Let's Build a New Front Spreader Bar for a 1932 Ford Roadster
One feature of my '32 Ford Roadster that always annoyed me was the hideous 2" diameter V-shaped pipe front spreader bar (connects the front frame tips). The one thing that kept me from replacing it was the (likely) possibility of damaging an otherwise beautifully fabricated and painted frame.....but as we all know, desperation can always overcome good sense. This video shows every step in the replacement of the hideous "snow plow" spreader bar with a new, hand-fabricated aluminum and stainless steel beauty. I hope you enjoy it.

1934 Ford 5-Window Coupe Tour
Переглядів 7 тис.2 роки тому
In this video I will attempt to show every detail.....both good and bad......of my 1934 Ford coupe. I've owned it for a couple years and made many improvements. The best feature is the original Henry Ford steel body (fenders are fiberglass). It's a totally reliable cruiser, intended for daily driving rather than being trailered to car shows. Check it out and see what you think, but be sure to w...

1929 Model A Ford Highboy Roadster....Walkaround Tour and Brief Ride
Переглядів 3,6 тис.2 роки тому
This is a video tour of a recently acquired 1929 Ford Roadster hot rod, constructed in the "Highboy" style of the late-50's and early-60's. It features a 1963 401-cubic-inch Buick "Nailhead" engine, TH-400 transmission, and a virtually flawless original body. I discuss the changes made since purchase and take viewers for a brief ride through the neighborhood.
Car Show at Rudolph Chevrolet

Here is my video tour of a recent car show at the local Rudolph Chevrolet dealership. The background music is deafening and may arouse the YT music-copyright bot's wrath. Hopefully it can excise any offending tunes and allow the rest of the video to remain posted. You've seen a few of the cars before, but there are several new ones......many quite nice. I understand that the orange '33 Chevy co...
1934 Plymouth Coupe with a Blown BBC........Quick Tour

I thought you might get a kick out of this really nice old 1934 Plymouth Coupe with a Dyer Machine-671-blown 1965 Chevelle 396 engine. E.T. mags all around, Wilwood disc-brake system on all 4 wheels, S-W gauges, Cragar weed-burner zoomie headers, TH 400 transmission, and pin striping by Jody Clark. We'll go for a ride in a subsequent video. Thanks !!
O'Reilly's Car Show 12 June 21: Limited Turnout due to Ungodly Heat

It's been at or above 110 degrees here for the past few days, so attendance was limited, but I managed to pick out 3 vehicles that I think/hope you will like. The first one is just about the nicest resto-rod pickup I have ever seen in person. I'll tell you the story in the video, but one detail I found out after making the video is that the fellow(s) who did the build is from the Motor Trend Ch...

January 9th Car Show in the O'Reilly's Parking Lot

Despite the ongoing and seemingly endless plague that has shut down a lot of indoor events, our monthly car shows continue, admittedly with reduced participation and attendance. Several really nice new rods showed up for today's show and I did my best to provide an overview of all of them, including my recently acquired 1950 Chevy 1/2 Ton Pickup. This is a departure from my usual type of vehicl...
Let's Fabricate a Panhard Rod for a Straight Front Axle
Переглядів 12 тис.4 роки тому
Viewers are familiar with the 1930 Model A coupe I've featured in several previous videos. High speed steering stability has always been an issue with this car.....it tended to dart and wander, particularly at 50 mph and above. After trying several "fixes", I finally determined that the problem was caused by the front axle's ability to move laterally relative to the frame and (cross) steering t...

20:22 paused. 😊 It could look better if the entire car was higher implying the frame rail going more toward the front wheel's center cap. Keeping the same rake lifting the entire car a few inches. And it would still appear to rain downward, it is keeping the rake angle that shall imply it is flowing in all directions while adding a balanced blend as it shall be sitting very low still. 🎄

Hey, I was wondering are those the Speedway version of the Stromberg? I'm thinking about getting a set but first I would like to figure out if they're any good. It seems to be difficult to find anyone who has actually run them and has an opinion about how they work or don't work. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

I talked to a guy from so-cal speed shop 2 days ago at March meets, and he said they don't sell a kit without this panhard bar. He said it's a must. My 33 Ford is so bad that it wanders all over the road. I have bias ply also, so it's not even fun to drive right now

Do Not Use This Video As An Instruction Manual... it contains some Dangerous construction elements! It appears in the video there are no threads coming thru batwing nylon locking nuts. Also, no washer between batwing Allen bolts head and joint ball. This prevents hein joint from sliding out over bolt should heim end fail. Scary...

You can buy shorter leaf springs ( eye to eye ). A piece of 4 x 4 and a couple big C clamps to pre load the spring and stretch it to reach the shackles and they'll sit almost level with the floor.

If you were experiencing the tires following the cracks, lines or depressions in the road, you likely have bias ply tires. Radial tires will not do that.
