The river Don was impressive. Interesting that the church was called St Cuthberts as I'm walking his trail in may
Nice to see a walk not too far from where I live.A completely different landscape to your Dales walks but nice in its own way.Enjoy watching your walks.
Looked so lovely. I do enjoy walking in the winter sun. I've seen a Nightjar, a strange looking bird 😊
Very interesting video,thank you.
cool....glad you detoured to see St Cuthberts...that doorway is an amazing feature..all the times i have passed by i have never been in...must visit next time.
Hi Carrie. St Cuthberts Church is beautiful, thank you for showing us around. 😀🥾⛪️
Love the church thanks Carrie lovely as always.
Hi Carrie I’m at work at the moment but I’ll be watching your video later, I’m looking forward to it, have a nice day cheers Glenn 👍
Very nice walk Carrie and really interesting old church. The Hare & Hounds at Fishlake looks worth a visit too.
Hi Henry, I'm sure it is worth a visit! Thanks for watching :D
Nice one as usual Carrie. Hope foot is feeling better. Atb
Hi Pete, thankfully the foot is on the mend, thanks :D
This popped up,and as l live fairly near l thought l would watch it.Great video.
Hi Catherine, glad you enjoyed it :D
Hi Carrie thank you for sharing your video with us, I enjoyed your video. it’s a a big 👍from me
Thank you so much 🤗
Lovely walk, so peaceful 😊
Yes it was! Thanks for watching :D
Hi Carrie 😊 hope you’ve had a nice Christmas and New Years. The mist did make the walk look so beautiful. That bridge was lovely with the plant life growing over it.
Thank you, you too! It was the perfect misty walk :D
You are subscribed, dear friend 345. Let's stay connected and enjoy the videos. 👍🔔🙏
Thank you :D
Great video... 👏👍
Thank you 👍
People often think of Flat lands being boring and tedious, you have proved that this is not the case..it's so gorgeous out there...my fave is yet to come...Hatfield moors.
Thanks Steven, I'm looking forward to it next time I'm down that way :D
Thanks again for posting. Shame about having to backtrack at the end. Glad it didn't make you miss your train.
Hi David, thanks for watching :D
hi Carrie the first part look like it would be full of nature all year round shame about the trail being blocked off near the end
Hi Steven, it's a lovely little walk- probably even better in the summer :D
A beautiful trail but definitely 'darkness at noon' in the depths of winter - already feels like it's a tiny bit lighter now. Sometimes navigating municipal scrubland is the hardest part of a walk!
Hi Catherine, yeah that corner of scrubland is obviously where the teenagers hang out!
Hi Carrie, another lovely section of the trail, thanks for taking us along again. All the best Dave
Thanks Dave :D
Looks an interesting area Carrie lovely as always .
Thanks Andy :D
We don't often comment but you are doing amazing! Keep on with the great content and best of luck with your 2025 plans 🤙🏼
Thanks fellas :D
Looks a great walk that Carrie. Nice to see something different and local, look forward to the next one!
Thanks James :D
Really enjoyed that. I agree that the mist does give off a magical atmosphere. That bridge was stunning. Looking forward to the next one. Happy New Year to you, all the best, Jenny 😊
Thanks Jenny and Happy New Year :D
Excellence.... Looks like the type of weather I had on my Wolds Way...
It certainly was the same weather, I'm enjoying your series, trying to keep up with watching them :D
Didn't look too muddy underfoot considering. Lovely atmosphere to the video
Mud levels were at a minimum which is always good :D
It's a lovely walk Carrie, i did it in sections a few years ago..not well signed but i do remember seeing a few Nightjar markers...I get out to the isle of Axholme quite a bit...brilliant video.
I thought you might have, it being on your doorstep. I've enjoyed it so far but developed a bit of the old plantar fasciitis so might have to put off completing it for a couple of weeks :(
Thoroughly enjoyed your video, it was so peaceful. Looking forward to the next one 😊
Thanks, I'm going to do some vegan camp cooking next week in the woods, I'm just wondering what to cook, or maybe just stick to something simple. Glad you enjoyed the vid :D
@carriehikes not sure, I'm vegan so my suggestions might not be agreeable to you. Hahaha
@@thewalkingvegan I'm vegan too ☺
@carriehikes of course, I've just re-read your original comment, 🙄. What about chopped onions and veg, tvp, tomatoes and herbs and spices with noodles. All could be prepared before you go, fry the onions then add everything else and get some noodles already done, I think they're called 'straight to crock' or something like that?
