Channel dedicated for all things Valheim. I do not play many games, but once I find one I like - it stays with me for a long time. Valheim is such a game.
Valheim: Blood Ranger (Dance of Death)
2 stamina 1 eitr foods, robes and hood of Embla, Fenris leggings. Probably not the most practical build, but fun to play with. Since blood weapon damage increases some amount of percent - it's very much "the more damage you do the more damage you do" kind of affair. Hence blood weapons are in a way more sensitive to your weapon skill level than other types. On this particular character relevant skills are high 30'ies - low 40'ies, so far from reaching full potential.

I was doing a new playthrough and after beating Moder got a little bit bored, so decided to just collect the black cores and go straight to the ashlands. Also I was watching live streams of @Nezerette where he did a no boss ashlands run which inspired me somewhat. It was a pure display of someone suffering for many hours. Have an utmost respect for the man for what he did. He went with full fen...

Nice build, and good idea. But if you dont use a shield, why not going for the beserkir axes? Faster attacks and greater mobility because of the heavy attack...
Because I already use blood berserkir axes on another character :) Otherwise - yes, could work for this build.
This is a total nightmare, you are so skillful to survive in Ashland.
you left a little stone on the ground. =p
Intense.. 👍
Man this is awesome! Would you be willing to share the world file?
Sure thing: drive.google.com/file/d/1UnC8ZA21R1uiJAoj5VTDR_wulHHm11rW/view?usp=sharing
@@lifeinvalheim thank you!!
Really does a great job of demonstrating that individually, none of the mobs in the ashlands are hard to deal with... it's just that you have to deal with six or seven types of enemies and all their special attacks and abilities, all at the same time. But this does mean that forward progress in the ashlands is slow and annoying for solo players, so I'm glad the devs are damping it down just a bit.
While I do enjoy a good intense fight and at this point - can handle it, I agree. Having a fight like the one in this video once in the while can be fun. But the way things are right now such a fight is something you have to do every step of your way in ashlands. And that just becomes tedious even if you spent enough time in the game for it not to feel very difficult.
I mean, that spirit damage be thumpin! Nice! I like the build
Beautiful builds man the interiors were just outstanding. I really like the idea of having a world for all of your characters to meet up and just drink mead together in the hall. It adds story to the world and that’s what I love about this game is there’s just so much creativity. I am hoping to build something similar in my world once I gather enough resources. Keep it up
Dundr with that knock back is sooo good for managing ashlands mobs! Idk how to play without magic in ashlands! Managing stamina to run and attack is maniacal!
You parry anything it takes more damage...... like what? Dumb... try a knife. They one shot most ashlands creatures with a parry.
It really is a painful experience 😂. I briefly tried out the Silver Sword, but I wasnt impressed with the damage output, but maybe I should’ve stuck with it for longer! But I’m a fenris set enjoyer through and through, nothing you say can make me take it off!
ashlands, i think so hard for solo players :(
such beauty! my characters are only allowed to live exclusively in the most hellish of situations.
The most amazing part of this video is the dock. I've built docks for longships and they were hell to finish the roofs on because of structural integrity. Must have been a bit of a nightmare at first trying to accomplish this.
Those towers/pillars framing the stairways down to the dock are filled with dirt inside, which effectively rises the ground level. From there on just diagonal wood-iron beams supporting the arches. Rising ground to the max and hiding that with building around it is probably cheapest and most effective way to add more height to your buildings.
I did it without killing any boss, to get the cores and silver ingots, very fun xd (google traductor)
So this is more of a shotgun than the actual shotgun?
It works at longer ranges too, just it's easier to direct hit up close. And stacking hist is the key with this one.
how did you get to Ashlands without the new ship?
anyway.. well done 👍nice video
Sailed with the longship to the first rocks and swam rock to rock. It actually was easier than I thought it would be. The most annoying bit is just before reaching the land when it is just bit too far to swim directly to shore, but close enough that so that the waves are gone which makes it much harder to get on the ridges.
What difficulty modifier is on this, it all seems so easy
It's normal mode. No modifiers.
