2024 and shopping for a Transit now. So many things to think about that aren't obvious. This is extremely helpful. Just found your channel. So much great Transit related information. Instantly subscribed. Looking forward to working my way through past videos. Thank you.
Great Videos, all of them! 10:08 regarding the profile height. I noticed you had a much taller profile on the table, to your far right, that you did not pick up or mention. You can see it sitting to your far right at the 00:23 mark. What would be the reason for going for a taller profile of Unistrut vs the lower one you are comparing to the L-Track.
Do you do work for people?
Is polyethylene toxic?
What bed system are you using here?
I know nothing about plumbing a water system but am going to need to do it soon in my van conversion. I would have liked you to explain the the water hose you were using as well as the 'crimping'. So this simple water system video isn't for beginners like me. Pity.
Thanks for the video! Im about to do this tonight. I guess you removed the door catches prior to wrap? Do you install them back on top of landau + carpet or you cut them out to make sure they fit back flush? Cheers
What brand windows are these?
What's the purpose of that foam block that you trim back? Does it need to be there? Great video. Thanks.
does the inlet have a check valve? The aquor website says it doesn't? Do you have a link for your inlet?
Why glue & not stretch & staple? Thanks.
STOP... moving the camera side to side. Its not clever or artistic.
Thanks for these tips
Gotta use fastmounts to hide those screws...
New to me. I’m falling down the rabbit hole now. Cool product
@@AVCRIG I used to work on luxury yacht interiors and they’re used allot in marine. They’re great 👍 I’m actually going to test those standard automotive panel clips for my van walls, the ones used on door skins. I think they’ll do just as good if done right.
Was already planning to use alupanel, but wrapped in marine foam backed vinyl with contact adhesive. I just think its the best combo, no rot/waterproof, straight, light, strong, space saving...
There’s a version called alumalite I think worth considering.
@@AVCRIG oh cool, I’m in Australia so no chance getting it here unfortunately 😅 it’s hard even getting things like thinsulate, looks ideal though!
L track 4 life 😅
You didn't mention zip ties or duct tape or bailing wire!!!!
Bailing wire is definitely good. Zip ties should be in the kit too. I honestly hate duct tape though. Maybe gaffers tape.
Excellent video for beginners. I wonder what type of foam (the blue foam) is used in your window frames which is not resolved by 3m Foam Fast 74.
It’s xps foam. (Or eps, extruded Polystyrene) we get it from a few sources but it’s the sane as the pink stuff. The 74 will dissolve it if you go heavy. It’s the propellant I believe that dissolves it.
Thanks for the video! I also appreciate your positiveness in the comment section. A real pro! Cheers
Always!
Vent can also be overflow?
Exactly. Doubles as the overflow
Way, way too fast. Nauseatingly so. I would have added a relay for switch and fused due to water. Filling from the bottom probably works fine with pressurized systems, but just in case i wanted an alternative i would have used the top port and could fill both ways. The cabinet and entire hold down arrangement was questionable at best. That’s a pretty good amount of weight sitting on a tiny shelf with a few screws holding it. I drive way too fast and hard for that!
Great suggestions.
Feedback - the music running on repeat is annoying
Im talking with my new editor. We used to chill on the music. Making adjustments on our upcoming vids.
Great video! You covered most of the things that are part of my setup, but here are a few more I suggest no adventure van should leave home without: * Folding hand saw, especially if you travel forest service roads. No one wants to have to turn around because of a downed limb or small tree. * Roll of gaffers tape. Great for temporary fixes of all kinds. * 20ft of paracord * Pair of work gloves (or two!) * Some random adjustable pliers, for the inevitable fastener that you don't have the right socket for. Because I like to over prepare I also carry a Viair 450 compressor, small maul to use for splitting kindling or as a mini sledgehammer, tow strap and shackles, and a small corded electric chainsaw... just in case...
These are great additions! Now that you mention it I do keep a few of these in my camping stuff but not in my tool kit. Gaffers tape is a great addition. The cord saw, folding camp saw, and adjustable pliers might need to get added right away though.
