George Sisler - A partial presentation of my collection with similar variants presented
George Sisler is my number one player to collect and PC. I find his story, his character, and his contribution as a player, scout, and even military service to be inspiring. This video is the first in my Sisler videos to share my collection. This video features strip cards, Chocolate, Caramel, and Clothing store issues from his playing days.

Big Trade coming up - here's what I am giving up

My Top 5 sportscards outside of baseball. Football - Basketball - Hockey - Soccer

Many of us in the hobby collect outside of baseball. I believe many of us enjoy baseball for the history and collect the pre-war era. Most cards in other sports tend to be more modern than this, so the focus stays with baseball. I am sharing my top 5 cards of sports outside of the baseball collection. What else do you all collect?
What does it mean for a card to be scarce
Переглядів 27014 днів тому
In this video I take a look at a few cards that have varying degrees of scarcity. What does it mean to be scarce? Is a 70 year old card automatically scarce? Using the 1954 Bowman and Propagandas Montiel sets as a basis for discussion, we talk pop reports and real scarcity. How do you collect? Do you value a card that is truly scarce?

July 18, 1999 Yogi Berra and David Cone 25th anniversary

On July 18, 1999 the Yankees celebrated Yogi Berra day and had Don Larsen throw out the first pitch. Amazingly, David Cone started the game and went on to throw a perfect game on that day. I share some thoughts, memories, and reasons this is such a great day for me as a collector. Huge fan of both Berra and Cone so this day is worthy of a celebration.

Checking out some oddball items to explore the smallest cards available. With @ACollectorsDream and @MrJmangini sharing their very awesome Baguer Chocolate cards, I was wondering if those were the smallest cards ever made? While not nearly as old, rare, or valuable, the 1950 R423 strip cards are reportedly 1/8 of an inch smaller. Are there any smaller cards out there? Please comment and share.

At this point I'm starting to wonder what high-end Hall of Famer Aaron DOESN'T collect haha... I'd be curious of the overall value of it all. Even if everything was a 1, would have to be a huge number. The safe haven of vintage... Like the gold and silver of cards. The stunners keep coming!

@blixcards yeah, I'm not sure about the current value. Definitely have a lot of guys I collect with some diligence. I find myself drawn to the less appreciated superstar players. Plus, collecting Ruth and Mantle kills the budget fast.

Nice trade fellas, very cool to have friends to trade with especially in person. It was nice to hear how everything just fell into place so easily. Looks like Joe's going to fit right in around here!

Welcome Joe, great cards you have there. How much were the Bob Gibson RC and 1947 Duke Snider? Also, what is the material in the Babe Ruth game-used? Much appreciated!

@blixcards Joe does have an amazing collection. He just arrived at the National today so I will message him and make sure he sees your message. Feel free to send him an email as well. Thanks for the comment, my friend!

@@Valuevintagecards-Aaron I truly can only ask out of curiosity because I wouldn't have the funds available outside of COMC until late August at the earliest. So please don't bother him with that, /i was picturing you two still hanging out over there. Thank you Aaron!

Hi, thank you! Sorry about that, I realized after I failed to mention a few prices. Asking 650 on the 59 Gibson and 875 on the 47 Snider. I am not sure on the Ruth relic card as it fails to explain exactly.

@@OC-MC_Joe Awesome, thanks Joe! That's one of the reasons I was asking. I can't buy anything card related until late August (outside of COMC anyway) but wouldn't mind a shot at the Gibson if it's still around near September. I'm looking for a really sharp copy without a crease so the o/c doesn't bother me at all on bigger star RCs. Honestly though I think somebody like Billy Ballgame, Chris or one of the of the Missouri guys will be all over that when they see it after The National. Those cards you shared won't last long around here with the fair pricing. May be a 4 Collectors trade night again in August as well, they would have a huge, warm reception there. I tried looking in Beckett's Almanac and some other places but can't find info on the ruth swatch either. Still does say "game used" on the card front though. It would be insane if that was a hat relic, wow.. Couldn't be a Mitchell & Ness tag but maybe from whoever the company was making Yankees jerseys back then? Might be something really unique, actually. Thanks again, Joe!
