I hope I don't come of as contradictory in this video when talking about weapon strength and such. If you're interested in my general thoughts of the weapons added in the dlc, the balance is all over the place. Monorail is a one shot machine, genesis BTFO's all the other bows, redeemer while fun, makes repair tool pretty useless as a healing tool, harvester scythe is just the best scythe, dark matter gauntlets are a death sentence on some bosses and melts others, and black greatsword is worse than every other blade in its category.

Out of curiosity, did you happen to test Redeemer with Tormented Heart? I am very interested in how effective that would be.
@@xan7292 That combo is actually what I used when I first got the gun. It’s super fun, you get easy heals with big bursts of damage. Granted I was also using artful dodger with chef medal in that setup. On its own it’s still pretty good, especially if you use gunslinger to proc sleight of hand and reload redeemer. I used challenger and explorer to get both of their 30 total damage bonuses, you could use summoner for a bit more explosive damage, it’ll cost damage to redeemer though. For rings I used Detonating Cord, feedback loop, mark of the destroyer, and for the final ring it’s up to you. Burden of the excavator can give a nice boost to explosive damage at the cost of them not being able to crit, or you can just run a total damage ring like burden of the destroyer.
Thanks a lot for these videos man <3
Handler/Challenger can get you out of a lot bad spots. Sadly, THE CUBES care not about such petty mortal concerns like second winds.
Please gunfire… make the legendary perks cost a simulacrum to reroll. This is a tedious grind, that no one enjoys. Beating bosses should give you an easy 5 points in your prism, beating 19 bosses for 4 levels max is obsurd…. I’m falling asleep halfway through everytime 😭😭😭
All rings?
What about the ring? Like the ones I run in the builds? Or are you asking for a video of me talking about all the rings? I have actually wanted to make a tier list for all the rings in the game, that would be the best way for me to talk about all of them in one collective space.
@WryHarpy a video about all the rings!!!
@@TheJojosmo You got it! It'll will probably be on the longer side but it will be fun to talk about all of them!
@@WryHarpy would love a long form video on the rings, plus there isn't really anything breaking down/analysing the rings anywhere else right now!
Yay, more peak content I'd say to leave the prism out of the testing I love it when a DLC is Apocalypse Approved ™️
I despise the prism system
Yeah the introduction of prisms made making build videos kinda polarizing lol on one hand the vets / content creators can max out a prism in 1-2 days max. Everyone else is left wondering if they’ll ever max out even one single prism lol hope the buffs come soon
i managed to destroy 3 prisms and to make 2 op ones u need only 1 op prism and just do boss rush and swich prism at end and ur gonna level it up fast
I was just reminded that a cap was put on charge speed in the 3rd DLC, in both the monorail and genesis builds I was over the cap. You could replace dog tags in monorail's build with any other damage neck and in the genesis build you could swap out the charge speed prism fragment or tolerance band with something else. Also I’ve been informed that monorail’s chance to explode isn’t a flat chance at the time of being fully charged, rather it ramps up over time. Luck of the devil is a multiplier to the scalar, I currently don’t have exact values for the modified graph, but when I do I’ll be sure to link them here. Even so don’t go overcharging the weapon without the mod, it still isn’t worth it lol.
For the BGS, I also found the charge attacks to not really be worth building around, as it just takes too long to build them for not enough of a damage bonus to warrant it. Instead, I wanted to make something around the fact that it gives additional weight, using trinkets like the Haymaker Ring and Burden of the Mesmer/Mason + Leto's Mk1. Then, instead of trying to hold charge, it can be used not for the stacks but instead to ignore stagger on certain attacks and swing back, while having a lot of DR for not getting oneshotted. I'm not a minmaxer, and I'm not sure how viable it is for Apocalypse, but it was pretty fun while I was fiddling around and testing it out.
I would prefer for Prisms to be generally ignored and only brought up in special cases where a weapon may have an absurd difference in power/usability because of a certain Legendary Perk or something. At least if they keep the grind as stupidly high as it is. It's the final DLC and they're adding a system that requires dozens of hours of RNG grind *now*, really?
Personally as a console player I'd prefer if Prisms were included just to see how absolutely cracked you could get a weapon to be Also why do you feel bad for console players, isn't the grind just as bad on pc¿
@@allisonshoemaker6866 It is the same grind yea, I just know that many pc players use alternative methods like console commands to bypass the need for the grind. As a content creator who wants to show off all that the game has to offer, I need to use mods to be able to make new prism setups on the fly. If I had to grind 7+ different prisms for one video it’d take me hours, time I’d rather spend recording footage to use in my videos demonstrating their potential in builds. Thankfully with the grind getting slashed in half in the next major update, along with the big boost in boss rush xp gains, it should be far easier to level prisms for everyone.
