Just sharing my passion for Chainsaws of every brand, age, shape, & size. It's a big part of our heritage here in the Pacific Northwest. I also have a big love for Alaskan milling the large timber we have here. UA-cam IS the "new encyclopedia" in my eyes. My main goal to is share my experiences and in turn, hopefully some of them will help others out along the way. HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Husqvarna 3-series plastic intake clamp. Should have been a factory recall!
Переглядів 3,9 тис.2 роки тому
A lot of the 3-series Husqvarna saws that had this clamp, died an early death because of it. It should have been a factory recall in my eyes. There are a few different fixes for this issue. My choice is to use a factory 372xp x-torq or 390xp factory metal intake clamp in its place.
Newest addition to the family, 3120xp first start. It's bone stock....... for now.
Переглядів 8393 роки тому
Here's the build so far. It'll be getting an unlimited coil off a 272xp as well a a high speed jet added to the Walbro WG6 carburetor. Just waiting on parts to arrive. Once those two things are addressed, it'll go under the knife and get ported opeforum.com/threads/just-another-3120xp-build-but-its-my-first.25457/

Why is it called four stroking when its not actually doing that?
Wrong, i did the same to my 1989 mfg Husky 55, its definitely cutting faster now. Performance gained with zero dollars and a little bit of time is never a waste of time or effort.

Hello, thank you for this video. To answer your question: yes, for my part I would really like a video of checking the advance with a synchronization lamp. Thank you in advance, and congratulations I am a fan watching you from France. 👍💯🤜🤛🤝
I just picked up one of these saws from a friend and can’t find any great info on bar and chain compatibility. What do you have or could you share what info I need to use to find the right one? Right now the saw has a bow blade and chain on it
@chase2124 it should be set up for 3/8 pitch chain from the factory. The most readily available bar for them would be to run a Husqvarna large mount bar pattern on them. In an Oregon bar it is their D009 mount. The bar slot is just a touch big for the studs, but it works without issue & oils as it should. They sell adapters or sleeves for the studs if you want the bar to fit perfectly.
@chase2124 here's all the other info on the saw in case you need it. www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/e1cc14b1bea9c08288256bf800179a33
@chase2124 I don't have the saw anymore, but I believe the bar stud size is 5/16" diameter.
Thank you so much! I’ll look into these with the new knowledge
This is probably the best detailed instruction video ever, many thanks. I went on your video to resolve why my MS193T throttle linkage rod doesn't stay in the plastic hole in the trigger lock. This is the rod that's in the handle and it's the end facing the front of the saw, and the hole is in the midddle plastic piece of three. I watched you install the rod in this plastic hole that looked like a very lose fit just like mine. When I assemble the handle the rod falls out. What keeps the rod from falling out? I've hardlly used this saw, it's practically new.
one another method is screw the bolt on regular hole and put a nut on other side (closer to crankcase) then use air hammer and hit the head of the bolt other side ..
May your name be fondly remembered and your service never forgotten. Well done, sir. And thanks for making me look pretty apt;-)
Drink another beer.

