In this video, Colin - Sales Manager here at Richard Lawson Pianos - takes you through all of the main features of Petrof’s smallest grand piano, the Bora. Handcrafted in the Czech Republic, and made with premium-quality European parts, it boasts a quality of sound which truly belies the instrument’s compact dimensions. Even though it is just 5’3” in length - which makes it an ideal size for domestic use - it has a very wide expressive range with a warm and rounded sound, which is so characteristic of the highest-quality European pianos, and that you can hear in Colin’s demonstrations of this beautiful instrument. And with an action built by Renner, it is also highly responsive, making the most challenging of passages incredibly easy to control. As an official Petrof dealer, we're proud to stock this extraordinary piano.

Hi, what's difference between Yamaha GA1 vs GB1? Thanks
Hi, what's difference between Yamaha GA1 vs GB1? Thanks
Your comparisons are fantastic, you should do more.
Claramente Shigeru Kawai es muy superior, un sonido melodioso, dulce y agradable al oído.
I like Bosendorfer but man that Kawai is gold!
Bosendorfer for me.
Oh my, that sounds awful. Was this recorded on a phone?
Very informative video. Thank you 😊
Classical pianist from the 🇺🇸 there is no comparison gentlemen there is nothing that beats a Yamaha. It has the better sound and they bought the rights to Steinway and Bosendoefer so they are next level now. The GB1 K also won’t break the bank about $13,000 usd
Very good review. Thank you.
Very nice and I am a classical pianist and teach at an advanced level let me break down the difference do you five Yamaha is about 15% more on price than the U3 . You are not getting a bigger piano both have the 52” height; same base. You get that middle pedal called Sostenuto pedal. It allows you to play a left-handed cord and play multiple notes on the right handed cord late giving extra layers of complexity however I’ll tell you the truth I only came across that maybe one of the compositions. I like the fact that I can my Las Vegas pianos guy is a licensed Yamaha dealer at the Yamaha US store they’re going for $16,000 but he’ll give it to Piano teachers for 13,600 and veterans . I have a $5000 piano so all I need to save is about $9000. 15 percent more is over 10,000 and you can get a used car. On the u5 it has a place for you to hang notes but some musicians find it odd and out of place. I say the U3 is the sweet-spot. To summarize, in conclusion, is worth it to pay for the upgrade to go from aYU3 vs a YU1 but it is not worth the 15 percent price jump to a Yu6, you are talking probably after taxes and shipping g about $20000 us
Not sure what happened to the Bösendorfer’s sound, relative to their other models. The recording here almost sounds like a partition or canvas screen was placed between the microphone and piano. Perhaps the extra spruce has reduced the vibrations so substantially, that all the medium to high frequencies have reduced db.
I think we know who won bosendorfer
Maybe on most important thing was not given enough focus. the sound quality? which is better? isnt' it true that Kawai is very synthetic?
Very nice.
An excellent demonstration and expplanation. Thank you.
Mx100
Valor ???
The best is clp 775 not 785
Please!…Why should I buy a clp745 after using the Yamaha Smart Pianist App and getting the CFX sound? I will buy a P45 and use the CFX sound from an iPad again. Am I right?..What changes after the sound comes from the iPad, please?
Nice
Both are wonderful pianos. The K7 is slightly out of tune, reason why it doesn't sound as good as the Bosendorfer in this case.
This is really a great and helpful video. I prefer 745 as it has much better and clearer sound. The only thing I am not sure about is the choice of color. Which color finish looks better in a real life? Satin black or rosewood? Thank you for your answer.
Glad you enjoyed the video! The choice of colour is really down to personal choice, and the Satin Black and Rosewood finishes are equally popular. The choice often comes down to the colours of the decor in the room in which the piano will be going.
Me encantó el video, creo que Kawai es mas resistente y duradero, pero a mí me gusta Yamaha más, yo tengo un GB1 K , saludos desde Mexico
These Yamaha pianos are usually demonstrated with Classical type music only. And would prefer some videos with using them for blues, pop, country, & basic rock. I don't play Classical music. And these pianos are always having a demo with Clasical or similar only. I'm not looking for a Classical only.... piano.
You should get a keyboard or something like that
@@fer_yt839terrible response.
You should be able to discern the tone of the instrument regardless of the genre being played. If they were playing rock I could still tell if I would enjoy it for my classical playing
Do you recommend trying a piano before buying it? Meaning it may be very difficult sometimes if you cannot travel far
Yes, it's generally recommended to play them before buying, since the same model can sound quite different when trying different examples.
The SK7 is stunning. But the Bösendorfer is masterpiece. Would such a piano like these fit in a 26' x 18' (and a height of 13-14') room?
That should work well, but it also partly depends on furnishings etc in the room. Feel free to contact us for more information on this.
Th SK7 has amazing clarity
What about YUS1 japan Yamaha upright vs U3 Yamaha??
Thank you for this video. Could you explain in laymen's terms why I should use a wireless Lan adapter on my NU1X? Thank you!
Bösendorfer wins for me. More balanced sound, more voice-like. The Shigeru seems to have a dominant bass and sounds very round, maybe bell-like and also very beautiful. Like the Bösendorfer recorded with U-like equalizer-settings. I would like to have both. Maybe would change my mind if I played them in person.
That's my favorite mazurka!
1979 u3
I want one lol. Probably out of my price range currently I am sure. For a small piano, the sound, tone is perfect. I thought it was Liszt. I can only dream of playing his music. I think you need hands like shovels to do his music any justice. I shall probably be cancelled for saying this but as a woman I feel as though I can lol. I don't feel he took the lady's hand span into account when he wrote his music shall we say lol. I really want one.
I' m not argung but Bosendorfer sounds more unnecessarily relaxed than Shigeru~ Regarding cost effectivity Shigeru sounds just great~:)
Wow! The difference is striking
Hello.. why n Yamaha site clp 735 has TipoGrandTouch™ keyboard: WOODEN keys (white only)
Hello. I am planning to buy a grand piano, but I am currently thinking about between the new Kawai gl-10 and ge-20 used. The status of the ge-20 is class a. The price difference between the two models is not significant either. Can you tell me the difference between the two models and which one should I buy? Thank you.
Which one did you get? I got the GL10
I got the ge-20..
Bosendorfer´s sound seems louder and deeper . But I really love the SK’s sound.
YAMAHA sounds better in this video. It sounds clearer and more precise.

What's the name of the first piece?
It's Schubert's Impromptu D.899, No.4.
Sir thanks so much review, how does this bora compare to the Model v?609451? 🙂
is the CA 79 suitable to prepare classical music piano diploma??
Thank you very much for your thorough explanation on the resonance sound of the strings when played in Aures digital mode. I think It's a breakthrough and a very important point for better improved digital piano sound !
Good to hear that you found the video so helpful!
He states that Bosendorfer is the oldest surviving premium piano maker in the world (from 1828), which is not true: that accolade goes to Sauter which started in 1819.
Correction Richard…the CLP 725 is the most compact in the 700 series I believe. Just wanted to make that clear because you said it was the 735 and 745 when there Is in fact a 725 model that’s even smaller.
Thanks for this. By the way, all shigeru kawais have the same long keystick length.
Big thanks for the video!!!!!
You're welcome - glad you enjoyed it!
