- I couldn't resist making one more tune with the SY22 before taking it back to Music Broth.

Yamaha SY22 Music Synthesizer (1990)
All sounds in this track are SY22 factory presets. The SY22 was launched in 1990 and is effectively a hybrid of Yamaha's outgoing FM synthesizer technology with their new AWM sample-based engine, with 2 FM operators and 2 AWM oscillators. A joystick provides vector control to blend between the chosen waveforms in the patch in different ways, either by affecting their volume (Level) or their pitch (Detune).
Programming new patches via the front panel is a fairly thankless task, but there is a good editor out there: ctrlr.org/sy35...

❤ Yamaha SY22 and its tabletop module version TG33 absolutely belongs in the list of greatly underrated excellent synthesizers of all timez! 🙌🙌👏👏

@@alfonsemusic so what I do when I watch your videos is try and copy the riffs by figuring out what notes you press. It's hard to see because it's not always easy to tell which note is pressed, so I experiment. I also slow down the videos to figure out the notes. There must be any easier way right? I don't know music notation, but I know the notes so I write for example (A long, C short etc.). I also know the common chords. Also, you prepare the parts separately. How you then play everything back in one is a complete mystery to me. so I'd like to see: 1) beginner riffs you can play right hand 2) beginner riffs for the left hand 3) very advanced - preparing parts and playing back as one. Hope that helps. Happy to email you further info if you want it. Thanks again for this great channel!
@@CaldonianDude that's really interesting to know how in depth you're going with the tracks. I'll have a think about it and see if there's something extra I could offer. Time is always the key! Thanks for following my videos :)
@@alfonsemusic Thank you. I'm still very much a beginner, but I do find your videos very inspiring. All the best.