I like your analysis on stuff but why no builds videos?
@@jonathanrivera870 The reason why I’m sparse using builds in these videos is usually because I know other UA-camrs like Bolt Jamison are better at demonstrating different steps. The closest I’ve gotten to full on build videos are the archetype ones, in those I show off at least one build per skill. Perhaps when that series is done I could make some wacky build videos to show off some niche builds that are interesting.
I think alot of console players watch ur videos.
@@justinholtman I really should do a poll to see how many viewers are on console, would be a good way to gauge my use of the prism system for future videos.
On Prisms, I would either ignore the Prism systems, they are a bonus, the game is not balanced around their existence. I would only bring up the prisms if they feel like they make something much more of a contender than without a prism boost.
I think they’re amazing… however the grind and process in making one is not. Imo the fragments should’ve stayed on the relic, and the prism should’ve been ONLY about the “legendary”/“exotic” perk you have That perk should also cost 1-2 simulacrums to reroll, or cost 500-1000 relic dust 🙏
@@StFigarlandShanks having the legendary re-roll cost simulacrum would have been nice. I just 100% the game yesterday, including having every weapon/mutator be fully leveled, so yeah, the only material that matters now is relic dust for re-acquiring relic fragments. And yeah, them being called relic fragments is weird now, since they are no longer tied to the relic. They should be prism fragments now.
It's been a bash, WryHarpy. Perhaps we'll meet again if/when Remnant 3 releases.
Great as always
1:45 Is it stated anywhere what the full effects of Luck of the Devil are? I haven’t been able to find anything that wasn’t just testing/guessing in Reddit threads.
@@Un_Important Unfortunately the only two things I know that are affected by luck of the devil are all the negative effects on all seeing eye removed, and the death chance roll on monorail. If a full list ever comes out I could see myself doing a mini video covering them all.
@ Yeah that would be great, supposedly it effects anything with an rng role like devouring loop and bandit mutator. When I rolled it as one of my 3 legendaries on my tank prism I save stated to try it and didn’t notice a huge difference. I guess that might also affect things like emergency switch and conservation seal but I forgot to check those before I save scummed back. Honestly seems like it should just be part of Explorer’s prime perk.
4:48 do you say this because theres a way to actually skip this boring ass prism grind with mods?
@@unholylightning4617 On pc yeah, you can use console commands to spawn in tomes of knowledge to skip the grind, as well as spawn in all the fragments to reacquire them after being fed to the prism. Here’s a link to the nexus mod I use to enable the console: www.nexusmods.com/remnant2/mods/2
yep 100% lol pc can be modded and give exp bonus thus meaning they don't know the grind we have
Great video. I like that you are more in-depth than any other remnant creator and much more critical at that too… I agree that some some of the new stuff is absolutely overpowered. Something definetly changed in Tragics attitude towards balance. I remember the balance patches where we got nerfs on spread reduction and crit stuff only to be able now to 2-shot bosses or stunlock them with 10k+ dps builds….not sure if thats healthy for the game. :/ When it comes to prisms I think you could show weapon regular dps without one and then show a screenshot of a perfect prism for the gun with the new dps values.
you willl misst this game retards,

Prisms annoy me to no end, RNG grind fest designed to suck life and time out of you. But hey, at least we got arguably the best treasure hunt in the series with this DLC, really hope they lean into that type of questing more, instead of "oh hey what if haha, you wait 24 hours lmao, so cool"
Great video, tho I disagree with many of your observations. I love that the DLC has space farms, it seems like a nice change from the desert wastelands of previous N'erud, and it feels feeting with what the Drzyr are all about. I also loved that we could somehow fly around so we could see properly the overworld of N'erud, i was getting tired of just walking corridors Anyway great video
@@Danilli29 I’m actually fine with there being a farm theme, and I agree it’s a nice break from the vast wastelands we had before. I even like how it fits into the story from the bits and pieces of lore across the DLC. It makes sense as they mention shifting a lot of their research away from areas like cloning into farming, so seeing how they translated their tech into agriculture is really neat! That’s why I like the N’Erudian reaper elite enemy and boss. My only real complaint is handling of a few sections with the tall crops + the fog that can obstruct line of sight with projectile/ranged attacks. Thankfully the sections are scarce and don’t last long when they do appear. And as for the paragliders and flying around, I do like the mechanic, compared to the aforementioned desert wastes and hallways it’s absolutely a breath of fresh air. It’s mainly the abundance of secrets that rely on using one that hurt their implementation imo. I also wish the wind columns were less finicky, I’ve had to turn around and reenter them many times due to them not sending me high enough or just making my character jitter up and down whilst inside them. A bit more polish, and splitting some of the secrets to be connected to the larger islands would’ve helped alleviate the issue in my eyes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I would like them to do a season 2 DLC and refrain from Remnant 3.
