Casio MT-100 - classic Casiotone with graphic equalizer
The Casiotone MT-100 (1985) uses the classic early 80s vowel-consonant synthesis used in the MT-400V, but instead of a low-pass filter, it adds a 5-band graphic equalizer. I used the graphic EQ on most of the sounds, including the drums. It’s good for getting some extra brightness and clarity in sounds that have a lot of mid-range frequencies by default. The EQ bands start with 350Hz, so unfort...
Yamaha Portasound PSS-11 - compact keyboard with AWM sounds
The Yamaha PSS-11 is a small keyboard from 1992 with an AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) tone generator, as Yamaha tried to put more realistic sounds based on samples into their home keyboard range, seen as a step up from the FM sound chips that had dominated the PSS range in the second half of the 90s. The PSS-11 has only 39 basic sounds, including percussion. The rest of the 100 voices on offer are...
Yamaha keytar as MIDI controller - SHS-10 playing Reface CS and CP
Using two keyboards from the Reface series as sound modules for the SHS-10 to play via MIDI. The SHS-10 has a MIDI out only, which can be connected to the Reface keyboards via a standard MIDI cable. The pitch bend, sustain and vibrato controls on the SHS-10 all map to controls on the Reface. On the CS, vibrato controls the LFO depth, switching to its highest setting when pressed. Since the LFO ...
Casio HT-3000 - Spectrum Dynamic synth
The HT-3000 (1987) is from the digital-analogue hybrid "Spectrum Dynamic" synthesis family of Casio keyboards. It has a DCO-VCF-DCA synthesis structure with a single oscillator, but using initial waveforms that vary over time, with a resonant analogue filter and a stereo chorus effect with three modes. Parameters can all be edited, although the interface is irritating; one parameter (e.g. filte...

I literally found a NEW Pss-390 in the box and I'm going to make very good use of it... Excellent work and you helped me a lot with this demonstration.
Thanks. That's a great find. I've had a couple of keyboards bought for these videos that had basically sat as new for 30+ years - always a gem
The little robot is sending me...
🙌🏻
👏🏻
A wonderful reminder to learn to play your own arpeggios!
top
hi there, do you think 50 euros is a good price to buy plz ? thx
I don't really know prices in Europe, but comparing to UK prices I would say that's about right. You might get lucky and find one for less, but I wouldn't pay more than £60 (€70).
@@alfonsemusic oh hi thanks a lot for your answer, the keyboard has no power supply and the on-off knob is missing :(
@@cusoonmyfriend3738 The old keyboards I've bought don't always come with a power supply. I bought a universal adapter a few years ago that serves me well in that situation (different plug options and voltage settings). Missing knob is a shame - if that's the only thing wrong with it, it might still be worth it, although if it was me I'd probably hold out to find a complete one.
@@alfonsemusic yes you are right, i will wait for one thank you ^^ subbed btw, will be checking your stuff now
Buen video!
You have motivate me to reanimate my old Yamaha PSR 75 was standing long time in the basement. A nice piece from 1993👍
Great, have fun with it!
Thankyou! its a time capsule of 90s music styles
Nothing compares Juno Ballades👍
Got a 2nd one (I sold the first), 15€postage included. 2 black keys are missing & there's a bad connection on the back, at the moment it only works with batteries. I'll try to fix that later.-
It'll be great when it's fixed up
Nice LOFI Example!
Im going to use this at church with a connected sound pack
Hi. I bought this synth when they made it for iOS. When it came out, they made a funny advertisement. ua-cam.com/video/9pqhfY9R3u0/v-deo.html
😄 Nice, I hadn't seen that before
jaw dropping!
Are you kidding me??? You can sing that good!?? You are a genius 👏 🙌 There's not one song / tune that you put on your channel that I don't like. Amazing!
Thank you very much! :) Appreciate you taking the time to listen to my tunes
I've been listening to all your music ever since I've discovered your jams on the Yamaha PSS series. You are truly a gifted musician! I love your tunes! But one question, how did you get a hold of so many synthesizers?? Anyways, I'm truly becoming a fan of yours. I can't stop listening!!
Some were bought, some were borrowed. The PSS-580 I had since I was a kid... I don't keep everything - I've moved house too many times in recent years for building up a collection. Thanks for listening!
You're such a good musician 😊
amazing
I was grooving hard on this tune!
It's been all about t time for another video. It didn't show up in my feed. So I had to visit your account to finally watch it now. Lots oif luck, success, love & health in 2025!!!
Thanks! Happy New year to you
Don't underestimate the power of the casio i have a cz 1 cz 101 vz 1 ht 700 ht 3000
Sounds just as good if not better than these so called dream synths
Awesome i have one myself
Great productions
Great sounds and great track
I have it too, I bought it a year ago at a flea market together with speakers for $15. Love it!
thank God I have both! I'm so much in love with those synths, the pss470 was my first key synth, it's part of my musical history. Today my pss480 arrived from the mail, I was so hooked on it, could not stop playing! I ran it through reverb, vibrato, distortion pedals, had such a great time!
Great comparison. I love your passion for the FM keyboards ❤
Awesome demo!
I have SY22 and SY35 and all the other SY Synthesizers, SY55, SY77, SY85 and the Flagship SY99!
do you have the casio mt 240 by any chance? would love to hear you make a song using that thing
No, I haven't got my hands on one yet
excelente!!!!! from Brazil.
Just came across your channel and it's dope. How do you not have at least half a million subscribers! I'm going to like and share all your stuff
Thanks! Glad you like what I've been making. :)
Amazing!! Wow
A small analog synth but with a big sound that you could take for a MOOG if you didn't see it, lol!
Yep, it punches above its weight. Thanks for watching.
Another Great Video!!! The CT-320 is similar to the small Casio MT-52....so great and beautiful!!
Nice. I had the pss580 as a child. Always wanted this one, though...
A Genius :D
Is there a simple plug and play method for using this on MacBook GarageBand?
You can buy midi (DIN) to USB cables that would allow you to connect the midi ports of the keytar to your macbook.
Great! Love noize. It has it all! Literally 💝
Wow, this is so impressive! We used to have this keyboard at home when I was a kid. I never could play it and simply played with the different sounds and automatic drum beats. Would have been completely blown away, if I had known back then, that the keyboard could be used to create great tracks like this!
Crazy fun soundtrack!
Cheers!
Still one of your best ;)
Cheers! Nice to see you back around
Nice! An interesting (and quite expensive) analogue device, you must be enjoying yourself ;) With the single everything limitation, I imagine it must require some ingenuity and patience to find each sound and then sequence - the opposite of a microkorg. The springy bass sound is my favourite. I wonder if this would marry well with a multi fx pedal or a phaser to add depth?
Cheers. This one is with family in the Netherlands, hence I didn't have my usual setup. Despite its apparent limitations there is a lot of sound design possible, especially using the patch cables. Definitely some outboard fx would add a little extra.
Very nice vibes. I love how you exploited all the oscillators instead of focusing 90% on the supersaw. I would very much like to hear you play the Reface DX
Thanks. Reface DX is the only one I haven't tried, I have to admit.
