I started woodworking to get on top of my mental health and it is absolutely working.
I like to make all kinds of stuff and I LOVE to repurpose all kinds of timber. The timber tells the story and sharing the story of the timber is something I enjoy doing.
I dont post very often but you will see all kinds of projects here as well as tool reviews, DIY stuff, garden stuff and even sometimes my motorbike stuff.
The majority of the timber i use is scraps, pallets, hard rubbish and whatever i can get my hands on.
Please subscribe and follow me as i share my woodworking journey with you.

I've been a 'full time maker of stuff' for the last couple of years and there has been lots of fun, loads of learning and more than a few hurdles. Late last year I had a huge setback in my workshop, then I got some crazy news about my crazy brain and I am looking at things a bit differently now. Over the years I have promised a lot and delivered a little. I'm sorry! I honestly appreciate everyo...
HOW TO change the disc on a cheap BENCH SANDER LINISHER Ryobi
Переглядів 6 тис.Рік тому
I've had this cheap Ryobi Bench Sander since 2017 when I won it as a prize, it's been a fantastic unit but I had never replaced the disc. I found the user manual and it said NOTHING about changing the disc. So I hit record and dived into it, this is the result. TL:DR; I strip the old original sanding disc and replace it with a new 'Hook & Loop' pad so I can now replace the sanding dic easy peas...
Worlds most AWESOME clamp rack #woodshop Clampazzo

Good news everyone! I made the worlds most ridiculous clamp rack! I'm a big fan of dad jokes and puns and I have had this idea brewing in my mind for many years so the pandemic/lockdown was the perfect opportunity to sink my teeth into it. From August 2021 to October 2021, I filmed and created this pop culture pun using what I had around me.... and towards the end I was trying random things fro...

I am a carpenter. I maintain a Central Victorian land parcel set aside for wildlife. Great video 🙂
Marri or messmate?
Messmate I reckon, with lots of water damage for those nice dark lines.
Nice mate. What jointer and planer are you using?
The machines were all Hammer, I was renting a maker space called The Creator Haven in Bayswater and they have some great equipment in there.
@@OzSawdustMakers oh nice mate.
Thanks. I tried your measurements and perfect. Cheers for your vid Rob
I love hearing that!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
(12 inches total length 7 1/2 inches bottom of board to center of hole 1 1/2 inch diameter hole)
Thanks Curtis
Great Work ,,, I reckon Mountain Ash
Thank you, you're probably right. There can be a lot of variation in Mountain Ash.
UPDATE: I used your specs EXACTLY - using Scots pine @ 90 mm wide + 45 mm thick. It's rock solid. Definitely the best tutorial for these on YT!
WOOHOOO Thanks so much for letting me know mate!
Already made some at 40 degrees. Now gonna use YOUR specs. Back later!
How did you go mate?
@@OzSawdustMakers Worked perfectly!!! Even holds a 1 litre bottle of Baileys easily. Tx.
@@fontybits That is awesome! Thanks so much for letting me know 👍🏼
quick question- why not use a 2*10 or 2*12? the quality of the board might be significantly better. thoughts?
You might be right, but for me it was about using the more common size that people are likely to get for free from pallets or home renovations. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Measure twice!
hahah YES!
Dream job brother 👍🏼👍🏼
It sure is mate!
Wow!🎉
💅
Im making one now, how has yours one held up? Being a softwood and all.
It has held up very well. I hope yours goes smoothly, send me some pics on FB or Insta when you are done mate, i'd love to share it.
Love your work!! What that cost ya mate?
I honestly can't remember sorry mate!
Yeah, thank you. It works👏👍
That's awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
Hello mate, nice video, loved it. A few years ago I acquired an old but similar machine, except it’s a floor model on a trolley. The disc is 255mm in diameter. There wasn’t stick-on Velcro discs nor compatible sanding discs of that size in South Africa. I used self adhesive Velcro strips on the metal disc, which worked fine. For the sanding discs I initially had to cut two half circles from loop backed sanding sheets that were 115 x 230mm, not ideal, the leading edge would tear after a while. Later on I was able to find full 230 x 280mm loop backed sheets from which I cut the right sized disks. This works like a charm and easy to change grits 80 right up to 220 although I usually use just 150 grit. BTW, I used acetone to get the old adhesive off. The manual is some generic poorly translated from the original Taiwanese mashup, virtually incomprehensible 😂. Consequently you have to wing it to change the belts.
Thanks for watching mate! It sounds like you had an ordeal on your hands with that big disc sander but it's good to hear you got there in the end. Cheers mate!
Great little kitchen ❤ 😂lol love the idea plug for new nail gun design why not
Wouldnt it be amazing if the tool companies made that happen!! 😄 Thanks for watching!
Youre australian...its a 90x45 not a 2x4
That is true, and I do refer to them as 90x45 in the video. But if I want people to view my video then it makes more sense to have 2x4 in the title. Thanks for watching.
@OzSawdustMakers no wuckas mate, I assumed so but I just hate their fucked up measurement system. Good video anyway
@@MrDeano-eu9rg hahahahah I couldnt agree more!!!
Super cute!!!
Thank you 😀
So good! Amazing eye for perfection… a pleasure to watch… well done!
Thank you so much 😀
Oh my God, this was exactly what i was looking for Simple and concise, with the use of the exact material I want to work with. This is a 10/10 from me👍🏿❤
That's awesome, thank you so much! I'm so glad I could help. Good luck with your build 👍🏼
@@OzSawdustMakers Blessed endeavors love🙂
The lumber at my local big box store is usually very wet. How important is it to let them fully dry out first?
It is CRITICAL that your timber is dry. If you think the timber will be really wet then I recommend you purchase a moisture meter and test them before you buy them.
Thanks for making this video ❤
You're welcome! Thanks for watching.
Looks awesome mate. Is the bottom formply shelf meant to be sat on? Love the valve handles - where did you source those?
Thanks mate, yeah its storage but we know full well that kids are going to sit on it and probably even stand on it which is why i used the heavy duty brackets underneath. The valve handles look great dont they! The customer sourced those, not sure where they got them from sorry.
We all go to places we don't want to be, but I'm glad your GPS is working again. it took me 10 months, so I'll wait, no hurry! Michael.
Wow! That’s really cool, good job!👍🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much 👍
Not only was it informative, but also entertaining!
Thank you!
Watched muted.mind numbing music.
Thanks for the feedback mate.
Thanks for showing the sticky do hickey for the 6 inch disc so I have now ordered one so I can change my worn out disc easily with a Velcro backed disc of different grades .
Glad I could help! 👍🏼
You need to raise the volume on your video.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks it relay works, I tried and tested it,, perfec t
Awesome! That's so great to hear, thanks for letting me know.
Beautiful!! Why pay 400$ for a counter top when you can do it yourself for 30$
Exactly!! DIY for the win!! Thanks for watching..
well done KC rocks
shake shake shake 😂😂
The best
Thank you!
Beautiful job man, great job.. What's the dimensions of the table top?
Thanks mate but I really cant remember 🤣It's probably 1.2m maybe 1.5m long and about 800mm wide.
Suoer easy explanation and thanks a million mate
Thanks very much ✌🏼
Late follow-up reply. Yes I would recommend cleaning the old glue off. Might leave “bumps” that will forever mess with future sanding jobs. PS I #finally got around to setting up my sander like this - been in the box for 2 (3?) years. And I #$@%$@# forgot to add the Velcro pad to the plate before I put the sanding disc on. So I have that to look forward to….. These are great but so cute and tiny compared to my school ones.
Thanks for commenting mate. They are a small unit but do a great job!
Great work. Wish I had some non hand tools to get this done
Thank you. Just use whatever you can get your hands on to get started.😊
Thanks man!!

