that a tablet your youesing
Yesss
Superb work, Scott! I do have one question--how did you evoke the SHO palate in your Eagle Nebula process? As far as I could see, you selected part of the nebula in color calibration and just clicked apply. I assume something needs to be set up before you could do this. Any help much appreciated! Great work!
Nope that's all I did actually, it was something i actually came across accidentally!
How long should we shoot for without post processing?
Nice 😊
Hi great video and you’ve helped me a lot,i love this camera and was going to get a Dobson but after seeing people at a star party take. Time to set it up,and me. Being disabled this was the answer,I’m still in amazement and you’re helping me get the most out of this camera! Thank you

Hey. Curious if youre gonna do a video on the new siril scrip made just for seestar. Thanks
Man I'm so stupid... I bought a laptop just to get into astrophotography and I can't even get my photos onto my computer. It's so disheartening.
Thanks!
Has anyone found a way to take calibration frames with the Seestar? Or do we not think they are necessary?
Got the Seestar S50 just a week ago but then it started Raining. And since its suddenly sunny in a very unpredictable Welsh skies. It only took under 2 minutes to setup and calibrate to start solar imaging. Really game changer. And I bet that Celestron Origin at a whooping 3,999 USD pricetag does it even better since it has a bigger RASA telescope and a better camera.
Can you print the photos after processing? There’s understandably lots of noise and not much detail, but I’m wondering if this telescope is really only for sharing photos on social media due to the low res results, or if I could print at 8x10 or larger. Can you give me your opinion?
Thanks for the great tips ,unfortunatly i only purchased my SeeStar on Friday ,so its on its way ,sorry I never knew about your affiliate link to give you some bucks. Thanks again Regards John
Do you have any courses to teach all the post processing?
No, but i can make one if you'd like😄
I watched it from Torreon, Mexico. ....it was awesome. It happens to be my third total solar eclipse (1st July 1991 La Paz, Baja Calif; 2nd Aug 21, 2017 f/South Carolina)... and it gets better everytime. Oh, yes! I still FEEL and CRY everytime I see all these nice pictures and videos, the *SHADOW* the *Diamond RIng* also *shadow bands* of course the *Corona* and the 360 *"Sunset"*. I am so glad the skies cleared and that you had a chance to see it. Cheers! Clear skies!
Hey I'm new to the Seestar and I'm struggling to get good shots. You mentioned about using the filter on a moonlit night. I've only been using it when the app turns it on automatically. When/how should I know to use it?
On galaxies, never use the filter, on emission nebulas, use it, on reflection nebulas, don't use it, as it'll cut out the natural light. 👍🏼
What software are doinv all the processesing on please. Buddy?.
Siril!
@@ScottCastrophotography thanks ill check it ou xd
Glad you didn't get clouded out. I was maybe a little too motivated to ensure I had completely clear skies, so I drove from Texas to Maine. Totally worth it. Spain in 2026 could be a good one, although I think it will be towards sunset. (Which could be cool.) If there's one to really aspire to see it's 2027 in Egypt. Also, Australia in 2028 should be a really good one. Both very long and over areas that are pretty clear. Could make for an interesting astro travel video!
That's a long trip! I'm sure it was worth the drive. Hopefully i can get some sort of funding in place to make it possible to go to Spain or Egypt or Australia in those years! I'd love to stream it again!
@@ScottCastrophotography Yeah, that would be really cool...
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Saw the eclipse in Dallas and got a good sequence of totality and video with the Dwarf 2. The SeeStar lost track, I think, due to clouds about 3 minutes before totality started. Congrats on your upcoming marriage! After 47 years with my lovely bride, I can attest it is worth it. Best wishes and God Bless!
Hey Marsman, got your email! Thanks for the kind wishes!
Is this a repost?
Yes, apologies!
@@ScottCastrophotography No, it doesn't matter, just wondering, love the content!
Thanks!
Okay.
Sorry, this is a repost! Previous videos had issues!
Question on ASIVideo: the video stack program requires *.avi or *.ser format, while my SeeStar video is MP4. How to make it work?
In order to record AVI format for solar/lunar/planetary, you need to make sure when you are recording you have the RAW setting activated👍🏼
Thanks. Tried solar. The RAW video and stacked image are black and white, is it?
Just what I needed to finally learn some editing techniques specific to the Seestar!
No one on this planet is interested in disturbing trees. Publishing results means concentrating on THESE science data !
The tree mentioned is unfortunately rotting from the inside, just waiting for it to fall. It's a very old tree, consumed by termites
Getting mine delivered tomorrow!!
Cool vid.
What are those things that dance across the screen very quickly? Are those birds?
I believe so!
I have a K&F Concept 77mm Variable ND2-ND400 ND Lens Filter. Can use K&F Concept Variable ND2-ND400 ND Lens Filter for the Solar eclipse?
When photographing the sun,the use of ND100000 or ND1000000 filters provides better protection for the camera sensor and prevents exposure
Yep....Seems to be working well. I'll be trying to use my SeeStar if I can find the sun through our Arlington, Texas cloud cover. Rain is predicted here about the time of the eclipse😢.
Scott are there after market base levelers that attach to the legs that might make it easier to level? And can you use a external battery to hook up if you are out in the boonies without electricity, also do i need to use my hotspot on iPhone to connect to see star if I’m out in the desert
Praying for clouds to open up or delay coming here in Dallas. Love your set up. Hoping the SeeStar will point OK. Sun is going to be close to Nadir. Have fun!
Good luck my friend, clear skies to you!
i dont have the comet section on mine, and i just did the update, so i have the latest version
