A Bigger, Better, Redder Earth
Переглядів 83 тис.Місяць тому
Earth seems like the perfect place for life, and so far it's the only place in the Universe where we know life exists. But could there be places that are better for life? Studies of planetary physics seem to suggest there could be. Sorry, Space Is Just Too Big And Scary

Space, the final frontier... With what we currently know about the Universe and the physics that make existence, it might just be a too big of a challenge to do deep space exploration in a meaningful way. Even if we did find alien life on a distant exoplanet, it seems that the laws of physics, and mainly the speed of light and causality, get in the way of getting anywhere far in a practical way...

but arent plants green precisely because green is the colour they don't eat, its the waste light we see, they ate all the red.
I watched this video with interest and can say that I followed every word of it. Over a million people have viewed this upload and i wonder how many people, even university-trained professionals, can make that claim. It should also be noted that while I followed very word I didn't understand a single one of them.
Particles 🤣
I don't think scales became teeth, that makes absolutely no sense since scales are a dermal covering, & teeth are an oral feature. Wouldn't scales becoming fur/hair, pycnofibers, & feathers make more sense? Since, you know, that's what actually happened? 🧐
@@xeschire706 where do you propose teeth came from? They're not exactly bones in case you're wondering.
Why do people believe these probes are still transmitting anything? Is it out of the realm of possibility that a meteorite could have taken one or both of these out?
TY for your presentation. Concise, substantive, inclusive and well organized. Those attributes allowed me to simply engage and make connections. ☃️🎯💜
I just discovered your channel, and I'm loving it! So it's mid December 2024, so given the time of year, You..."Also you'd have to walk on water ". Jesus..."Hold my beer ". Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone, and pray for peace!
Bigger planets introduce a whole lot of new variables though - increased gravity, a thicker atmosphere doesn't necessarily mean better - it would block out a great deal more radiation, but it would also trap in a great deal more heat. The Earth is finely tuned for life, and we dance to the beat of that tune, if you change the tempo those dancing are gonna feel that over time, or drop dead from too much stress
The financial uncertainty principle: If I know the amount I can pay I’m never sure when. If I know when I can pay I’m never sure how much…
One mistake you made in this video is that our sun is too small to go Nova, although when it goes into its red giant phase it'll eat us.
Thanks so much World Peace
The colder place in the solar system is the Sun nucleus... The center point in Our space...
Hello, I’m sorry and mean no disrespect to correct something inaccurate and/or misleading in this amazing video. The map of the city shown in the background to give an idea of the size of a neutron star is actually Montreal and not New York.
I really enjoy your talks. Thank you for sharing.
I thought the big issue with Jupiter is that we thought it had a solid core, but after more recent scanns, it seems inconsistent, and it changed the likelyhood of it being a small brown dwarf
If we ran an electrical current through a big (as in, huge) superconductor that spanned the face of the planet, all running on as close to absolute zero as possible, would it be possible to generate a magnetic field larger than the one Earth's core naturally generates? Taken to the extreme, slowly push all the harmful radiation away from Earth in a complete spherical scope, eventually freeing our entire solar system (and shielding it) of all harmful radiation. We'd be free to explore every object within without fear of cooking.
you could always blow on it
Aliens > Arrive Aliens > Look to what humans are doing in their laboratories Aliens > "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?"
I’d imagine that the trees would be wider, ground animals would be smaller, fish-equivalents and the inevitable crabs would be enormous due to the crushing ocean pressure (and the seafloors might even have exotic ices and supercritical CO2 lakes), and flying animals would need enormous wingspans to both counteract the gravity and utilize the thicker atmosphere to produce lift. And if a civilization were to evolve on such a planet, life would be quite lonely as cultures would be more isolated with even more divergent languages, and there would be entire countries with population densities comparable to that of Wyoming- and airplanes would have been invented much later, since dirigibles would easily rise above the atmosphere’s soupy lower layers. (Diamonds would also be worthless to them, the planet’s crust would have entire layers full of them) Also, large meteor impacts would be a lot less apocalyptic since the fallout wouldn’t get as far with the gravity hoovering it up- and not only that, but there would be more large moons to intercept or fling them, and a stronger roche limit to disintegrate them before they even hit the atmosphere.