Its called root harnesk, 3x less dmg even in ashlands
Bubble life best life
What a great idea and awesome builds!
Beloved slow bonk of glory. Still viable...
S tier Valheim content.
I love it. the emotionles brag of greatness. the soulless talk of architecture. thats how the dead vikings dream of valhalla!
Just WOAW.
because the staff shoots 9 separate projectiles, the damage is calculated as 9 separate parts. therefore, sneak attacks and parry bonuses get the benefit of having 9x the chance of landing higher damage scores. i think that is why sneak attacks can do much more variable dmg. sometimes you get high rolls on 5/9 parts (big hit) and then only 2/9 parts (disappointing hit). but overall, each part is much weaker in dmg compared to staff of embers - 1 big one. however, the 9 parts each stack fire dmg, so you get, maybe, 9x the lingering fire dmg if you land a direct hit. overall its much weaker than staff of Embers on base dmg. but easy to hit targets take way more burn dmg over time. that's my take on it.
I really enjoy your videos ! Planning on doing an assassin character and building something for him too?
I do have a sort of an assassin character (fenris + knives). Although at this point he is more like a thief than an assassin. In his original world he lives in the hole under a rock somewhere. I'd like to bring him into this shared world, but haven't figured out yet how exactly I want to do that.
If you like, we can team up
Oh that could be fun :)
I also play valheim. I played solo from 3 weeks ago, just made it to the ashlands. I also stream livestream through out the whole time. I was shaking like a 12 year old school girl 😂😂😂😅
Nice video
Honestly impressed since it is a mountains biome tier weapon. The two handed sword with the new update sucks.
How did you clear/destroy the Fortress Spike to make way for the stairs at 8:14?
Spikes are destructible with any weapon, just need to hit them long enough. I think blunt damage works best. There's quite a few parts of the fortress that are destructible using regular damage, only gates and walls require battering ram or catapult.
@@lifeinvalheim I remember using a pickaxe for 10 mins or so and losing my sanity and giving up lmao.
@@11nith Yeah, pickaxe takes forever - try a mace or the demolisher :)
Love the axes!
i use tower shield with Klossen, and its an amazing combo
You're the wall respect if only more people could learn to love that parry is amazing but hey its not for everyone having one these players in your hunting party btw is a god send keep it up the good work man!
Parrying is great but there’s still situations where tower shield is preferable. Like when there’s so many enemies you can’t afford to lower your guard to parry. When you don’t have enough breathing room to capitalize on a parried enemy. When you’re first entering a biome and haven’t seen the enemy attack animations yet. Blocking also uses less stamina than parrying, which isn’t a big deal but is something to consider.
Playing on very hard. In comparison to magic melee weapons/shields/bow/arbalest seems to be unplayable at all. Maybe I'm wrong, but don't think so
Magic definitely is significantly stronger. As a melee enjoyer it pains me. With magic you not only get high damage, but range, mobility, and versatility as well. Comparatively, melee gets no range, low mobility in most cases, low versatility, AND low damage output because of how much time you spend dodging and blocking.
High block armor - can't parry: good to handle multiple enemies at once just by hold down right mouse button. Low stamina usage so your blocking will be broken less (broken by stamina shortage). Knocks enemies back after blocking gives you more room for breathing. All those stats proved the worth of this shield in the Ashlands, where you can suddenly gets overwhelmed by a horde of multiple enemies at once. Though, i still favour the carapace buckler from mistlands, it's just too good at blocking and parrying, the parrying of this shield is even better than the flametal shield. The flametal tower shield is strong but it's too slow, doesn't fits my speedy playstyle. It can be better if you are playing in a team, where one person holds this shield to tank incoming damage and the others deal damage.
