Ho, man, did you undersell Sandstorm on Monolith. It's probably the best mod in the game. For some reason the base damage is stupidly high and you can have multiple at once and can gen one whilst another is out like Firestorm, so with enough mod gen you can spam them and the mod gen from them starts powering themselves. Combine that with the set and forget mentality of them and you see Monolith on tons of optimised builds that don't fire their primary weapon. Funnily enough, because it uses the same tracking as Firestorm but isn't as tall, it doesn't hit Sha Hala even with Amplitude. Polygun's description is actually hexadecimal aka base-16, a numerical counting system with 16 values per digit (0-9 and then A-F for the remaining 6). It's commonly used in programming as it lines up well with base-2 (only 0s and 1s) which is how information is stored at its lowest levels. As for the gun itself... man, I wish the maxed out mode was actually... strong. Because your reward for playing it well is nothing special at all. Honestly the best build I could make out of it was a Hallowed Egg Melee build where I used the overheat to intentionally proc Opportunist and Matriarch's Ring. Clunky but fun. Thorn and Trinity Crossbow are just terrible too, I don't know what happened to the gun balancing this DLC. I can't find ANY way to make them work well.
@@meathir4921 Yeah i was under the impression only one sandstorm could be out at a time. One commenter pointed out how strong it can be if you build for mod gen. After watching some clips of people building for it in a mod spam setup it’s nuts how powerful it can be.
I have a freaking love-hate relationship with monolith. On one side it and nebula add much needed damage to tank and support builds (especially needed against Lydusa DPS Check) and on the other side its mod is so broken. Easy to recharge, does decent damage that is mod+elemental, tracks its targets and applies exposed?! I want what Gunfire employees had when they designed the weapon 😂
Really nice video. The polygun seemed really interesting at first, but if I wanted to have skill checks, I would have played dead by daylight XDDDDDDDDDDD
You really didn't need to go with HUGS for Monalyth, the weapon is extremely powerful because of the mod, even just using Archon is enough to melt the DLC on apoc. Or it was... has it been nerfed?
@@samaron8970 It can no longer have more than one sandstorm out at a time. I figured it wasn’t intended, and gunfire seems to have thought the same. I made the build with the belief only one could be out at a time, months later and now the build fits lol. Even after the nerf the mod is still really powerful, just can’t spam melt everything now.
@@WryHarpy That's honestly a pity, don't get me wrong, it was ridiculous before, but I feel like just deceasing the damage or exposed potency would have been enough. Also, did they nerf any bleed things recently? I swear my Merciless build used to do 50 a tick, ans now it's alternating between 50 and 10.
@@samaron8970 That’s a really good question, I know some undocumented stuff usually slips through in major patches, it wouldn’t surprise me if some of the bleed stuff got nerfed, although it could be a bug, I’d definitely make a post in the official discord and see if anyone else has had the same issue. There’s a ton of bugs with the update unfortunately.
@@WryHarpy Ok, as long as it's not intended, I'm fine with it, it just didn't feel right, because of all the weapons in the game, I don't think Merciless was the one in need of a nerf. Hey, at least I can use it now unlike the last DLC where everything was immune to my favorate build. Please let me know if you learn anythig more.
@@WryHarpy Yeah, hope they keep it feeling unique, the whole exposed thing is neat. Btw you mentioned it only being able to send out 1 storm at a time? I run a double storm build occasionally and Anakin would hate my gameplay, sand is everywhere :D
@@OnlyNeedJuan I was under the impression sending out another sandstorm ended the first one (I was probably just charging it too slow lol). Sounds like it’s another case similar to Fargazer. If intended that’s great, if not I def see that being changed whenever they get to touching it 😔
It seems Gunfire Games has skipped over the usual in-between DLC updates like the October patch for Awakened King and February patch for Forgotten Kingdom. Big shame, would've been nice to have another aberration event with some balance changes.
I don't know if it's still the case, but a funny thing about Polygon's "magazine" is that it always counts as "full" so top heavy has 100% uptime.
Ooo I'll have to check that out, sounds like a good pick for it. I'd definitely run that over ghost shell if it's still the case.
10:14 When i down form my teammate's Thorn, I really felt that.
Looking forward to your next video!!
Nice to hear some love for the Deep Rock OST
Ty for the video. Once the 3rd DLC releases I am expecting a vid too. 👍
Monolith rocks. I beat the the Labyrinth Sentinel without ever leaving the safe zone by spamming sandstorm.
Lotta cool weapons this time around, although its a shame that the Polygun has so many issues...

My favorite gun so far

Maybe early for monolith since it's guaranteed getting nerfed haha

Lol this game is deader than dead. Funny how every remnant 2 content creater hasn't uploaded in months.

@WryHarpy All I want is a survival mode. New bioms would be awesome but I highly doubt we will get any.
How to get on the roof?
There a console command I use on the pc version to teleport to wherever my crosshair is. It’s super useful for cinematic shots.
