House Hunting in Orlando, FL - What Would You Pick?
Переглядів 380Рік тому
We are on a house hunt for a new place in Orlando, FL! After looking at several places around town, we narrowed it down to 2 top contenders: 1. An old townhome that needs a ton of work, but is next to the Universal Studios, Disney World and all the other amusement parks, restaurants, etc. 2. A dream home in way better condition, but over budget, more suburban and slightly further (but close to ...

    I just got my first pair of skates. I haven’t used them yet, so I was wondering if I can store them with my guards on them? Also is it necessary to have soakers? Or can I just use a cloth to wipe them off and let them air out when I get home?

    • @VanillaTea87
      @VanillaTea87 12 днів тому

      Congrats on getting your first pair! If you don’t have soakers yet, you can still protect your skates by following these steps: Dry the Blades Thoroughly: Use a clean, soft cloth or towel to wipe down your blades and the bottoms of your boots right after you’re done skating. Air Dry Completely: Remove any hard guards and let your skates air dry in a well-ventilated area. Avoid storing them in your skate bag until they are fully dry. Alternative Blade Protection: If you’re worried about the blades getting nicked or scratched at home, you can wrap them loosely in a soft towel or cloth. This isn’t as ideal as soakers, but it works temporarily. Consider Getting Soakers Soon: Soakers are relatively inexpensive and provide extra convenience. They're worth getting because they offer better moisture absorption and blade protection. Until then, just be consistent with drying and careful with handling your skates. They'll be fine!

    But why is it EASIER?! The door is RIGHT THERE but the amount of times id slip on the dang threshold more than the ice! I started running and jumping onto the ice over the threshold just so i didn’t break my butt! Im too short to jump the boards but if im in the box i literally die trying to step down unless i jump on my toe picks.

    This is the first time i hear about the Edea showgirl model, am a beginner skater and i have the motvio model : ) 245 C standard and so far so good, it felt a little tight, the coach said it's normal for new skates to be a little tight am still unsure if i should stick with 245 or i should buy a bigger one about 250 maybe but i guess i'll see what happens as i continue my figure skate jorney 😊 am a little nervous though especially when am gonna learn jumps in the future and especially it's very important to get the correct skate size or else it would cause injury which that am also worried about 😅

    Depending on the size of the skates, some underseater bags, which count as a personal item, may be a possible option as well. Due to mine being a men’s 13, my skates just barely won’t fit in my underseater(I have an old Samsonite one I bought a few years back I often pair with my swim backpack, about 40-45L I believe), so I would say most children and women should be able to use an underseater as a skate bag, while men would have to try it and see.

    Thank you! I'm slowly starting to think it's time to upgrade. I've been skating for 8 months, in Jackson Artiste, and they're starting to form creases exactly where you guys showed, in the video. However I dont necessarily feel like my boots dont support me anymore; I'm doing waltz jump, salchow, toe loop and I just landed my first loop a few days ago (I also skate a minimum of 2 times a week, usually 4 times a week), and they feel fine on the landing. I have a bit of a hard time gripping the ice during jumps, but I don't know if that's just my skill level speaking, or if it's because of the small toe picks on the Mark IV blade. Whenever I need new boots (I think my Artistes definitely has a few months in them yet), I was thinking about getting the jackson Debut Fusion and the Coronation Ace blade. Does that sound reasonable?

    Thank you for saying this. Being an adult skater is constantly begging for scraps. I’ve been on and off the ice (because of this exact reason) for 14 years. I’m now 32 and I JUST this year met a coach like your Dimitri, and I still have to advocate for myself often with the club even still. I even pushed to be put on the kids testing track and to enter competitions just to ensure our club coaches notice and invest in me. Do you have any updates? Did you have any luck finding someone who was willing to challenge you?