With 3 dlcs it’s now improbable for me to get the right roll for the Tranquil smfh 😢
Any tips on how I can attain the Tranquil heart?
For your (maybe eventual) Explorer archetype overview, I'd recommend running Chef Medal! It's a very nice method to keep up the archetype's weird damage perk. I've had a lot of success with an Archon/Explorer setup utilizing Ford's Scattergun slotted with Astral Burst and Pressure Point. Makes Scattergun play a bit like Remnant 1's Breath of the Desert. God, I miss instant cast mods so much.
Honestly I think this DLC is the second best overall, with some claim to being the best. I love the verticallity of the area, and it finally made N'erud an interesting place to explore, though I think I prefer Forlorn Coast overall with how interconnected it is, all three are pretty but I think I do prefer the aesthetic of the other two just because I personally prefer fantisy to si-fi. The new enemies are some of the best in the game, I don't care for the mist drones and wasn't particularly impressed with the big armed eletes, but the four-armed machines are an immaculate enemy type, especually compared to the overly tanky monsters in DLC 1 and the guys who's only challenge comes from being immune to my main damage type from DLC 2. The new ones have a lot of interesting moves and ways to fight you at both close and long ranges, and they seem better coded than other enemies not to gank you with unavoidable damage as often. The harvester enemies are also fun, although they may have too much health, and the new astropath is more engaging than the old ones. The story is indeed the weakest part, there isn't much reason to care about the fate of N'erud, and Alepsis-Taura doesn't feel like a personal threat like Nightweaver did, I never felt like it could be waiting around any corner to hunt me down, even when you go to fight it, it gives you the option to back out. Similar to the other N'erud storylines, I wish there was an option to fight the custodian instead because I don't see the point to any of it. However, I do think Tal-Ratha succedes where Lydusa failed in having amazing buildup, similar to The One True King, Alepsis-Taura was constantly present in the story of N'erud, with it literally looming over you as you travel the planet, and challenging a black hole to a 1v1 is just the most badass climax ever. I don't understand much about Alepsis-Taura's personality and motives, but it doesn't irritate me in the way Lydusa does. I was absolutely on her side and tried to do what she wanted, then she turned around and tried to kill me for no reason and I had to kill her, the other two endings make sense, but that one still irritates me. At least Alepsis-Taura tells you immediately that it will kill you when you meet, rather than trying to pull the twist for the fourth time. The best part of the DLC in my opinion is the bosses, it has the best roster of the DLC's easily in my opinion, DLC 1 has the mediocre Sunken Witch, the great Bruin, and the pretty good OTK. DLC 2 has the pretty bad Cinderclad, the great Stonewarden, and the mediocre Lydusa, but DLC 3 has something else, the Reaper is obviously the weakest of the three, but even it has some interresting and engaging mechanics, I'd say it's good. The duo fight is excellent, it's a lot like Demon Princes from DS3 mixed with Ixillis and it works really well, all three phases of the fight are really interesting and dynamic, one of the best ganks in soulslikes, truly great. And I think Alepsis-Taura is also great, though I found it to be the most challenging boss in the game, rolling vicious/spiteful probably had something to do with that. Its melee attacks feel like a dance and is probably my favorate move in the game, its wave attacks and smash combo are also interesting. It's kinda similar to Labarynth sentinal in being a boss comprised of shapes and trying to be surreal, except it's an actual boss, rather than a single gimmick, I don't envy the people tasked with making a black hole into a boss, but they did a great job with that prompt. And it actually lives up to the hype, which is where OTK failed, he's a great boss himself, but breaking the hammer does a little too much work and makes him pretty easy. My one complaint for Alepsis-Taura is the final phase, it lasts for a good minute and a half because it's tanky, out of ideal range, and has a lot of health left, during which time it just spams the same attack on repeat, I don't think a Nightmare callback is what Remnant 2's final DLC needed for its conclusion, shame that such a great boss goes out by reminding me of the worst boss in soulslikes. But yeah, overall, the DLC is a lot of fun, though it doesn't feel like I a lot left to do like it did after DLC 1 as far as the DLC itself goes, I have the other two forms of Alepsis-Taura left, but they're very similar, and unless it