I start peas in gutters indoors & plant them out in end of March under scaffolding netting & they thrive. Get early crops Kelvedon wonder & especially Meteor Always crop well. I tried alderman peas later on this season & they grew well but I find peas don’t like really hot weather cos plants dry up quickly.

I use a few wicker trugs I’ve purchased over the years. Best basket is a metal trellis one but tbh I use free oblong plastic mushroom trays Try & get them cos they’re stackable for storing & putting in the car 🤩

Your Oregon Sugar Pods are much better than mine. I've done 3 sowings and the latest is the only one that has produced anything and still only a handful. Pretty disappointed with that because last year I had loads.

I planted purple sprouting at a funny time and one of them cropped in July. The other two are thinking about it.

I use my wife's cleaning caddies that she no longer wanted and mushroom trays are a must for all gardener's. Will I ever buy one, not sure, but they do look nice. ♻️Happy gardening, Terry King.

Just sown some over wintering onions, Senshu and Destiny 2, never tried from seed before but so impressed with my summer one's, I thought what the heck, so much cheaper than buying sets. Fingers crossed 🤞. Jo Devon 🙂

Isn't it great when something that we struggle to grow finally comes good. It has been a good year for peas as well so I am glad you got a great harvest. My struggle is radishes too. For something that is supposed to be so easy that children can grow them I just have ever only grown a decent crop once. Still, it is worth keep trying as you have shown 😀

Hi Mark - I grow nothing but Bolthardy beetroot and have harvested and roasted / boiled / pickled them as big as grapefuit - as long as they don't bolt, as even some Bolthardy have done in the weird weather this year, they are not woody even at this size, so don't write them off / put them into your compost. On the same theme, I grow nothing but Vienna radishes for the same reason i.e. even at golf ball size and over, they are not woody.

Yaaay, well done you! I'm trying peas again this year, well the second attempt this year, I was put off last year by finding the pea moth inside of a couple 🤢🤢 I did some on the allotment and the pigeons have squished them, trying again at home!

Hi Mark, I love the harvest basket! I bought some glass jars from Home & bargain with screw on tops, just like the kilner ones. Pick fruit and put them into the jar and store in your fridge, they last for weeks, only wash them when you want to eat them 😉 good on your son eating totally fresh pods, how wonderful 😊 wow! What a fabulous harvest! Lovely update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊

My allotment is in South West Hertfordshire on the edge of the Chilterns and this has been a poor year for my garlic. It was planted in mid October 2024 and the dreadful weather this year resulted in poor growth and rust on the leaves has been the worst in my twenty one years growing Garlic.

Hi Mark, the weather has been so unpredictable, warm, hot, cold 🙄 your sweet peppers look so much better than mine in my polytunnel, mine are abput the same as yours but the leaves are gettimh munched but, I do have small sweet peppers on them, hoping they will get bigger. One of my plants, only has two trusses and the top had stopped growing, there is no evidence of more leaves at all, very strange. My 5 other tomato plants are doing ok (crimson crush) first time growing them, the sweet million is just covers in flowers & tomatoes. My hubby's cucumbers are in his greenhouse and they are flying. I feel exactly the same as you, its puzzling this year. Great video update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