I'm fascinated that things can heat up to a billion degrees but can't cool below a paltry -273. If temperature is activity by another name, then we are barely moving.
0:28 - Anita Sarkeesian suddenly grew a brain. Impressive.
I think its interesting that something really HOT and something really COLD, can both BURN us.
Lazyass red plants ruining things for everyone
Un livre de mythologie est placé de manière à le voir. Pourquoi ? J'attends votre réponse. Condensat de Bose-Einstein - ok - on s'en fou.
Green plants are superior for Earth. Weird thing to say that evolution just happened to get that wrong.
The incertitude principe isn't the problem here but the fact that the particle isn't located anywhere in reality
Just found your channel. Excellent content. Sabine Hossenfelder has a serious competitor.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you! I am wondering why forming stars flatten into a disc. I keep hearing that but why would they not be a ball? What makes them flatten? Thx again. 😊
@@johnsonater8491 oh, the stars themselves shape into balls, it's the material around them that flattens into a disc and later forms planets. Sorry if that was unclear!
❤❤❤❤❤
BRILLIANT. Thank You...
Don't physicist speculate, that Bose-Einstein condensate exists in Gravastars?

Does space and time expand at those Low temperatures? Like ice expands?

Have we reached solar maximum yet (December 2024)?
No matter, no ”exotic” particles, no electrons, neutrons or protons, just portions of space pulsating at various frequencies, and with different timbers, which interact with our own biology, making it look like matter exist. ”Matter” is only OUR limited perception of vibrational fields. Matter manifests itself along with shapes, textures and colors in the lower range of frequencies. What is considered solid matter would be some gas in a different paradigm where we would be receptive to higher frequencies, and it would turn to just light if we belonged to the fastest vibrating organic lifeform possible. It’s only through our human sensors that we can experience what is actually material existence. Those sensors are flawed right from’the start when it comes to describe reality. Different biological vibrational rates would make us perceive reality in a totally different way.
Bilogical vibrations, what have u smoked. This makes no sence
@@asdadasdasdasas3590 Perhaps it makes no sense to you now. But it’s how it works anyways. Any living cell has its own frequency, which its health and survival totally depend on, just as any proton, electron, neutron and exotic particles do. The frequency determines wether the ”particle” will exist, or not, and which kind of ”particle” it will be (the whole Mendeleev chart is concerned, as well as all the particles that we still have to make/discover) . Matter manifests itself through acoustic waves (hence the quote ”at the beginning was the Word”, aka sound). This is called cymatics and this is the most advanced concept in modern physics to date (they also call it quantum physics, when in fact, we are talking frequencies and energy creating matter (which has nothing ”material” to it, rather density coming from electro-magnetic bounds).Long story short, the entire Universe is bathed in a ”soup” of frequencies which range in a fractal way throughout the frequency spektrum according to very precise laws of proportion (harmonics). You can look at it like the air around you (the ether) is filled at any given time with those frequencies which produce 3D cymatics resonance patterns looking like very intricate mandalas. The most tiny portion of this resonance figure contains the information of the whole structure, just like holograms do. That’s where the concept of Akashic library (or memory) comes from. That’s also the meaning behind ”God is everywhere”, or ”we all are ONE”. This is also where sacred geometry and esoteric signs come from (they have an actual, yet very subtle influence on this frequency soup). Each ”line” or crossing you can ”see” in this huge 3D universal mandala pattern is in fact a region of high or low pressure zone in the ether. Those high and low energy zones act like ”glue” and they influence where the highest density zones will be, where energy will materialize into dense matter (massa equals Energy divided by C squared, the ”energy” being the universal acoustic field, what they falsely attribute to the so-called Big Bang, as a remnant of it). These are omnipresent sinusoïdal acoustic pressure waves (you have to look at cymatics experiments first if you want to see this concept in action). That is how matter, shapes and colors are created from sound only, since the pressure waves act like a structuring force (nodes and antinodes which turn energy into ”solid” objects). The difficult part is to understand that frequencies