  • It was time to upgrade my pillar Drill ! My old one was a Silverline 350W drill that was the cheapest I could find at the time when I first started woodworking. I've had it for 4-5 years and its showing its age now. So, time to replace and upgrade in quality.
The first thing you notice, is that this is massive!!! Its so big, it wont fit on my bench! I either need to re-organise the shop, or build a dedicated drill table for it. With space being a premium, I need to rethink!

Hello there. Have the same old drill as you. And I've been using it for 5 years. The drill is tired now. And I have to change it. The new drill is more beautiful and powerful. You will work better with this machine. Good luck. I watched you excitedly. thank you....

I thought that as it said Bench drill it would be a similar size, but that thing is huge! I like the rack and pinion to change height of the table.

I knew I was in trouble when I unpacked the main bar from the box!!! And agree with you on the rack and pinion, that's a game changer for me!

Thanks just found your site. I had a small drill press like yours and only this week purchased a Sealey gdm 150 16 speed and found out how to use the depth stop thanks to your demo.

Cool Drill Press got something similar but not as New You Will Luv it, though thought about taking up welding ?? as that is how my drill stand was made as it sort of weighs a little bit [ 50 Kg } so make sure it's Well made with splayed Legs. Great Channel Mate

I've been lookin at this drill press lately, I need the added quill travel this has over the normal 50mm ones.
Hows it been doin, any problems?? Question..... can the rack turn around the column allowing the table to be swung left and right in relation to the chuck?? I often have to hang stuff off the side of the table for drilling.

hi mate, sorry for the late reply, been mental busy with work and stuff. Drill press is great, I've had zero problems with it, and still use it most days. The depth stop system is a bit hard to dial in exactly, and takes a bit of trial and error to get it set right, but not as bad as the old system I had with the threaded rod and the two locking nuts!!! As for the rail, i'm not sure how easy that would be, memory says that it would be quite hard due to the way it assembled. Good luck with your purchase if you do go ahead, I'm more than happy with mine!. Thanks for watching!

@@andy.elliott.foreverpens thanks for your reply buddy 🤙 I think I'm gonna go ahead with that drill as it meets most of my criteria, mostly the 80mm stroke 😁 soon as Jebbtools gets it back in stock its mine 😂🤙
It's nice to see a fellow Irishman (by way of the Pool) on the Tubes lad 💥🤙
And dony worry about late replies...... life has a funny way of gettin in the way sometimes 😂🤣

@@lennyrossa834 hi Lenny, not with the scroll saw. I have an Einhell scroll saw. However I do have the 10inch Sip cabinet table saw, which is absolutely brilliant! I can't recommend it enough!

Hi there pal, can I ask you a question, I have a chance to upgrade my old Draper drill press, I was thinking of SIP but I was reading some reviews on woodworking forums and many had dreadful things to say about SIP so I am a little concerned, I was then thinking of Axminster drill press with top quality bearings, both presses are si similar in price. I would value your opinion, what is your experience now with your sip drill press, is it accurate, smooth and bearings good or is there issue, kind regards Louie
