  • Examples of pushy vehicles: by keeping your eyes open, looking for clues that vehicles may move over on you, and by placing your motorcycle in the safest position, you can keep yourself safe around other pushy vehicles.
    Use your observation skills to know what is happening around you with good mirror checks and lifesavers where needed. Use this information to position your motorbike in the safest location in your lane, whilst looking for further clues that the vehicles around you may be about to change lanes, or move across on you.
    Thanks for watching. Please comment, like subscribe & share.
    See you soon,

    Ahh that second clip gives me flashbacks to the accident that wrote off my first bike middle of last year. Some folks really think they can just pull out over 3 lanes without looking and it will be fine.
    Take care out there everyone :)

    Lets be clear, half the battle is looking out for motorists who don't know how to drive! We are left bewildered how they got behind the wheel of a vehicle when they should be allowed to drive nothing more adventurous than a shopping trolley! :P

      😂 I often say something similar about tailgaters... If you wouldn't usually chase me from behind with your shopping trolley, why are you doing it in the car?
      Thanks for the comment & for making me smile 😊

      Unfortunately people aren't much better when in control of a shopping trolley either.
      I was stood in the short self-service queue a while ago and the person joining the queue behind me rear ended me with their trolley 😕 Weren't pleased when I turned around and said "I hope you didn't drive to get here! 🤦"

    'Remember you're not in a car' is what one of my instructors said to me one day after a simlar incident. That really made me think. Since you're the one that ALWAYS loses in a collision you have to be extra vigilant, keep out of their, way and let them head off to the scene of their next accident....

    Good Evening Leanna, every days a learning day 😄
    I have taught myself that anyone on the road is a new driver/rider and new in town, it helps me keep my head and just be prepared for the unexpected that I'm already expecting.
    I just think some car drivers just don't like us motorbike folk because we are cool 😂😂😂

    Hi Leanna. Do you have a video (or could you make one) on how to deal with getting stranded in the wrong lane of a complex roundabout and having to correct this whilst negotiating the roundabout? All of the DVSA publications (rightly) assume that, with planning and anticipation, you will always enter the roundabout in the correct lane, but in real life (and potentially on test in an unfamiliar area as happened to me), it is possible that the incorrect entry lane is selected for whatever reason. It would be great to hear and see your advice. Thanks for your work - it's massively helpful.

    I have a question if you don't mind.
    Today, I was on the A6 leaving Manchester. A slip road on my left becomes the new leftmost lane. I was doing the speed limit (40mph), and needed to get to the left lane to take the next exit. However, there are two cars on my left going the same speed as me.
    Overtaking would take me over the speed limit, which would be a fail. If I slow down to let them pass and then change lane, I'm causing them to undertake, so also a fail, right? If I indicate to the left, and they slow down to let me in, I've caused them to change speed (or direction), which is also a fail I think.
    Is this right? What should I do for the test?

    • @motorcyclelessonsuk
      @motorcyclelessonsuk  2 місяці тому +1

      Great question. In an ideal world we would see the slip road approaching (through reading signs etc) & anticipate this situation arising. Then you can plan your speed & positioning & lane change appropriately as the vehicles come into sight. Personally, if I was stuck as you were, I would ease off, without indicating and then when it was safe, indicate & move in. Causing them to pass you on the left by doing this wouldn't be a fail. Definitely wouldn't speed to overtake. Thanks for the interesting question 😊

    Its soo hard not to get angry, ppl honestly cant drive. If car drivers where to redo their test, they would fail todays modern standards which is great cause less numpties on the road.

    • @motorcyclelessonsuk
      @motorcyclelessonsuk  5 місяців тому

      This happens quite often, it just shows the lack of awareness and ability of some drivers. We just have to accept it and be super focused. In my experience anger breeds anger, so I don't really see the point 🤷‍♀️

      A1 is only completed on a 125cc.
      A2 gives the restricted licence, usually completed by 19-23 year olds (legally they cannot ride an unrestricted bike)
      A is an unrestricted licence for those aged 24 and above.
      The costs depend on your ability and the training route you choose to take.
      Don't forget you need your motorcycle theory test before you can take any of the practical tests.
      Thanks 😊
