Thanks for the video. The info definitely helps. Can I just say that your pooch is a cutie. The eyes are expressive. Um, your window and plants...gorgeous 🪴🪴
The power of Tequila is strong! Sorry Kevin, there is a new star in town, lol. Good luck neighbor getting a legit Christmas cactus, they are hard to find, but with all your viewers maybe someone will send you a cutting! As always love the video and information.
I done the same thing, went to Walmart, thinking I was getting a Christmas cactus and I got two thanksgiving cactus.. 😂 now I'm on a mission to find the REAL CHRISTMAS CACTUS! I heard it was very hard to find them, you can only buy them from nurseries, big box stores only sell thanksgiving cactus and label them wrong. I also planted mine in Espoma organic and mixed in chunky perlite & mixed lava rock & zeolite .... Could they be planted in Molly's aroid mix?
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always interesting to hear about others' plant journeys. Best of luck finding the real Christmas cactus, and I appreciate your input on the planting mix!
I've had my Thanksgiving cactus for 10 years, and had it repotted about 4 years ago. Ever since that, it only blooms 3/4 of the way around. I keep turning it but one side is still naked. If anyone knows why, let me know.
It sounds like your cactus might be a bit picky about its blooming conditions! Have you checked if it’s getting enough light or nutrients? Sometimes a little change can help it bloom evenly.
It sounds like your Thanksgiving cactus might need a little TLC. Here are a few things you can try: - Light it up: Make sure it's getting plenty of bright, indirect light. A south-facing window is ideal. - Water wisely: Water it thoroughly when the soil is dry, but don't let it sit in water. - Cool it down: Lower night temperatures can help trigger blooming. - Feed it well: A bit of cactus fertilizer can give it a boost. If you've tried all this and it's still not blooming, it might be worth checking the roots for rot or pests. Hope this helps!
It can be really frustrating when that happens! Sometimes it might be due to handling during transport or just the plant's condition. Have you tried checking the care instructions or asking the seller?

Every time I buy one of these, all unopened buds fall off without opening. What gives!?

It looks as if Walmart’s error is working in your favor. Lemons turned into lemonade is thrilling.
Right?! I'm so glad it worked out for the best. 🤩
