I can confirm it works for savior too. I just beat Hardcore Veteran yesterday for the first time. My last world ended up being the one true king. So instead of starting over I just decided to finish it anyways and good thing I did because I could buy the gun from the vendor right after. I made it a corrupted version then called it a night. I big excited to finally try it today. Also I was on Xbox series x. Idk if that matters or not but just an fyi.
One thing that I will add to this is to start the campaign on the forbidden grove. You have to fight two bosses before the ravager, but just shoot the doe. That skips his fight, but the music puzzle just before can give you bolt driver, and more importantly, song of eafir. That thing is so damn useful for a lot of fights, and it can deal with the orbs on the annihilation fight very easily. I didn't risk getting enigma, so the song was the best one to have for me.
Even without skipping the fight with killing the doe, Ravager is far easier than Corrupter, who consistently gives me trouble every time i fight it on nightmare and apocalypse. So definitely second this. At most I would do the thing to get the resurrecting fruit from a red throne adventure if youre not running challenger
yeah but that's for nerds, yeah some of the items are good, but the only "meta" one really is ahanae so you only need to do yaesha, so all you need to do is 2 normal bosses since you can skip ravager, if you're gonna do hardcore, do it for real, you won't feel satisfied with it if you save cheat, once you have played the game so much and have everything, hardcore or playing with friends is the only thing thats fun anymore, do it legit, you might find it annoying at the time but you'll love it when you beat it.
I'll say this much, the Forgotten Kingdom dlc has really helped pushing me into finally starting my first hardcore run. The Invoker's Way of Kaeula is an absolute lifesaver when things get crowded, and Zero Divide amulet saves me from running after ammo or keeping boxes in my inventory. I know there are better amulets out there, but it's another aspect that I won't need to worry about~
Hey i just discovered your channel and this videos is extremely well made. Watching this and the final boss guide made my brother and I beat hardcore veteran. Thank you so much!
Would have had it out like an hour sooner but Premier Pro was giving me issues with the reward section. Had to make them all still images instead of actual videos. Sad but I didn’t feel like waiting 2 hours for a video to render haha.
@@WryHarpy i didnt even know that was a thing you could do, i kinda just... started flowing through his different attacks on my first playthrough while dumping bullets into him
Just wanna throw something into the guide from my own experience, while you should very much avoid the one true king instance since it doesn't count towards completion it isn't a bad idea to at least make your way to leywise near the staring area and pick up the attornment fold before you reroll, you might not have a use for it right then and there or at all if your lucky but if you can get lucky with drops and find things like the alchemy stone ring, blood tinged ring, painless obsidian or the neckbone amulet you can give yourself a substantial power/sustainability boost Edit: I'm glad I'm not the only one to have found venom to be one of the "this might be where I die" bits of the hardcore run, He does a ton of instant burst damage in very little time with a ton of AOE''s and screen wide moves that can leave you with very little room to manoeuvre while blinking you from 100 to 0 before you know what happened.
Basically, the game scales over the course of the campaign. From the start to the end of the first world it spans from power level 1 - 5. The second and third worlds go from 5 - 9 roughly. Root Earth jumps up to 12 and ends at 14. These are the values even if you never upgrade your equipment or somehow don't level your archetype. Unless you are doing a no archetype run you're going to have that level up over the course of the run. If you hold off on upgrading weapons you can restrict how high the game scales to its minimum. TL;DR Once you get past the first world upgrade until you are power level 4 or so. Then don't upgrade through the 2nd and 3rd world. When you get to root earth you can spend your resources to get to power level 11. and then once you reach the final boss you can grind if you wish to go above power level 14 to have an easier time.
I feel that. I can't tell you how many times I've died to stupid platforming where I either missed my jump or my dude just didn't grab the edge even though he should. Lmao
Would i be handicapping myself playing on survivor difficulty? I think it is. I’m completely new to the game and haven’t played the first one. Solo player and would love to try and get the hang of the ropes before trying to sweat in content. Or will the loot just be ass no matter what if I’m playing at a noob difficulty?
You can totally play on survivor difficulty! The loot you get will be the same for the most part no matter the difficulty. The differences veteran and above make are in the amount of scrap and archetype experience earned, and the account bound items you’ll unlock by beating the campaign. (I think beating bosses on the highest difficulty has a chance to yield a rare crafting material too.) Other than that I’d absolutely recommend starting the game on survivor. I personally find it to be a bit more challenging than normal difficulty from the first game. Veteran is a noticeable jump in difficulty, but still very fair. Nightmare and apocalypse can be incredibly difficult for new players, it’s why I recommend trying them only once you feel comfortable with the lower two difficulties.
@@WryHarpy thank you so much for taking the time to explain it out for a new player like me. I’m nervous but in a good way to start my journey. I know the end game highest difficulty will be there when I’m ready I just wanted to get used to mechanics and the game itself. Thank you again my friend 🤙

@@ZeLunatiik All the account bound items will be in their associated vendors on new characters. They do cost scrap but you can buy them whenever you can. Yeah all 6 of the items unlocked in HC mode are considered “Account Bound” items. They are items that will be available for purchase at the various vendors of ward 13 on all present and future characters once unlocked.

seriously, watching @yeetsmemario as he mentioned is a great idea, he does new game hardcore apocalypse runs with all the archetypes, he hasnt finished them yet though, watching him play gives you insight in how to fight all of the different enemies/bosses effectively, the vods of his successful runs are about 8-9 hours each, but highly worth the watch
Once you’ve unlocked any archetype for the first time, its engram becomes available for purchase at Wallace for 1500 scrap on all present and future made characters!
