    I live in Swindon and we're allowed to ride in most bus lanes here (if not all; I can't recall one disallowing motorcycles but I don't know every area). Is it OK to cross the solid white line to enter a bus lane when I'm allowed to use it? I see your students do it at 12:30 mark. I couldn't find any restrictions on that in the Highway Code, but maybe I just suck at searching :D

    I am 5’3 with a 28”inseam. I am used to putting my left foot down when coming to a stop then I will put my right foot down afterwards. I use both brakes and taper off the front when coming to a stop. I finish with more pressure on the rear brake. I really need to practice both feet down and get to know my front brake better. I have gotten into trouble when the left side of the road is lower. Not fun! 😊

      In what sense? During lessons students sometimes have to stop on double yellows if split up from the instructor as there is nowhere else to stop, so it's important that they are aware they shouldn't do this on test, unless given permission to do so.

    So when u say pull the clutch in are you “ coasting” or are you remaining in friction zone? Sorry if this is silly question 😅

    • @motorcyclelessonsuk
      @motorcyclelessonsuk 4 дні тому

      If this is for the u turn, it's 6mph, clutch totally in, then gently find the beginning of the bite point if you need to, to finish the end of the turn. The 6mph gives enough momentum to carry the bike through the start of the turn, pulling in the clutch helps it to drop in and stops overrunning (going wide), being ready to use a little of the bite point to finish helps to bring the bike into the end of the turn. Sometimes this last bit of power is not needed and you have to be careful not to give it to much and run wide. Thanks 😊

    Nice review, I've just upgraded from a CB300R to CB500 HORNET, which is the same as the CB500F. You comment on how light the clutch is on these bikes and it is. However, compared to the CB300R, I'm finding the gearbox a bit clunky, especially going into first and from 2 and 3rd. You don't mention this?

    • @motorcyclelessonsuk
      @motorcyclelessonsuk 7 днів тому

      @@ronlysons6750 hi, it will only be clunky if you're putting it into first gear at the wrong speeds. It's highly likely that you're putting it down into first gear at too high speeds. Anything under about 8mph for first gear, otherwise you will hear a big "clunk" or " "bang". There is not problem with the bike, this is usually caused by user error. No offence intended 😉

    • @ronlysons6750
      @ronlysons6750 7 днів тому

      @@motorcyclelessonsuk Thank you for your prompt reply, I only put it into 1st when the bike has stopped. If the bike is moving I just slip the clutch in 2nd gear if I need to. My only other experience with a motorcycle gearbox was my CB300R, that was really smooth and light. So maybe it's just me, maybe some are clunky, some are not. Lovely bike though, just has easy to ride as the CB300R, but the rider experience is much better.

Side note: yeah massive difference from 4s to parallels…i can be in 2nd at 40mph and still in eco on versys 650 (they are known to like revs) but at the same time i agree that being in a higher gear alleviates the choppiness starting to love ur vids