I have a 12vdc Viair air compressor rated for RVs. Also, don't forget tire plugs and plugging tools.
Great point! I’m adding those to the kit… might have to be a cabinet at this point.
Do you have a source of USA made non Baltic, Baltic bitch like plywood you like?
1.20pm Wed 26/6/2024 . I am having trouble with the timer, it is coming on around 2.30am on a Tuesday morning. Have watched video, which was very good, I have taken all the ticks off the days of the week, now fingers crossed I have done it.
Did it work?
Great vid! I would add mechanics gloves. Whether chopping firewood or poking around underneath a vehicle, saving myself from grime and busted knuckles is really nice
That's a great idea! Definitely needed
Seems like tank would be a little high up from floor if frequenting dirt back-roads. Ideally you want heavy weight on floor or under floor/van
I like the floor space in the van so we put them over the wheel well. You make a good point though. S&B is coming out with some good new under mount tanks for Transit.
I’ll purchase a handful of those overhead lights next time you remove them. I could use the spares.
We’ll put some in a box for ya.
Thank you for sharing your videos, do you have to ground to the chassis of the car? I saw some doing it after installing the 120Voutlet?
We ground our inverters to the chassis. I’ve never take. The 110 ground to chassis. Makes sense though.
I just found your site. Looking forward to learning more about your company and philosophy.
Awesome! Welcome to the club.
What are your thoughts on roxul for insulation?
I used it in my basement addition at home. Haven’t considered it for the van. How does it do with moisture?
Hey we are so stoked that you are still showing out bags in your rigs:) Byron @campovans
We don’t just show them… we use them!
this is making want a white van ..
Haha. I know the feeling. They look good once a little dolled up.
This video is magnificent
Thanks CP
I turned my cargo van into a crew van by adding seats i found on ebay and windows from Van Windows Direct. adding seats / windows was relatively easy. Obviously the trim is still cargo but I would have removed that anyways. Looks great now.
Great vid thanks
No problem 👍
Which Kind of foam is this one?
This is Landau 1/8”
I will use this opportunity to say this. I have watched a few of your videos and they are very informative. But every time the same thought pops up. Why does he talk so fast? I have to pause and replay all through the video just to get things strait. Well there you go. No disrespect meant and thank you.
Just go to settings and change the playback speed😊
I do talk fast. Especially in early videos. Whenever I meet folks at trade shows they say “ you talk just like in your videos… fast” I’m thankful for the comment. And I will try to go a little slower in the future.
Will this trim peoce work with the Webasto??
We offer this trim in 5 different configurations. We do offer a blank that you can drill out to fit your Webasto heater. If you email the shop with your diameter of the ducting we can let you know what would be the best selection.
Thanks
It doesn't look like it covers over the entire slider door, but maybe it was the angle of the camera. If it doesn't is there a solution to this?
You can install the fiamma forward and it still works fine it just doens't look as cool. Kind of looks like a fighter jet with it's mid air fuel port out. Some folks get wind noise with a cross wind depending on how far forward you mount the awning.
Where can i purchase the slider windows from this video?
Im not sure why this channel doesn't have more views. Pretty amazing content
Thank you! Please tell your friends.
Is there a difference in a crew and passenger van. Ford still makes the passenger wagon.
Crew is basically the front half of the passenger to the C pillar. The Passenger just has airbags all the way back. It's harder to build into a camper too.
😊
Can these long tanks be used vertically as well? I am converting an ambulance and that would fit perfectly in my tall narrow outside storage compartment that is on the same side as my sink and hot water heater.
I don’t see why not. You’d probably need to setup your own fittings. Not that big of a deal.
Yo, stop moving the camera forwards and backwards! Otherwise great video!
Haha... good input! Thanks
On the driver's side cargo door, the top of the panel and the door don't line up.
Spot on placement for even a 30 amp plug. Just did mine with a small piece of plastic behind the bumper for rigidity and worked beautifully. Thanks so much!
Excellent!
