  • Many of us in the hobby collect outside of baseball. I believe many of us enjoy baseball for the history and collect the pre-war era. Most cards in other sports tend to be more modern than this, so the focus stays with baseball. I am sharing my top 5 cards of sports outside of the baseball collection. What else do you all collect?

      @@EverydayCardCollector-Jason thank you, Jason! How cool is that to have that connection. Grange is definitely a tough one to collect with age, price, and lack of cards to choose from. Enjoy the National, my friend!

      @vintageonvintage817 Thank you, my friend! It is not the same focus as baseball for me, but it is definitely still a fun part of the collection. Do you collect all sports?

    Those are some rough copies, but at least you have them. I like the Grange. Oldest is best in this case. Sweet cards

      @RL3sports I think you just summed up my collecting theory. I like well loved copies so I can have more from the list. Thank you for sharing. I agree, that Grange is one of my favorites!

      @Dav3Campb3ll for sure! It is such an iconic card. Are you waiting for the "right one" or just timing to find a solid one that fits your collection?

    Awesome cards Aaron! Don't see a lot of Bobby Orr rookies.

      @stuke1976 yeah, that was definitely the last one to collect for his full run. Thank you, my friend!

    Very cool seeing the other sports in your PC, and you have some of the key cards there without a doubt... I've been buying non-sport celebrity cards to collect, grade and sell and see the popularity building. I personally prefer cards that mention the actor's name whenever possible. Do you actively hunt for any vintage celebrity cards?

    • @Valuevintagecards-Aaron
      @Valuevintagecards-Aaron  Місяць тому +1

      @blixcards a few for sure. I have some weird TV show cards, and several John Wayne cards. Supposedly, he is my somewhat distant cousin! How about you?

      @@Valuevintagecards-Aaron Nice! That's wild, I'm related to the explorer Leif Eriksson. I have a 1962 Dutch Gum John Wayne in a PSA 7 if you need one. I buy many celebrity "first/rookie" cards to grade and sell in my eBay and COMC stores and I'll keep a handful here and there if in high grade. I usually buy several copies of key cards then grade. Everything from 1960's Audrey Hepburn & Clint Eastwood to 1960's & 1970's band cards of The Who, Ozzy, Bowie, The Police, etc. 1966 Bruce Lee Kato "rcs" graded SGC 6-9s, movie stars from 1960's to 2010's, horror icons, comedians, politicians, directors like Spielberg, Tim Burton and George Lucas, or anyone famous really. I only like very early or first cards when it comes to keepers. Something I never thought I would care about at all but I do have a small PC of Harrison Ford, Gene Hackman and other movie stars and celebrities. Just a fun side PC and also keeps me constantly learning who's in what sets and makes for interesting grading subs. There aren't many non-sports celebrities I even like so it's a bit ironic but also makes them easier to part with than sports cards. I'd love to see what you have some time!

      @blixcards how awesome is that! I will definitely grab some of what I have to make a video soon. My oddball stuff is not too extensive, mostly nostalgic items. Batman card, a few Dukes of Hazzard cards, a few celebrities, Sinatra, Captain Morgan, etc. I really like some of the older cards of presidents and artists, but I don't have a lot in the collection just yet.

      @@Valuevintagecards-Aaron Very nice! Obviously I'll be looking forward to that. Daisy Duke was my first crush, so I give a look for the first Catherine Bach from the initial Duke set every so often. I have not seen one I feel like would grade a 9 yet but hope to one day.
