Camping in -12 degrees whilst hiking The Cumbria Way
hi all, thanks again for watching / reading...
the final days were still pretty epic snow, the very last section in to Carlisle you'll see isn't spectacular but its easy going and feels like a bit of a cool down to finish haha
annoyingly I had filmed a lot more on these days but the camera switched off stabilisation and I couldn't edit the footage well enough to use all of it, hope you don't mind!
was -12 degrees that first morning, which is bonkers but the sleeping bag was still toasty warm at that, dads not so much!
thanks for following along, ill see you on the next one!

Hiking and Camping in SNOW on the Cumbria Way
Переглядів 15 тис.21 день тому
Hi Everyone, thanks for reading! we had some epic conditions on this section, sadly some of which just weren't passable at the time, without taking silly risks anyway, hoping we made the right decision to come back and go around! Having researched a lot since this trip about condensation, it seems to be an issue everyone deals with on winter long distance hikes, a day or 2 is fine but a few day...

hi, thanks for reading! Me and Dad took on the challenge of hiking the Cumbria Way in winter, a 76 mile hike that takes you all the way up through the Lake District from Ulverston to Carlisle... We hoped for winter conditions and as you'll see in this series, we certainly got them! Ive tried to chat about the kit I used along the way but if you have any questions let me know in the comments, ho...

Hi, thanks for watching! me and dad are currently training to hike the Cumbria Way in January, winter edition, so we decided to hike the 22 mile Edale Skyline route in the peaks and wild camp along the way... winter thru hiking seems to be a different ball game altogether but we live the additional challenge and the scenery can be even more impressive this time of year... anyway hit me up with ...

Hi everyone, the final episode of our winter west highland way hike saw us waking up in -10 degrees at the bridge of Orchy, the cold caused a few issues but the scenery again was insane especially over Glencoe, what an experience! thanks so much for watching! I will look to make a video on the full kit list I took for this journey, failing that ill come back and add it all on to this descriptio...

Looks great, but is too much to ask that anyone that posts videos , proof reads their titles , come on it's not hard . Lincoshire .....😂🎉
No groundsheet, watch out for weeds 😉
Brilliant video and what an adventure… what do you use to video yourself on these adventures?
Nice sequoia trees
Great videos! It’s inspired me to get out and do this route this year 😊 maybe not in winter hahaha yeah 100% kit video would be very helpful!
Вот так и я хочу у себя! А все мастера говорят без бардюра нельзя
Fenc it off even if it saves only one life it could be a child
I’ve just come across you,s Guy’s brilliant work ?
Enjoyed watching your video however will do the walk earlier in the season when temperature is higher-cheers guys.
How many miles do you cover generally a day with the tent
Really enjoyed it, amazing views in the snow, and to do it with yer dad is fantastic. Great content 👍
absolutely fantastic, Love these videos.
❄️
Call in buddy I live in Horncastle, got a Yorkshire brew waiting for ya
Why run the tamper on the block? Wont that risk cracking or chipping on the face of the paver? Especially after sanding and finalizing the walk way why risk that and then have to replace and go through the sand/glue mixture when you could just let it sent in itself? Ive done a couple patios and walk ways but never ran the tamper on the paver. I need your explanation maybe different kind of tamper or you run at really low speed im not sure
We visited The Clachan in summer 2023 whilst staying just outside of Stirling and the food was incredible!
GReat video again! I went for the UGREEN Nexode 140W 25000mAh Power Bank. Pair it with a Nexode 65W fast charger. Can charge it in little over 120 minutes. Great when stopping at a cafe etc for 30-60 minutes and they allow a quick charge. Basically charges at 1% per minute. Given up on the old slow all day to charge power banks, thus now carry less power banks/weight.
Langdale, I beleive they never turn away proper thru hikers. They've never turned me away for 1 night. Two nights are for people that turn up in cars. If they turned you away they know you'll just pitch up 10 minutes up the valley! Enjoying seeing the trail in winter, might have to do it again out of season, looks great!
Bro no way, I know those trails really well. Hope you enjoyed it and check out the pub in donnington next time!
Another great hike!
That’s beautiful land
Go to the peek district. I did lost lad and back tour in -1 in the snow
Good call to turn back ,enjoy the rest of hike lads
I am looking at doing this in September with my hubby and 3 daughters. So, any tips would be grateful ❤
Garbage.
Nice mate
Wow. Your dad is caused legend.
That's a great pro tip with the hiking poles for wind on the MSR tent, looking forward to trying that on mine.
Great vid, live watching your stuff and your west highland way vids confirmed my desire to do it myself next year. Did the cape wrath last year staying in bothies would love to see you get on that mate we went kinlochbervie to durness via kearvaig bothy - you’d love it i reckon 👍🏻
Absolutely amazing,I am local to St Dogs and plan to do Newport to St Dogs then the 60 odd miles of the Ceredigion path which ends up in Ynys Las then I'l walk back down to New Quay where I live so about 30 odd miles so only about 104 miles but it will be a big challenge for me.Ive loved watching you on this walk,it makes me very grateful that I live here and have amazing walks.
Fantastic walk mate. Thanks for the great vlog. I walked 250 miles of the WCP in 2022 and loved it. This brought back many fond memories. Pembrokeshire was my favourite part. Absolutely stunning scenery can’t wait to get there again soon hopefully .
Could of dug the top soil off and put more hardcore down 😂
Last year I lived and worked in YHA Keswick. Such a great hostel in a great location.
Happy to report that "cumbria", the 1970s administrative dog's breakfast was abolished in 2023. It will soon disappear from maps as legally only admin areas can be shown. Ulverston is not in the Lake District, thankfully.
Bike price s to rent?
Great video,I'm 57 and come from Ceredigion but used to live near Amroth so i know the srea,I've recently walked most of the Ceredigion coastal path and plan to do as much of the Pembrokeshire one when I have a week off in March.I am truly Blessed to live in such a beautiful area 🙏🏻🥾🎒🏴
Absolutely brilliant 👏. Hats off to ya both. Looked very tough. I'm doing this in summer. So definitely helping with the planning. What was the camp site called that you stopped at after skiddaw House please?
Just discovered you and your really useful videos... already subscribed!! Excellent and informative mate.. super
Lovely ❤
❤
❤😂
Really enjoyed this episode of the Pembrokeshire coastal path as we were there a few years ago and visited many of the places that you highlighted. Strummed Head was a favourite as I cycled there from St David’s. Thanks for sharing.
As an endurance athlete and coach, we have a saying, “nothing new on race day.” If you haven’t tried it during training, don’t try it during the race. Seems like it might be applicable to long distance hiking as well. You have a fabulous attitude when things don’t work out though. Thanks for taking us along on your hikes!
Do this again but with your dad
Brilliant videos. Loved them all. Inspired me to plan my own coastal walk. Thanks.
😂❤
Do you take people with you interested if you fo tours x
Your dads smile would give me enough motivation to keep on moving on its own. Its so nice to see!
Really enjoyed watching this series. Now watching your past videos! Inspired by you and your dad, I’ve started making my own with my 15 year old daughter. Hope she continues to enjoy the hiking and wants to do some longer adventures in the summer! Thanks for the inspiration 🤩
