I absolutely love the last house. Owning a house is a life goal of mine, just cause you don't have to follow any rules and can customize everything about it and really make it your own. Also not having to deal with noisy and annoying neighbors is always a plus :)

Yep! Agreed on all points. These are something that’s super important to us, too.

Good luck with your move! For me, a detached house with no HOA would be the dream, & I love your second option. I grew up in the Oviedo area, and the 45-minute drive to Disney wasn't that big a deal for an excursion a few times a year.

I personally would try to stretch for the house with no HOA. It will fit you for this stage of life and a few future ones. :) Fingers crossed luck is on your side!

Can you keep looking? You might find a great townhome at the slightly higher budget. Flipped homes always seem to come with problems that were cheaply and inadequately dealt with

Unfortunately, we are super limited because we need to move within the small timeframe when we don’t travel (normally we travel for work almost every week).
I totally see your point though! We expect both places to have all sorts of issues. That’s pretty much a given with our budget… Just hoping it’s nothing too major 🤞🏻

@@brunoandfae Ah. We were in a similar position to you not long ago and picked the best that was on the market and went with it. Turned out well for us, albeit likely paid a bit more than we would have as didn't want to lose out for underbidding too much.
Hope you share the changes you make to which ever house you end up with!

Personally, independence is the highest good in life. On the one hand, I would pick the last house. Taking out a little loan for it is well worth it. Renovation & a neighbour next to your wall is tedious and usually not worth the stress/ noise/issues. Also renovating is costly & at the end of the day you never know what problems you gonna end up having with the worker or the workers are gonna end up having with your house. Or they don't do their job properly. Its always an investment into a fantasy but at the end of the day you never know what you gonna end up with at the end. On the other hand, if you plan on selling the house asap again, a more shitty house in a more desirable area is always a better choice.

We’re looking to stay there for a while. As in, we’re hoping to get an actual home for us to live in.
I totally agree, if it was an investment property, there would be no question at all!
Pretty sure the house is gonna have issues as well because it’s a flip, but with our limited budget issues are pretty much expected 😅
