    Thank you for this video. I have preordered the seestar s50. It is good to see that it should perform very well for a 2 inch telescope. You mentioned for one of the images that it was 250 subs, I presume each sub was 10 seconds, giving around 42 minutes of exposure time. Could you state if that was true for all of the images. Also what Bortle skies did you image under?

      @ScottCastrophotography  Рік тому

      It was under Bortle 5, some images only had 80 exposures, such as the ring nebula, the only one with about 250 was M101 and yes 10s subs

    Thanks. Very useful. The video quality is still not good enough... Are you sure this is 4K? It doesn't even look like 1080p. Can you also provide a link to the final images in full resolution, so it can be inspected not on UA-cam? Thanks! Also, is there a video / link to the processing you performed in Siril? It would be helpful to understand your workflow. Thanks!

      I'll do another video on the full processing on one of the images soon to show you how it works👍🏼 and there was upload issues so it didn't want to do full quality. I'll fix it on the next ones

    So, the scope is not useful for live viewing for groups. Good information.

    Nice job, Scott!
    Yes, your video was enjoyable.......and given what's out there on the ZWO seestar s50, at this point in time, this was extremely helpful in assisting me in organizing my info and my respective thoughts on this mount.
    I am an APer, so this 'smart telescope' will be for the purposes of outreach.....and my inquisitive neighbors!!
    A few comments for you, personal ones, actually; have no manner of contacting you one on one. Please accept them as just trying to help, not criticizing you.
    *Your comment on the 'bands' in galaxies is really n/a. There are K-band images of the spiral galaxies have been used to calculate different characteristics like 'arm strength' and profiles. Point is neither here or there, right?
    *Also Messier, while it IS spelled like 'my child is messier than my neighbors', as in messy, given that Charles Messier was, obviously, French his name is pronounced “mess-ee-ay", as all French words ending in 'ier'.
    *Lastly, so you don't go berserk, when it comes to the 'resolution' of the pixels in sensors, there are 2 points of measurement / comparisons of interest.
    Not just the Vertical pixels of 1080, but also the Horizontal of 1936, in the Sony 462.
    So, pixel resolution is always addressed as 1936 pix x 1080 pix.
    Hope you find my comments helpful, as intended, and not just nit picky!
    Best to you and all your future video endeavors!
    Merc 53

      Scott, a quick one: What’s your take on the comment made about the battery used by the Seestar…..(vs the Dwarf), but in general.
      Should a consumer be leery of that being a time-bomb failure; given the constant recharging?

    • @ScottCastrophotography
      @ScottCastrophotography  Рік тому +1

      @@almercado1650 my point of view is this, I will more than likely not even be relying on the battery most of the time because i enjoy long imaging sessions, and i wouldn't want the battery to die on me, so i would need to make sure the telescope is powered either way. The Seestar is able to be externally powered, so even if the battery were to eventually fail, the telescope would be usable anyway just like any other goto scope via external powering. So to me it's not a big deal. Now if you plan on taking the Seestar everywhere, using it's battery, yeah it may pose an issue, but even then you could just bring a power bank to power it if, hypothetically, the battery were to give out.

    The issues with your files , I often have lots of screens opening up since the latest update to siril . Don't know if it's coincidence or there is a gremlin in the siril update

    I’m surprised others haven’t commented but this video is very blurry for me. I’d love to follow along but it is giving me a headache trying to watch it.

      Yep, I've been noticing he's been posting videos as 2160p, but they're most definitely not 2160p source. I wish he wouldn't do that.

      @@SimVU mistake uploading them, they were made in 4k resolution but they were messed up somehow during uploading. Sorry about that! Future videos will be better, promise!