range from picoscopic levels to the biggest and longest wavelenghts, free from the limitations of the Planck boundary (which only concerns ”matter”, once those energy fields merge into something denser). Yet, they expand following the same general pattern. That is why even the most exotic and tiny particles, down to the largest structures imaginable look so similar and are all the result of acoustic waves, structuring energy into what we see. Look at any flower, cabbage, horn, river branches, shells, brains, lungs, trees, galaxies, veins etc, ... They all follows the same laws, they grow following the same structuring force lines (Fibonnacci and Da Vinci discovered it, but they failed to understand the actual reasons behind it). Not sure if I make myself clearer, I’m not English. Don’t hesitate to ask if needed. Btw, I’m a researcher, I’m addict to vibratory physics, not weed. Thank you. Remember Tesla’s mysterious quote: ” If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of frequencies, energy and vibrations”. I’m not saying it, he did. Now you know why. THAT is actually what he had in mind.😉 I wish you all the best in your discovery journey. Also Happy new year and Christmas eve for you and your loved ones. On another topic, did you know how ancient Natives made the rain fall? It all comes down to cloud seeding, using a big fire to create an ascendant air column, make dust from the danse of all the ppl rise in the air, and making loud drums hits to create disruptive acoustic waves to ”crack” the clouds above. Nothing ”magic” in this world, only things that we ignore...
@@asdadasdasdasas3590 Perhaps a much simpler way to describe this: Do you remember when we were kids, there was those children magazines with drawings to complete. Some of those were simply scattered numbers on a page, that we had to link together following the logical numeral order, which at the end revealed some animal or landscape ? Now look at a mandala, which is the actual physical representation of the highs and lows on a sinusoïdal expanding acoustic wave of a given frequency. This is how sound expands, creating low and high pressure zones on its spherical way outwards. You could consider every intersection on that 3D structure like one of those points we had in those books. These are the points when the energy is the most dense, and where it creates bonds that act like glue, literally turning raw energy into solid matter. Imagine all the different 2d and 3d shapes you could come up with, linking all those points together. There you have your particles, then atoms, and the cells they form, all the plants and living forms. The possibilities are endless. And remember we are talking about just ONE precise frequency here. There is an infinity of those, though not all seem to resonate into structured and regular shapes like mandalas. The book is our reality, and God (or Consciousness, or the Big Computer, for what it’s worth) is the kid making the drawing in the book, using sound (the Word) instead of a crayon, to produce all the necessary fined tuned frequencies as to make reality what it is. I hope the concept was easier to grasp with this simple analogy. There is something huge with this. It’s nothing short of Divine.
Counter Intuitive sounds Bohring ya'll
Quantum Kinetic Potential or potential kinetic energy I compare the latent energy (which can be seen 'after' a body in rest) this energy is not passive it persists and is able to move the body in every degree of freedom possible I often compare this energy to a form of super fluid dark energy, matter that traverses the outer most features of a body en recurse this phenomenon is a quantum quality that exceeds definitions in information theory I thank you for the inspiration
Is this about the suns corona or the moon
A bigger planet could also mean life in its earliest stages would have a harder time getting to other, more hospitable places. Because biogenesis isn't likely to happen twice in the same planet, and it may not happen in the idealest spot.
The people in my fictional super-earth have blue skin, the blue pigment reflects away UV (and blue) light rather than absorbing everything like melanin does. If Ozone layer can't do it, maybe life itself can. I don't think Earthling life ever evolved pigments that bounce away light rather than absorbing it.
The planet is by far not a "super-habitable" world by any of these standards, it's completely frozen.
The cosmos -- endlessly fascinating.
fun fact, there was a time when the background temperature of space was... basically like a nice day on earth, 20-30 Celsius... this would obviously make any early planets way too hot but random asteroids far enough from a star would be mild at least :) just nothing to breathe
What gorgeous footage from an airplane of a solar eclipse.