Odd question, will cylinder and piston off of a 192 or 193 fit on the 194 crank assembly? I have both but 294 piston is ate up.
Sounds Nice now port and polish the intake and exhaust ports on the cylinder head on the next rebuild along with the exhaust mod. Does modifying the exhaust need carb tuning?
@TL50-r9f Anytime you open up the muffler, you definitely need to retune the carb.
What model saw full wrap did you use for the 260? I want to do that to mine, I climb with it and this would be money in the bank!!!
Is that a Custom Chip Deflector on the clutch cover?
Excellent video. I have a really nice 026 that I bought new over 20 years ago. Wonderful saw that never let me down until one day, several years ago, when I was working it hard on a big log. It suddenly stopped running and has no spark. Since I had other saws, I've put repairing it on the backburner until now. After watching your video, I feel confident enough to try to repair it myself. Thank you!
I don’t understand the negative comments. If people are too afraid to modify a muffler, then don’t, and by the way, why did you watch the video? He didn’t do anything to hurt the saw short or long term. If anything, this has the potential to improve the life of the saw because the heat can get out of the cylinder and it will not heat soak as much cut after cut, causing the piston to stay cooler and not expand in the bore… blah blah, it doesn’t matter, I’m not saving the world here by trying to educate curmudgeons. I regret even typing this. With proper tuning, this will help the saw. If you can’t figure out how to say something positive, then don’t. If you don’t know how to tune a chainsaw, watch one of the other 50 videos on UA-cam that go over it. If you don’t know the size of the muffler bolts, Google it, it’s widely available info. Man, I hope you get some better followers in your comments section. 🤢
Samish, thank you for making this video, it sounds great and seems like it picked up some speed and torque. Nice job being patient around that muffler seam coming apart and going back together, great tips. 🍻✊❤️
The muffler bolts can be removed with a 5mm Allen
Love this video Thank you
I love the 50 white top I hopping to find one
Very good video, my problem is I don't have a set screw. But I am certain I am seized on the shaft. Because I tried the pry bar method with no joy. I hope your technique works.
Very helpful
What was the symptom? A liquid leak or a running, starting, performance issue?
very nice video. I used this to help me with a tear down. AT 10:20 you remove the white plastic piece to remove the black plug to get to the screw. I am having a problem putting that back together. I cannot tell if that white piece goes over the flat part of the plug or lines up with it. It seems it should like up with it but I cannot get it to. I only wants to overlap the black plug and that does not seem right. I am trying to tell from your video if that is the case or not before your remove it but cannot quite tell.
Great job. Good information. Thanks

Where did you get the exhaust?
@@jayv4250 dgperformance.com/motorcycle-exhaust.php?pyID=2905
Do you sell these ??
Two stoke motors have a special design for a reason, dirt bikes for example if you dent that can on the exhaust it with affect the way the motor runs and can cause damage to it. Sounds beastly but I'm sure doing that will ruin your motor in a short period. Maybe drilling a hole or two in the baffle would be ok but still a risk I wouldn't take, unless I've done some work to the motor itself.
Thanks for this video 🍻
We had a few for our firewood biz.
Update on heat shrink. I've decided after another installation today that 3/4 is too large of a tubing. What would work best is to measure the largest portion of the shaft and use the next size larger available tubing. I've ordered 1/2 and 5/8.
Decent saw until the plastic handle breaks. Good call husqvarna. Cheap plastic junk, kinda like the dipshit that made the call to produce plastic parts. Rancher...... more like a weight for my dumpster by the shop. They need to make a real saw again
Super muffler mod ,i have the same sow ,y what make a muffler mod ,thankyou for video
Helped me today , 4 years after you made the video. Its exactly where Im stuck at. Now I can proceed. Thanks for being you!
also...the pump/cylinder operate on a slip-fit tolerance, maintained by the heavy viscosity of the bar oil. Through mis-use, it will lose that close fit, leaving one to buy a new pump for $20
GOTTA ASK YOU......@samishsawworks5870 Why on earth did you decide to file down the angled end of the pump cylinder? You could have easily reduced the material on the opposite straight end, which is a lot more accurate AND has less material.? OR....simply drill out the .0625 holes at the end of the pump cylinder? ( you can go up to .140 dia)
Thank really helps us thank you
Amigo vc acha qui apenas o escap mais aberto qui fes a difetença ? Ficou otima 🔥👏👏👏
Thanks for the video. I had an idea for installing the seals without damaging them. I used 3/4" clear heat shrink tubing and a heat gun. Lightly grease the shaft. Slide on the heat shrink and heat with a heat gun. It will shrink down to a tight fit. Grease the tubing and slide on the seal. Works very well. The same piece of tubing will work on the flywheel side also. Save the piece as it is reusable.
Thank you