Blocking is not only broken by stamina shortage. There's also a vertical "stagger meter" in the centre when you block - if it fills up all the way, your block is broken and you are staggered. Need to watch for that. Size of it is determined by your max health. So your max health also plays into your blocking game. And yes - tower shields are not for everyone, I also like more speedy play. But not everyone needs to be a ninja :)
@@lifeinvalheimYeah, i know stagger comes mainly from that stagger bar cuz i did tons of research about it. I just want to notice the case that blocking can be broken by stamina shortage because i'm describing the stamina aspect of the tower shield, that's why i put "broken by stamina shortage" inside a pair of parenthesis. Parrying sometimes can be annoying cuz they requires large amount of stamina to perform, do it with 6-10 stamina can fully fill that stagger bar when receive a single attack that normally can't stagger you 😂
It looks very potent. Since when enemy have very fast parry recovery time and faint attacks in Ashlands, parry become both less attractive and risky.
Yes, actually it became so that it works better to parry with magic staffs - you can riposte from the distance. Also dual axes as those have a very fast first attack. This new tower shield is interesting as it gives you just 10% movement penalty unlike almost all the others with 20%. And it makes fighting fairly easy - just hold your block, watch your positioning and for opportunities to strike. Can survive some really crazy situations this way.
That magic tower is cool
Thanks, it's one of the results of my effort to bring all my characters to a single post-ashlands generation world. Do build a lot recently. Probably will do some video about it once complete.
whats that 2nd food there?
Sizzling berry broth - one of the new cheaper eitr foods. So, two eitr one health.
@@lifeinvalheim ty, ily
I did not reach ashlands yet and now i am scared to go. I am just getting to mistland. That is a lot of scary bad guys.
Don't worry, you will love it :) Eventually...
If it has three times more damage cold be usefull
Not sure about 3x, but essentially I agree. Given how tricky it can be to load in more intense fight and the fact that it is only effective at close range - should hit harder, imho. It is also not cheap to make.
Your survival instincts in Valheim are amazing. I would've been cooked within 5 minutes after the fallen valkyrie appeared.
once you get the hang of enemies animations it becomes easy only thing with valkyrie is that half of your dmg doesnt connect cause she is above you
use ice wand to kill trolls very ez
i wanna try 3 healthfoods with askset and the blood stone and lingering stamina mead, gotta be a glass cannon build. Paired with a mages protective bubble you'll be a force to be reckoned with forsure
Interesting, do try it :) Although I am not entirely sure how blood weapons work: is it 0.2% damage increase per 1% of your health missing or it's per point. Former would mean that it doesn't matter how much health you have - max damage increase is up to 20% and the latter would be a little crazy. I did not do any scientific type of testing so don't know for a fact, but my feeling is that it must be percentage based.
Im about to try this, but 2 health foods, 1 etir, and a mage bubble staff to create the low hp situation myself.
@@lifeinvalheim I havent tested the numbers but its supposed to be per .2% per missing point of health; at least according to the wikki.
@@themorganrobertson I do have some characters using blood weapons - both: low max health, using bubble and high max health, melee only. Doesn't feel to me like it's point based, but I might be wrong.
i'm running the same build! but i'm still in the early stage of ashlands :/
needs one hearth behind the throne for backlighting (but the hall is still epic)
Behind the throne there are stairs down to the catacombs ;) I'll experiment with lighting, thanks.
What level is you blood magic? Also whats your opinion on the Brutal Slayer? Ive been running it with my melee/tank build and i like it soo far
Blood magic is not that high - low thirties. I think blood weapons are cool :) They might not have the utility of other types, but are interesting in their own way.
You castle is wicked! Really nice looking building.
Brow, it's really nice how you showed HOW OVERPOWER this new two handed sword is. Everybody just talks and talks "magic is op", "magic is op", "magic is op". But NO ONE talks about how OP Sword combat is cuz no one has the skills. I personally luv sword combat and it simply works perfectly with ANY type of enemy as we get these 2-handed swords. I'm in luv with Krom (the Mistlands first introduced warrior sword) and now I'm in love with Brutal Slayer. Congrats for your videos. U got a new subscriber. =)
I love this build, the high mobility and massive damage make this a great choice for bringing "lighter" builds. If you main ultra greatswords in souls games you'll feel right at home here. Don't need no stinking 60+ flamemetal bars to have a good time. A root ripper would be a nifty alternative but chain lightning is way too good.
