You need a "T - bolt" clamp. A regular worm style house clamp isn't strong enough or narrow enough. I use a clamp off a 372xp (Standard o.e. version, NON-Xtorq) or a clamp off a Stihl 034,036,038,etc. If you go to the 19:45 mark in this video I show how I do mine. ua-cam.com/video/15_IJPLC1Gc/v-deo.html
This was an issue on early 340-359 saws. They upgraded the part for metal clamp later in the production run.
That’s some great info buddy! OEM 372 metal clamps on all my old man husky’s! 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
You have any suggestions on what clamp to use? Will a regular hoes/pipe clamp work?

I personally like to trim those tabs off and use a 395xp boot clamp.
Yup!
Maybe use a little motor high temp silicone will improve situation
It would be better than not for sure. The problem is, there still is no clamping force. So I trim off the plastic clamp & install a metal clamp.
Nun are all that great
Junk rtv it on .