@@thewalkingvegan Sounds delicious! :D Thanks 😄
I really enjoyed that Carrie - the mood. I agree, I love the mist also. It's not about views although we like them. Nice one - see you out wit the stove. I look forward to seeing what stove it is. Ha, a beep. It's gonna be your year. Well, loving that bridge. All the best. Mark
Hi Mark, glad you enjoyed the vid :D It was a beautiful day and you're right, it's not always about the views :D
@@carriehikes Yeah, always good Carrie. No not always about the views but wow what a day we had down here. Hope it was good up your way.
Yes the mist was amazing. I had never heard of this walk before. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Tea, glad you enjoyed it. I'm going to do some camp cooking next week where I will be making a cuppa, I think you'll like it :P
@@carriehikes I do love a cuppa :)
Hi Carrie, the first Peatlands Way video on UA-cam Tube…..you’re a trailblazer! 😀 I’ve driven through Epworth on many occasion visiting friends but never realised a trail went through it. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the trail. Happy New Year to you. 😀🥾
Thanks and Happy New Year. Surprisingly there are a few trails around the Epworth area that I have never heard of before- it'll give me something to do next year!
Hi Carrie I enjoyed coming with you on your walk, I hope you had a lovely Christmas? I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos in 2025. it’s a big 👍from me Cheers Glenn. oh ps Happy New Year Carrie
Hi Glenn, I had a very quiet and relaxing Christmas, I hope you had a good one too. Happy New Year :D
A lovely misty walk in an interesting part of the country - impressed that you're making the best of these short grey days.
Hi Catherine, it was a beautiful little walk- I just love being outside and walking. Happy New Year :D
Great hike. Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year :D
@carriehikes 🙂👍
hi Carrie misty day but it all adds to the hike some work went in to building that bridge hope you have a happy new year 🎉🎉
Hi Steve, that was a lovely bridge, quite romantic looking with the foliage growing over it. Happy New Year :D
Lovely Carrie as always happy new year
Thanks Andy and Happy New Year :D
Some lovely photography, especially of leaves and teasels: always beauty even in the grey. Looking forward to the next one.
Hi Dave, the mist did make everything look amazing, next one coming soon :D

Thanks Norway, Happy New Year :D
Thank you for sharing your video! I had to subscribe to your channel. I became the 330th friend and subscribed today~
Lovely video 👍 Thanks very much for subscribing to my channel. I love the Dales, it;s just a shame I can;t get out there more often - So many hills, so little time!!! 😆 Keep up the great content, I look foreard to seeing more in 2025
Hi Dave, you're quite right- so many hills, so little time! If I was able to walk everyday I'd still never do everything, but maybe that's why it's such a great hobby- you'll never be bored hiking!
Love Reeth, down below and up on some of the great hikes up there too. I always getting my first ever subscriber and worried I had a stalker, as I did not understand UA-cam at all them, I just wanted a place to store my hikes. A Very Merry Christmas to you, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan, I love it around Reeth, feels like home somehow. All the best for 2025!
Shame about the lost audio and the same happened to be on a hiking on the coast about 2 years ago but it was the media mod and not my GoPro. I see what you mean about the conditions underfoot, very wet and muddy indeed and you did lot look of sound happy, especially after a slip and falling down a hole. Well deserved burger and chips and to be honest, a great effort, cheers Alan
I was very unhappy after that first day- it was bloody awful! Yeah, I don't know what happened to the audio- I think water got into the mic. I always check the audio is working now! Lesson learned :D
Don't get shot.. Worse than the gun shots on my video.. Keep safe.. Poor birds :( You're doing very well, and as long as you enjoy it - keep on producing....
They should bottle winter days like that 👌 great watch. Heres to 2025 🙌
Let's hope we get a few more sunny days over Xmas while I have time off!
Round howe buildings .Richm3ond North Yorkshire
Thanks for watching :D
Hi Carrie thank you for another lovely video, I hope to see lots more of your videos I think they are very good, I've been on on UA-cam now for 6 years and I haven't even reached 200 yet so I think to have got over 300 subscribers in your first year is very good, I hope to be out and about again next year making videos too, atb Carrie cheers Glenn. it's another 👍from me
Thanks Glenn, I'm looking forward to getting out and about next year- let's hope we've got the weather for it. Happy hols :D
From one walking lady on UA-cam with about 300 subs to another, congratulations! It's nice to know there are pleasant people out there who enjoy following a good walk. Looking forward to seeing your plans for next year unfold, meanwhile have a Happy Christmas!
Hi Catherine, you can't beat a good walk in beautiful countryside. Thanks and have a happy Christmas :D
