We let one of ours off on Hunstanton Beach (Norfolk) after we’d had him for about a year, he took off after some Gulls nearby then came back, 2mins later took off after the same…only didn’t stop! The only reason I knew he was ok were the flocks of birds rising up into the sky that I could see literally on the horizon!! So I set off on the long walk to attempt to retrieve him…10 minutes later he came back, still running with tail wagging mischievously…& very out of breath. He had a drink, ambled around for 5 minutes then set off again, only he didn’t go quite so far, & he was a good boy ever since (although sadly he passed away earlier this year aged only 10…but I smile every time I remember that incident!)❤😂😊

I have a couple of questions. At some point, I think I will get a greyhound. I have read that greyhounds are sight hounds, and they can spot a squirrel or small animal from a long distance. Were you concerned that she might spot a small animal and run after it as prey? Does she do well with very small dogs (doesn't view them as possible prey)? It was delightful seeing her run free. Her speed is amazing, and she looked so happy! You have a beautiful dog.
