SUB ZERO temperatures hiking the West Highland Way during winter!
Hi everyone, the final episode of our winter west highland way hike saw us waking up in -10 degrees at the bridge of Orchy, the cold caused a few issues but the scenery again was insane especially over Glencoe, what an experience!
thanks so much for watching!
I will look to make a video on the full kit list I took for this journey, failing that ill come back and add it all on to this description!
much love Sam and Martyn (dad)

What a beautiful memory. Thanks for sharing.❤ USA
Loved watching the sun coming up. Beautiful.❤
I cannot wait for part 3! So enjoying your trek with Dad! ❤
Watching back through some of your older videos - love these of you on longer journeys. Keep up the good work, mate!
Beautiful hiking area. Thanks for sharing.❤
Brilliant! Your old man is a a real character. It reminds me of the times I hike with my son and son in law. It's just special.
That was brilliant. Your Dads a legend too :). Such a great thing to do with your old man, nice one :)
Keep the good work up proud of you both 🙏🌍👍
Hi Sam, would love a gear breakdown video 👍🏻
Fantastic videos loved watching you both yes to kit videos,
Great set of videos, stunning scenery.
Ahhh never felt more jeleous of someone in my life , i need to be here !!!!
Incredible video, thanks for that. I did the WHW in May and really loved it. Now I'm in Edinburgh in December and Scotland in wintertime is awesome. Maybe I will do the WHW in Winter like you. Thanks for the inspiration
Thank you for sharing your WHW-Winter-Adventure. Well done, haste ya back!
Well done,🥰
Amazing 👏 😊
You will wake up a good scotsman ❤
Sonar measurements have given over 55 meters deep in some spots. If it was only 6 meters it would overflow its banks, considering how wide it is upstream. Common sense
YOu both have great attitude which makes you great to watch.
Great trip lads.!!! Done the W.H.W with my son few years back...loads o great memories..special times.❤️💛💚
Is that campsite up the back of Brodies?
"So come on guys spend thousands of pounds on camping gear so you can sleep outside!" Absolute moron
Why do I feel like it can get me through the screen?😂
🔥🔥🔥👍⭐️❤️❤️
Great series Sam. Cracking views along the way. Your dad is a little power house! Fair play to him.
Loved watching your WHW journey. Looks fantastic x
Two brave souls indeed, well done guys, well beyond my capabilities sadly. Just out of curiosity though, what sort of weight are your packs for such a hike please?
Thanks ! Around 16-18kg with a few days food and water 🥾👍
@Samrculley Thanks 👍
@Samrculley now subscribed 👍
I thought the West Island Way was 30 miles. Is there an alternative route, or am I thinking of a different walk? Only asking as I would like to do it with my son after watching a few of tour videos.
your old mans an insperation to us older guys
Nice to see a great father and son hiking together, hope you manage to keep up with him one day,😂
😂Only recently found your channel, now the first I look for each day. Keep up the great filming and info,
Well done guys. I really enjoyed your series. Thanks for sharing it with us. ATB, David?
Ran in it 22hr 36mins
Really enjoying watching a whw in winter conditions...looks even more beautiful with the snow
Wonderful video of your winter journey. Would love to see a kit review, espeically of the air mat and the backpack. Liked and subscribed
Hi Buddy, I'm disabled but determined, can you tell me what app you used for the route planning, I'm hoping to plan to take wife and son with me in August. do you have any guidance or inspiration. WhitbyMillers.
Waterproofs? Here? In Scotland? 😮Now THAT'S unusual...😂😂. Glad you enjoyed being here guys, you're always welcome... 🏴👍
Remembers me of my family vaccation tripp around southern England back in 2010. the postcard is still hanging on my walls☺️
Lovely views at Loch Lomond there. An advantage to this time of the year will be a lack of the midgies biting at you. Nice vids. Subscribed.
Loved watching this adventure. Absolutely WELL DONE to both of you.
Fantastic , loved your videos of the WHW , especially in winter conditions , Well done to you both
Enjoyed that! I did a winter WHW for my 50th birthday, at the start of January 22. I got cold, dry conditions for the first half and then a lot of snow! It felt like a proper expedition! I wild camped the whole way and it is difficult keeping everything dry and yourself warm in those conditions. Thanks for the memories 😊
That was a good watch. Did it as an 18 year old with my 16 year old mate. In a basic tent, £21 quid Boots (shredded feet.) He had Doc Marten Air Wair hiking sole boots as comfy as slippers and a full length nylon cagoule which was a couple of quid. We scraped for soup at Inveroran, saw the grown-ups and families at Kings House as I put a carton of milk in the burn - which we had for breakfast. Next day all the way into FWilliam. Few quid left for a drink and chip supper. Bursting blisters in the High Street (hassled by some twisted local girl) before crashing out (with tent around us) on a roundabout/ grass near the Loch and bus station- just enough cash to get home. Edit: 1980s. Thanks for the clips.
Loved this video! Asked my friend to do this with me in the Spring. Did you do the route on OS Maps or on Strava? If so could you post it? 😅 Also please could you do a list of your kit? Thank you!
That's so cool 😊. Wish you all the best to both.
I would love to something like this but with my dog.
... Best of luck...
Proper camping ( dads oldschool tent lol ) Proper info.. proper tips. Great...
Hiked the way in in 82, way before it was popular!
Definitely would love a kit video!