gets Vicious/Spitefull again, it'll probably be easier than the base form. Overall, Losomn is just the GOAT of this game, all three of its storylines are excellent and it has by far the best lore with all the different characters witu complex and conflicting motivations and layers of deception to guess at unwravelling, plus the Maleific palace version of the Nara and the Jubhawk really sticks with me. Yaesha is cool with it's three different pantheons of gods and stuff surrounding Jinas, but the root being the villain really does lesson it. I kinda hope we're done with the Root, Annihalation feels like the end of them and I lost interest after the reveal that humanity created them, we already had the "science has gone too far" moral with Harsgaard, and it makes the root seem far less all powerful and enigmatic knowing that out dumb*ss' made them. It's like if it was suddenly revealed the Drazyr created Alepsis-Taura rather than it's true nature being left mysterious. N'erud is the least interresting overall, in all three storylines the Custodian tells you to kill someone, you have no choice but to, then nothing changes for the better. It's cool seeing the deeper levels of corruption and unrest that existed within the Drazyr, and learning that the choice to enter the black hole wasn't as universal as the Custodian presented it, but the thing is that we're never allowed to challenge him on it, we never get to tell him he's struggling pointlessly against a calamity that's already happenned, we just have to do as we're told until he eventually just gives up. At the end, I'm left feeling like there was no point, N'erud began as a world with only the Custodian, Spark, Tal-Ratha, Sha-Hala and Alepsis--Taura left alive, and in the end, the Custodian is dead, Spark leaved, Tal-Ratha and Sha-Halw are dead, and Alepsis-Taura has given up on it. We arrive on a world with barely any hope and take what little it has left until it's truly empty. If they were going for a Dark souls 3 age of darkness ending of putting an end to the constant struggling to kling to an era already lost, and laying this broken world to rest, they should have been clearer about it, because if your story is more ambiguous than Dark souls, you have a problem. It kinda just feels like we're the bad guys of N'erud's story. If the moral was just to destroy N'erud and be done with it, why is the override pin Sha-Hala ending not something presented as being done intentinally? So anyway, those are my extensive thoughts on the DLC, as well as the brief detaios of my feelings about all of Remnant's story. Great game, just looking for more Losomn and less N'erud as far as story goes.
Holy hell I think you would have done a much better job writing the script for this video! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts, there were a lot of moments reading that made me go: "Hey that's a really good point!" Especially with the N'Erud section.
@@WryHarpy Thank you! That's very kind of you to say, most people aren't willing to read that much (some of them even comment telling me as much for some reason). I'm glad it wasn't completely boring to read as well. Remnant has a lot of great and interesting lore which no one online seems to have botherred to touch, which is a real shame, even I have only scratched the surface really.
If You think about the nerud lore its really messed up... The lore is that the Nerudians merge their collective consciousness with Alepsus tora. We help them do that. By finding the items and giving them to the keeper. And now we kill Alepsus tora.😂 so we just killed all life in that universe 😅
I'm fairly sure Alepsis Taura doesn't die, the dialogue seems to imply he just kinda went "ok, you're a bit tougher than you look, interesting" and then he goes back to doing black hole things.
Do I have to play the dlcs in order of release? If this one isn’t all that great I’ll do it first and save the others for later. Also what’s the tier list for the DLCs?
@@BillSharl Thankfully you can play them in whatever order you’d like. I enjoyed the bosses and general combat with the new elites and basic enemies. It was just the overarching story and over reliance of the paraglides that I had some issues with. Also if I had to rank the dlcs I’d probably say for fun factor it’d go: Awakened King, Forgotten Kingdom, Dark Horizon. For gear(which there is a lot of per DLC so I could be missing somethings) Dark Horizon, Awakened Kingdom, Forgotten Kingdom. It’s hard to really quantify a ranking in some cases, like should I consider polygun and its shortcomings when I rank forgotten kingdom even though it was added free for everyone? I can see myself doing an overall ranking of this topic in a future video. It’d probably be best if I fully read every bit of lore too for the associated locations so I can give my complete and honest opinions.
