I have saws I’d rather run too! That’s a nice thing to do for your buddy! The world needs more people like you! The smile on his face says it all! He is stoked!! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Haha yeah he was pretty happy. This has needed to happen for a long time. Poor ol' saw needed to go to someone that'll show it the love it deserves, instead of sitting on the shelf. He was a perfect candidate.
Nice way to make a guys day! I rekon somebody put the bar on that saw and tightened it down without lining up the hole, so the adjuster was against the bar, pushed it straight through the case?
What a way to spend a day. Guttin firewood what a few mates! Any chance you recorded the brake down of the 032, that would also make a great video..even though you didn't get it running 😥
Yeah it was a good day. I didn't record it, but if you or someone else needs it, I'd be happy to do an 032 teardown&reassembly video(s) I got it running great, it just has that big hole in the oil tank. Tough break for the ol' girl.
I recently acquired a WB and a Super. Need to get them up and running. I don't think either one will replace my ported 026 as my truck saw, but I'm sure they will cut firewood for years to come.
Nice! I don't think the 026 and 028 are even in the same ball park. Like you said though, those 028's still put wood in the truck & will for many years! My ported 026 is one of my all time favorites.
Even at the same cc the 026 is just lighter and faster, and it's hard to make up that weight and RPM. Definitely more of a curiosity to get them up and going than anything, I have never ran one outside of at the shop back when I wrenched on saws for a living. Highly likely they will move on to new homes once they are done. Always been more of a Husky guy, but the 026 is one of my favorites. There were also 3 026's and an 024 in the same lot of saws, along with a whole bunch of other stuff I haven't ran before... 50 saws so far and I need to make another trip...
The sheer volume is a bit of a blessing and a curse. I was expecting "a dozen or two" saws in exchange for some repair work. Not 65 complete saws and what looks to be a truckload or two of parts... It's a good thing I built my saw shelf with plans on expanding it later, and I have an empty 12x14 storage building... LOL. Currently I have I think 120 saws in the shop. My Collection/builder inventory was manageable before. Now it's kind of nuts.
I just use black athletic tape. I didn't have it on this one yet, but I usually wrap a spiral of paracord around the handle first for some extra grip. I pull the individual cords out of the center and just use the casing, it lays a little flatter that way and isn't so obtrusive. With or without the paracord, I still find this tape holds up well and provides a non slip surface in the wet weather we have here in the PNW. www.amazon.com/Mueller-Black-Athletic-Tape-10yds/dp/B00JNWQJQU

It has always amazed me how some people can destroy a good piece of equipment. Good job on that gift. No one should suffer with a craftsman saw.
His old saw got the job done, but this one will do it while putting a smile on his face and probably last as long a he wants it to.
Nice running 028..
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
where can i purchase the rap for handle ??? it looks great !!

Bingo! 100%! Didn't even think of that. That makes a lot more sense! I'm sure that's exactly what happened. Good thinking!

@@82f100swb Sounds like you hit a honey hole of saws! Nice work!

Hey Ben, i wonder what material you use to wrap the handle?