EXCELLENT VIDEO Turned out so BEAUTIFUL
Thank you so much 😊
Wonderful job! Just wondering if the mineral oil was the only thing used for layering correct?
Thank you, yes mineral oil was the only finish used on this stool.
Omgggg! That thing about alternating the woodgrain? You just taught me something super important and totally explained what happened with the TV stand I built.... I made a C-shape stand from laminated 2x4s, which were supported by two iron pipes in the mouth of the C. I couldn't figure out why the top of the stand bowed and the bottom didn't (because the water content should have been the same... the entire stand was made from the same boards and dried in the same conditions). I just checked and the bottom shelf that didn't bow alternated grain patterns and the top one that did bow didn't alternate. No one ever told me about this. If only I had known that before, shoot. Thank you so much! I'm never going to make that mistake again, lolol
OMG thank you so much for sharing. I'm sorry to hear about your TV stand but it just goes to show that these small details can make such a huge difference.
If you drill a hole in a piece of wood and put the nail over it you won't get anywhere near as much damage, make sure the board is support both sides.
Thanks for your comment, that's a great idea. I was really just going for maximum destruction!! 😂😂
Is it bad that thing gave me a chubby? Wow i need to get one for pallets. :)
😂😂😂
Just grabbed one from a scrap yard. Seized motor bearings and a shredded belt. Otherwise looks to be in ok condition. The cutter head bearings seem to be in ok condition but will get replaced at the same time. It's a fairly quirky machine to disassemble and motor and cutter bearing s will basically have it pulled down to the last nut and bolt. The motor housing is almost entirely plastic with the exception of the end cap and a sleeve cast into the other end to take the bearing. I'm keen to see how the machine runs and try a spiral head thicknesser for the first time.
Sounds like you scored a great project, how has it worked out for you?
7:42 "Non toxic exterior paint."..... 8:00 "Don't get it inside the box because it's toxic."
Yeah that's a fair comment. I'm assuming that not everyone is going to use the best paint on the outside, which is why it's best to just leave the inside plain. Thanks for watching and commenting ✌🏼
