    Wrap the aerial roots up in the soil, chop unvariegated leaves. And repot if necessary. ❤❤❤ Good luck

    The variation will slowly come in stronger with the more light it's getting. With the health aerial root you can propagate the top half cutting just below the stem to have a new plant that will grow into an overall fuller variegated lookin plant 😊 happy growing !

    Hi Kevin 😊 I really enjoyed watching your video. I'm looking for aesthetically pleasing, low maintenance indoor plants to help with my health issues. I have mold toxicity which has resulted in degenerative chronic pain along with a host of other symptoms. I thought maybe plants could help clean my air? Which ones would you most recommend for this purpose? I am embarrassed to say that I have a poor track record with the plants that come in my home. I am not very good at maintenance, so frequently they die. 😮 I would need something easy that maybe I could water on a schedule. I tend to really like the look of something like maidenhair Fern although I hear that that's more high maintenance?? I loved the Chinese evergreen from your video - the bright green with purple edges was just lovely!! Thank you so much! I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. ☺️

      @PlantswithKevin 22 години тому

      Hi there! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! For low-maintenance options, I'd recommend the Snake Plant or Pothos. Both are great for air purification and pretty forgiving if you forget to water them occasionally. Maidenhair Ferns can be a bit tricky, but don’t worry - I’ve got your back with easier choices! :-)

    Tap water is fine for Anthurium that is all I use and I have a lot of them in my collection. I guess if your tap water PH is not good then that could be an issue. I also use Jack’s fertilizer 20-20-20 with every watering too.

    I think a 9 inch tall would have been better for those plants. They like to have their stems in the substrate.

    • @PlantswithKevin

    My husband always walks in on me when I am filming or doing any plant stuff. We have been married for 34 years, so ‘whatever’ is my attitude. I will say filming I get uncomfortable talking when he’s here. 😂

    Such beautiful plants! I have to up-pot my Queen and several others soon. I am waiting for the new leafs to come out first. They are growing so much even in this winter. If I see an Anthurium title, I am watching it, 😉

    It looks like the white varigation is at the base so no need to do anything underthere. The aerial root of the top cutting can be put into a seperate mosspole to root a bit and help out that propagation. This one is not necessarily highly variegated though it seem - cutting is beneficial

    • @PlantswithKevin

    It looks like a low variegated gene. That said, the 2 comments before mine sounds appropriate. 1 thing about low variegation, if it is cut back to the most closey variegated node, that leaf should grow in and potentially set a new pattern of variegation. And blast it with light. I had the same problem. Now mine has 16 hrs of light. 9 hrs natural 7 hrs full spectrum. Now she is definitely bouncing back with nice variegation

    • @PlantswithKevin
      @PlantswithKevin 2 дні тому

      Thanks for the advice! More light and a strategic cut is def what it needs! 🤩

    The PH in Denver is around 9 in my building (to protect the lead pipes lol) Once I started fixing the PH of my water my plants spiked! Also, Denver uses Chloramine in the water, not gaseous chlorine to filter the water so leaving the water out over night won’t filter out the Chloramine. So I use Stress Coat to get the Chloramine out of the water, fix the pH and use fertilizer every watering. Kinda overkill but it works so I’m not mad.

    i would cut it to the point of the stem that i see variegation where the new growth point is . nodes and new growth that starts from green part of the stem will be mostly green , but the ones that grows from variegated part of the stem will be more and more vatiegated

    Ummmm I’m telling your husband what you said!!! 😂😂😂 I use a 20-20-20 fertilizer with filtered water at every watering. It’s habit for me because I have carnivorous plants that require water with a ppm less than 50. Do you use the recommended measurement for the fish poop or do use a different measurement? It’s so difficult to get past the smell. 🤢 😬 Oh and yes, more videos on Anthurium tips n tricks please! 💚

    I received a small Thai in July ‘24 for my Birthday. So far there’s only 2 nice, new leaves. Seeing as how we’re in the throes of winter everything seems to be dormant. Once the weather is warmer I’ll take the Thai out of the IKEA case. I’ll also look into fish fertilizer and worm castings. My daughter recently bought a Thai similar to yours for $80 at a local grocery store. She was absolutely thrilled! 🌿

    Why do the flowers turn green after a time

    • @PlantswithKevin
      @PlantswithKevin 3 дні тому

      Great question! Anthurium flowers can turn green as they mature, which is a natural part of their life cycle. They often start off as bright colors and then transition to green as they age.
